Long before the wedding, he helped us plan the logistics--understand the scheduling needs, identify our photography goals, and ultimately give us great advice before we had signed a contract. On the day of, he coordinated with the DJ, wedding planner, and our volunteers (read: friends) to make sure that things went smoothly, changed when needed, and kept it fun for us. Many months later, he helped make sure my family got the prints they wanted, even fixing an error that wasn't his problem. A+ for wedding-specific needs. 2) What you probably want to know: He gave us tons of great photos that met all the goals in a variety of settings: the group shots for the family members; both silly and serious couples shots; the venue shots that still coming in handy for stationary needs (anniversary cards, etc.). Also important, he helped coach people for posing and positioning in a warm and knowledgeable way--people felt much more comfortable. A+ for photos. 3) Cost real talk: We worked hard to make our wedding affordable and debated long about how to choose a photographer--one of the largest expenses. JP is highly technical photographer that produced work that felt like shots from photographers far outside our price range. We recommend him to friends and coworkers for their events. Just hire JP.

JP Lor shot my wedding at San Francisco City Hall, and he was perfect…read more Before the wedding he did his due diligence and made sure he knew exactly what we wanted---we really felt listened to. On the day of the wedding, when nothing could go wrong, JP was the reason that nothing did go wrong. When things changed, like when a location we were planning on shooting some photos became unexpectedly unavailable, he was calm and collected and immediately had a back up plan. He made sure we had all the photos we wanted (and some we didn't even know we wanted), and he even helped keep us on schedule for the wedding itself. At the same time, I never felt rushed or pressured by him---he always let us set the pace. He felt like a real partner through the whole process. After the wedding, we ordered a photo album from JP to commemorate the day. He was the one who did designed the whole thing and put it together, and it is beautiful and perfect and we cherish it. My husband and I got married in a small wedding in Napa valley. She had met with us several times before the ceremony and it was very important for her to get to know us as individuals and as a couple, where we come from and how we see and relate to Judaism. My husband and I come from slightly different backgrounds - Part of my family is orthodox religious and my husband comes from an all-secular background, and we both learned a lot about judaism and ourselves in this process. Rabbi Bridget had great explanations about the origins of different parts of the ceremony, what was accustomed in the old days and the adjustments made to modern days and why. She helped us think about the family we want to build together and to better understand how jewish tradition and ceremonies can fit in to that. She brought up questions that helped us write our own Ketubah and mutual vows and was willing to customize the ceremony according to our wishes and beliefs. She was very flexible with dates (and we had a last-minute change of the wedding date) and the location that we requested and also gave great tips along the way. She is extremely pleasant and thoughtful yet very energetic and I would even say funny! Takes forever to do anything and is incredibly unprofessional, if he gives product, it's wrong, incomplete, not what was discussed and if he uses another editor, because he's on fore mentioned illegal grow, the correct directions are not transferred and he is nowhere to be found and you can't reach him for days. Really just a sad, miserable person that I feel sorry for. Point is, go somewhere else and use someone reputable and save your time. Time is so invaluable. Doesn't even have a website. Think about it.

For the purposes of full disclosure--I didn't even think about video until I worked for Joel for a year back in 2004, but once I saw other people's videos and how special it was to get to witness the ceremony and all the special moments of the reception in full motion and sound--I knew that if I ever got married I would want it on DVD. I hadn't met the guys who shot my wedding before, but they showed up in suits, were very quiet, and respectful, and they got all the big shots of the procession, and all the intimate shots of the vows, as well as all the toasts and main dances. The editors put it all together into a very watchable hour and a half video and we got it within four months of the wedding. I have been waiting over 5 years to write this review for Jack!…read more For the past eight years I have had the pleasure of working in the wedding industry, and as you can imagine I have worked with many vendors. When I got engaged in December of 2022 I didn't have to do any research as I knew who I wanted to be my wedding photographer. Jack has worked at my venue numerous times and his attention to detail, responsiveness, and phenomenal photography skills are just a few of the reasons why I knew I wanted him to capture our special day. Jack has is not only a wedding/special event photographer, but knows how to capture movement as a seasoned NBA (Golden State Warriors) photographer. Prior to booking we had a zoom call to review what we were looking for as clients, and Jack reviewed everything that he had to offer and provided us with a comprehensive quote. Jack even ordered a custom -made metal hanger to display my dress (that was over 35 pounds). When it came to our (rainy) wedding day, Jack and his team were early and prepared. He had several ideas of how we wanted to capture our day though the rain. For example, Jack had already scouted perfect location for our first look at the Claremont Hotel. Knowing that our ceremony had to be indoors, Jack was able to adjust his exposure to make our ceremony and family photos look like it was supposed to be indoors! Lastly, Jack was able to take some shots utilizing an umbrella and some special lighting to make the rain fun! We also decided to use Jack for our hybrid video, and it was more than I could have asked for. It brought me to tears in the best way possible.
