Took my car in for grinding sound in rotor, spongey brakes and a check engine light. They did a recall, replaced the rotor, and brake pad and told us we were good. We got in it and the brakes were still extremely spongey and the check engine light came right back on so we took it back. They then said it was a vacuum pump that causes all of those things and so we took it back in and paid another sum of money. We got it back and NOW two TPM sensors are broken and not reading. THANKS to Mr. Hellack for having THE BEST service department personnel I've found recently for my 2019 Colorado truck. I took the advice of a local (Davis, OK) friend and used this dealership's service department for a warranty issue on my new truck and they got it fixed correctly and back to me within 72 business hours, when in fact my selling dealer kept my vehicle previously for 1 week and didn't get this same result. For me its well worth the 2 hour drive out of state to get my vehicle serviced here as the employees (Austin Burch, Ross Laird) that I spoke with are pleasant/easy to converse with and very knowledgeable about my vehicle's problems. I also briefly talked with one mechanic familiar with my truck and he said it should be a relatively easy fix so that gave me a good feeling after the 1st dealer's failure. They even had a loaner vehicle ready for me when I arrived and yet my selling dealer had a 2.5 week wait for a loaner vehicle IF I decided to take my truck back to them for a second try which of course wasn't going to happen anyways. My new truck is running THE BEST since I've had it although the trans is a little different with the TSB fluid installed but this owner is now very happy with their purchasing decision. In any case this service dept.'s effort is working 100% perfectly on my new vehicle and I will easily recommend this dealer to anyone needing expert warranty or otherwise service for their vehicles. Forget "The Mile", drive to Davis for your Chevy products! You would think, me, being from Norman, I'd have many places to chose from living near the MILE OF CARS ...but that's just not the case. We just drove down to Davis from Norman and that's where I bought vehicle from ....Hellack Chevrolet. This has been THE BEST buying experience I've ever had, and my husband agreed. Hector was our salesman; friendly, willing to please yet NOT PUSHY, therefore, overall enjoyable. During our time there, we spoke with Mike Rogers & Austin (with Sales), Kel (with Financing), and Mike Hellack himself, who just wanted to makes sure our purchasing experience was going well (he even bought lunch)! They all were professional and down to earth; such a relief from the vultures at the big lots. Recommended by my Mother In-Law, who bought here, and now we bought here and we'll buy here again when the time comes. They're in the business to SELL VEHICLES! I left my Traverse there for a recall. They gave me a truck to drive that was sitting on empty and very dirty. I was ok with that as I expected it to be over night any way. It took 14 days as they decided without asking me to change my steering pump. When they called me to pick it up I went back and they had left the battery box open and tools on my floor board. When I drove home I noticed my Traverse had 76 more miles on it than when I left it and a Mcdonalds bag on the back floor. I called service and ask why my car was driven so far and he said we always drive them. I said I expected that but 76 miles ?? He didn't answer . When driving it home I noticed the front end was shaking very badly. I took it back and they said leave it and I ask for the truck I had brought back as I had filled it up and washed it for them. No he said we need that one, and gave me a truck that was also very dirty and empty of fuel. The next day they tell me that I need a new set of brakes on the front of my Traverse that only had a little over 40k miles on it. I had recently had my car serviced at another dealer who had said my brakes had 80% life left . Hellack service gave me an estimate of over $400 and I left. I took it to another shop who said that its strange that my brake was loose and that only one right front brake was the problem but looked like it didn't match any others on my car. very strange since My traverse had not had any other work done on it before. Gave me an est of $230. to fix it instead of the over $400. It left me wondering. Hellack Chevy called me and said I didn't sign a recall service page and ask me to drive the 34 miles back to sign it. I was in another state and said I will when I get back but the guy said he would just sign it for me..a few months later I was looking for a new truck and went there to check prices and was left standing around in the sales room for about 30 mins and then a man asked what I was needing --I said Im interested in a new Truck--he walked off and left me waiting for about 10 more mins and I gave up and left. I saw an ad for the truck I wanted at a dealer in Texas . They were great. Gave me a great price on a new 2016 Silverado and even brought it 140 miles to me. I really regret my experience at Hellack Chevy because I live so far away from other dealers. I really wanted to feel that I could trust them with my Vehicles . I dread when My new truck needs service and it seems like there is no dealers in this area that I can trust for good service. Oh yea and My steering pump that never made noise before now has a whine but I really hate to take it back to Hellack. I have asked several friends from Davis about this dealership some say its great but many others say they will never go back due to shoddy service. I guess its all in who you get in the service dept. Its too bad as it looks like a very nice dealership and its only 34 miles from my home. read more
