I have been to this restaurant since it's been around, it is not my go to Asian food restaurant, but my family and I do enjoy going here. I must recommend the Shrimp Wantons, they are guaranteed to be gobbled up by my kids! The service is good, haven't had any bad experiences to talk about. The atmosphere is good, a bit more Asian decorated than some Chinese Restaurants. Parking can be very hit or miss as this is a busy area, especially Mondays during wing night at the pub next store. I have been an avid supporter of Mighty Mango in the past. Except for tonight and never again. We called to place an order for pickup with the caveat that there is a zucchini allergy. They said it was not a problem at all, they could accommodate that. The order was over $90 total, not including the tip we gave. We received the food an began to eat, and the food was good...until we dug a little deeper. Further inside several dishes we found zucchini, AFTER the person with the allergy ate some of the tainted food. We called to talk with the store about the mishap and they blamed us first. Then said that when they get busy they, quote, "don't really pay attention". They stated that they would give us two items for free the next time we visit. When we explained that we were upset by this and wouldnt be able to come back if they can't accommodate the allergy, they hung up on us. Yes, we should have triple checked that there was no zucchini in the food. We confirmed with the restaurant, checked both receipts, and glaced at the top of the food, but we did not search throughout the food bit by bit for zucchini before eating. That is on us. However, when you agree to accomodate a customer with an allergy, you should make sure that allergine isn't in MULTIPLE dishes they order. This isn't a preference, but a legitimate allergy. Then to hang up when confronted?! Between that and the full admission that they simply don't care when they get busy, I will never be back. It's a shame, I liked some of their food before it was tainted. Update: We called back and they finally agreed to give us a refund. They sent a delivery boy to bring us the money...in $5 bills, dimes, and nickles. They still kept the tip. read more

About 4:30 yesterday phoned to order supper to pick up. Ordered dinner for 2 and wanted the hot Prawns. First I could barely hear the person that answered the phone, second I could barely understand the person answering the phone. I asked for the Hot Prawns, she asked what number on the menu. I said I was driving and did not have menu. She said Szechwan shrimp I said no Hot Prawns. We did this 4 times then she says it will be ready in 15 minutes and is 51 $. When I went to pick it up I asked if was the Hot Prawns she said no it was the Szechwan shrimp they had cooked for me. I said fine and paid for it and left. I have ordering their take out for 25 years but I guess now I am looking foe a new place. read more

Love this place! It's a very quiet restaurant but we always enjoy the service and the good food. Some amazing suggestions: - Egg drop soup. I have never had anything so amazing as this soup. It's also low calorie for you health conscious types. - Beef and broccoli. The beef is cooked perfectly to melt in our mouth! The way beef was intended. - Veggie Sizzling Rice. I'm personally not a vegetarian but the boyfriend used to be one and this is his favourite dishes. I really do enjoy this dish. Never thought I would enjoy tofu! Weird.... - Ginger Beef. YUM. - Crispy Wontons. Very good but make you have a large group to share with because they give you a good helping. - Almond Chicken. YUM! A great place to dine. Went for chinese for lunch, short menu, 2 dishes with fried rice and egg for $9.50, had beef with brocolli in black bean and chicken chow mein, both nice, rice kind plain but fit well with the other dishes. All served on one plate Looked at the take out and dinner menu, huge selection of Thai food dishes., this is a thai restaurant with a few chinese dishes. Next time I am going for the thai! We ordered and picked up during the Covid pandemic craziness, trying these guys out because I was craving Egg Foo Yung, and our closer place wasn't doing it at this time. I am really glad that we did! My wife asked me to write this, because she will often go along with getting Chinese food and doesn't mind it, but doesn't love it either. This time she got excited about how fresh, well prepared and flavourful this was! We got common comfort food choices of Chicken Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls, Ginger Beef, and BBQ Pork Egg Foo Yung, and it is SO good, light and not too oily. We will be back!! read more

I just had home delivery. The ginger beef and and sweet and sour pork were not hot (and I live very close to the restaurant) so I had to microwave it. The shanghai noodles were overcooked and mushy. The only items that were hot and cooked well were the spring rolls and steamed rice. Very disappointing. read more

This little hidden gem has some of the best Chinese food in Calgary. It is never very busy; but that is due to the location. It is pretty far south, but well worth the drive. The ginger beef melts in your mouth, the sizzling rice full of flavor, the beef and broccoli delicious and so tender you barely have to chew. Deep Fried Won-tongs light, crispy, breathtaking; no one does them even close to how the Mango does them,. Mushu pork is another great dish......I could go on and on...... I have only ever done take out here, and I order the same thing every time. Dry spare ribs - they are AMAZING, I recommend getting them. Chicken fried rice- let me tell you, they are not cheap, I don't know how they filled the container to rim like that but it was stuffed. Good rice also. Ginger beef- they should warn you on the menu but don't. The ginger beef is spicy, not mild spicy, real spicy. Sweet and sour pork- amazing as well, no surprises when you bite into it. However they use both white meat and dark meat. I've ate here twice and been please with the food and staff encounters. First time trying mighty mango, we ordered delivery on Christmas day. Service on the phone was amazing, the man I spoke to was pleasant and helpful. Being Christmas I expected that we may have to wait a while as I know if I was working on Christmas, I would be slacking! The food arrived quicker than the 40 mins the man said it would take. The food was delicious and the portions were huge!!! Price was exactly what most Chinese food restaurants charge ($11/ish per container) but portions were as I said..... HUGE! Craving Chinese, we needed to try something different. "Let's check on Yelp,"she suggested as we quickly perused the nearby offerings. That was a good decision. Our bad decision was writing down every dish that other Yelpers had admired at Mighty Mango and then ordering them all! Had we simply gone with our usual Chinese food selections I am convinced this would have been a sterling dinner. Instead, it was a confused collection of things that sounded a lot better in everyone else's' review. Many items were deep fried (but rather tasty). We have been ordering from this restaurant for 10 years. Supported them through the pandemic. Numerous times they have got the order wrong but we still supported them as they were part of our community. Now they will no longer allow substitutions on the Dinner for Two even though I have always paid for the substitution. She does not care if she looses a loyal customer so bye! We're visiting Calgary from Seattle (USA) and we are so pleased to have stumbled across the Mighty Mango! We had Beef w/ broccoli & mushrooms and prawns w/ snow peas in addition chicken chow mein. All our dishes were delicious! So frequently, Chinese restaurant food can be bland, greasy, and heavy, but our meal was flavorful and not over-cooked. Definitely recommend! The experience we just had with this place is very unfortunate, as the food really is so good....large portions...tasty and good quality food. My husband picked up our order and was told by the masked cashier, it totalled $135.00. He expressed surprise as we'd roughly figured less. (wasn't wearing his reading glasses, so just trusted her in giving the price). She countered back with no, it's only $134.00, and he carefully counted it out & paid her in cash. When he arrived home we looked at receipt which said, $117.34. He clearly overpayed. When I called to report, the cashier insisted to me that my husband payed 122.00, and said she'd assumed he was giving her a tip. Then when I put my husband on, to adamantly assert he knew he'd payed $134.00, she upped the amount she said he gave to 125.00, but totally denied he'd given 134.00. At no point in the transaction did this woman even acknowledge that she thought she was being given a tip. Not sure about most here, but when I pick up food and am not waited on, don't feel the need to tip, certainly not to that degree....even if it had been the amount she says he gave, (It wasn't!) odd she would not have asked if he wanted change back, no? read more

We were at the restaurant on Wed. at 4:45 pm and were the only customers for most of our meal. The ginger beef tasted greasy and tasted as if the oil used was not clean/fresh. The sauce had too much vinegar and was not edible. Cubes of meat in the Special Fried Rice tasted stale. We did enjoy the vegetable dish the most -- although it was not outstanding.
