Her brother had one in his house here in Mass. and was so disappointed when he had to move to NJ. He wished he could have taken the room with him. I also want to give some overall advice to not put a hot tub in your sunroom unless it's a HUGE space. It's not worth the hassle and we truly regret the decision. Ours is roughly 200 square feet, which isn't teeny - but clearly not big enough. Despite the design team's assurance that they "install hot tubs in sunrooms all the time" - in the years and years that they have been in business they clearly don't understand the electrical codes that come along with adding a water component to the space. You can't have any outlets or fixtures within 5 feet of your hot tub. That includes the ceiling. We wish this was explained to us. If you are going to go ahead with a tub in the space here's some lighting and electricity considerations: Get track lighting cans built into the room. Yes, you'll lose some glass but you'll save on headaches. Two of the three pre-wired lighting areas that were put into the ceiling cannot be used due to the proximity to the tub. We already purchased all of the lighting elements (track lighting and a fan) over a year ago, as we were instructed to during the design phase. We now have two big silver circles in the ceiling that we'll stare at while we sit in our hot tub. The fan is the biggest bummer. It was something that we really wanted and were told that we could have one, "no problem." The circular light fixture bases that are standard on any lighting element are also larger than the ceiling beams and hang over on both sides of the wood. (see photos) It looks terrible. We would have made a different lighting choice all around if this was explained to us. It's too late to change this. We are stuck with it. We were also sold a super-high-tech de-humidifier fan that wasn't installed properly by the folks at Brady and we are in the midst of figuring that out. God help us if we have to rip open the walls, re-plaster, etc. but it looks like that's where we are headed. And also, while not an electrical issue, we would advise adding a drain to the floor near the tub. A lot of water comes off your body as you get in and out. More than you think. Even on a waterproof floor, we wish we would have put one in. Overall, be sure to check the plan details CAREFULLY, and follow up with Kevin: We were provided the final designs for review and corrected the way the sliding doors were supposed to go and it was never corrected on the final designs. Normally not a huge deal, except that the hot tub is currently blocking the entrance. With everyone clamoring for remodels and with all of the people out due to Covid cases, it's taken over three months to get the correct doors. We are still waiting. Using "their guys": The general contractor from Hillcrest Siding is awesome. Very communicative, considerate and a great craftsman. If you have your own electrician that you like, use them instead. The electrician was not reliable or communicative. We are sensitive to the health issue his family was undergoing, but you need to communicate and keep folks informed. Top 4 Takeaways: 1. Don't put a hot tub in the space unless you have your own electrician review the plans. Our lighting situation isn't great and we are stuck with it. 2. Kevin disappears after the sale has gone through, so don't expect him to take accountability for any of the missteps. Poor Kathi. 3. Don't have the expectation that your room will be up and running 2-3 weeks after it's dropped in from a crane. Site prep started the week of Labor Day. The room was delivered on Sept. 23. We couldn't use the space until Dec. 17. A stick build onsite would have taken roughly the same amount of time and would have been less people to deal with. 4. Budget roughly $10-20k more for your room to pay additional contractors to finish the space. And I'll add that my husband put in the floor, we painted and put in baseboards and the door frame ourselves. Compare the final price to a stick build and see what's worth it.

I was new to the area and took a year-and-a-half interviewing roofers -- seven in total. Because I…read morewas looking for a roof on a sprawling ranch house with all manner of twists and turns, I knew I had to find someone with a level of expertise on which I could depend. In addition, I also planned to roof a freestanding cottage, potting shed and two barns. Jon was the only roofer to express enthusiasm over what was a decidedly complicated job. His company also provides siding and sun tunnels, and they were able to patch some siding to match existing material and install a sun tunnel in my kitchen. This is the kind of one-stop shopping I was thrilled to have. The team, under the leadership of Angel, also replaced six skylights with solar-powered blinds that reap credits come tax season. They were also able to spray foam into a rotted exterior beam and finish it off with a custom-molded lead cap they painted to match the wood. There was nothing they couldn't do, and my requests (which dribbled in as the work proceeded) were never met with anything but total professionalism and suggestions for how it could be done. When Jon and I first discussed the job, I was still debating what type of roofing to install. My lack of focus dragged on for several months, and Jon would check back with me at intervals and send me product links for what he thought I might like. I looked at everything from metals, thatch, cedar shakes, faux shakes, slate and tile. A lot of the products I was interested in initially were discontinued but showed up in online searches as if they were available. Jon diligently pursued what products were still on the market, which helped me avoid going down a rabbit hole in attempting to find the "perfect" product. This forward-thinking support was invaluable in helping me narrow down my choice -- Presidential Shakes by Certainteed in an autumn blend. This product is absolutely stunning and provides a rustic accent to my quirky home, which features very low rooflines where the shingles are a visible characteristic of the home. These shingles are offset from one another and are subtly multicolored in the most pleasing of tones. They have a cottage feel that often mimcs thatch or slate. I am a graphic designer so my standards for visual appeal might be more demanding than most. I urged Jon to take a drone video of the job, because I think this project fully shows off his company's capabilities. Once you contact Jon Rigali, your search will be over. He will guide you every step of the way. I do have to recommend that you hide your crunchy peanut butter Cliff bars.
