These seven neon colored stacked boulder towers (each boulder between 10 and 25 tons) are located in the middle of nowhere. This art installation symbolizes the meeting between nature and the artificial. Stacked like stone cairns, these shouldn't be as captivating as they are, but it brings out a childlike wonder, and everyone who sees them marvels at them. These have faded somewhat (I was also here in 2019 so I posted some of those pictures too). This work was supposed to be relocated in 2024 but I think now it will become permanent. You will need a car/transportation to view this. There was a food truck nearby but otherwise no facilities.

It was a fun little side trip to get away from the second hand smoke that lingers over the strip. I was mostly offended by all the people who found it necessary to try to climb the towers to get photos. Assholes.

Standing there with his happy little face (I am guessing it's a boy cat, but who knows?), it's a total mood lifter amid the city's neon chaos. Snowball is an unofficial city mascot, especially to those of us creative types who frequent the downtown Arts District. Perfect for a quick selfie or just to take in some fun street art, Snowball's got a playful energy that makes it impossible not to smile. His tongue is sticking out and his squinting eyes have the cutest expression ever (and one that most cat parents will recognize). Snowball's oversized ears are the icing on the cake.  I love public art and I personally think it's worth the trip downtown to pay Snowball a visit. It's a fun, quirky statue that's free and open to all, 24/7.

The Praying Mantis at the downtown Container Park is one of the most unexpected and awesome public…read moreart displays in town. The giant insect towers just under 40 feet, and it looks like something straight out of a science fiction movie.  This thing came to be at the Burning Man festival over a decade ago, and now it has become a centerpiece in the quirky Las Vegas Arts District that's loved by locals and tourists alike. The Mantis is pretty cool day or night, although the dramatic lighting makes for better photo ops in the evening. It used to shoot fire from its head, but I haven't seen it with the flames in years. Regardless, this is the perfect stop for anyone who is a fan of offbeat art, funky photo ops, or just a good dose of "only in Vegas" weirdness.

I am so glad that I discovered this business. I have always been interested in learning about how…read moreblown glass is fused and created. I reached out to this business and sadly learned that there are no places in town that teach this skill. This business does offer other classes working with fused glass so I decided to sign up for one. The cost for my class was only $40 which I thought was very reasonable. Although I am not in this part of town often, the studio was easy to find parking was plentiful in their lot. This business is broken into two areas. When you enter, you are in the gallery and there are various artists featured along with their pieces. Very impressive. In the back of the studio is where all the glass art is created. There are kilns, tools, workbenches etc. My friend and I signed up to create a colorful heart this past Saturday morning. We were warmly greeted by Don who checked us in and then we patiently waited for the class to begin. Barbara and Larry (owners) took us back into the working part of the studio and we all found our places around two tables. Since we were handling glass, we had to wear gloves for safety. The purpose of the class was to create a mosaic style heart/paperweight. There were two large trays at each table filled with colorful, fused glass. After trying various sizes of the glass, I was finally able to finish creating my design and considered my heart masterpiece completed. Larry was extremely informative and helpful throughout the class as was Barbara. I learned from Larry about their extensive involvement with our community. They had just recently held an event for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. I love a small business that gives back and it makes me want to support them even more. Both Barbara and Larry display a real passion for what they do and enjoy sharing it with others. Larry expressed to me how addicting creating this kind of art an be and I totally believe him. After our hearts were created, they would now be placed in the kiln for firing. Barbara advised all of us that as soon as our hearts were ready, we would be notified and able to pick them up. I have been looking for a creative outlet and I believe I will be back taking more classes and learning more about working with fused glass.

Our instructor- Barbara (owner) - was fun, patient, creative, and helpful. And her husband Larry was a master of glass blowing, showing us how to create two gorgeous pieces. We didn't actually get to blow glass, but it was awesome to watch and listen to him talk through everything. This was a small corporate event, and worth every minute!

In Las Vegas, amongst the glitz, lights, night life, booze, gambling and shopping (don't get me…read morewrong, these are all pretty fantastic in this 2 mile block of Southern Nevada along the world famous Vegas Strip!), art can often be an after thought. A moment in which in your burry eyed, foggy state of boarding your return flight home, you might vaguely remember a giant thing with tumbling numbers or a giant tree house looking thing you thought was a restaurant. But make no mistake, those items (which are indeed public art) have been placed there for you to see, experience, be mesmerized by and enjoy....whether you actually knew it or not. Crystals and the City Center area that surrounds it, is a treasure trove of some of the city's greatest contemporary, cool art installations. From the cool Mihajima Marks U.S debuted piece that went in to Crystals last year, to the funky cool tree house that houses Maestros designed by David Rockwell or James Turrell's Akhob located inside Louis Vuitton (appointments required, so call well in advance)...great art is everywhere at Crystals! Look up City Center Art Collection before you visit, for if art is your thing, this is a fun scavenger hunt around City Center, in addition to Crystals (the shopping entity at City Center). Most of the pieces are large and can make you travel around the entire site to discover. The art at Crystals can rotate from time to time, so keep your eyes peeled for new stuff during each visit.

The museum is small but quite fun. We spent about 1-2 hours here. The staff is friendly and taking photo for you. It feels like you are in a paralel universe of colors, lights, secret passages and things from other worlds. There are various type of tkts depending on the experiences that you want include since they have everything from sensory museums, the Mega Mart, Golf, Grand Prix experience, zip line, Wink World, Virtual Reality and so much more. There are various eateries and a big bar right in the middle of the whole place. We bought the ticket called Level 3A which included almost everything. It was an amazing experience and perfect for all ages, unless you get overwhelmed with the lighting. But it is an amazing and completely different place to enjoy some family or friend fun.

Very disappointing experience -- poor planning, inefficient operations, and extremely long waits…read more I really wanted to enjoy AREA15, but unfortunately the experience was frustrating. The biggest issue is the lack of transparency about wait times. If I had known how long the lines would be, I would not have purchased the Access Level 1 passes. Guests should be clearly warned about expected wait times before purchasing so they can make an informed decision. The line for Haley's Comet was absolutely ridiculous. The wait time rivals some Disneyland attractions, which is unacceptable for an experience where you are already paying for access. Standing in a long line without any clear communication about the expected wait makes the experience feel poorly managed. The operations overall felt very inefficient. There are not enough attractions available for the number of guests. For example, there are only two Birdly simulators, creating a major bottleneck. Staff members need to explain the directions and options for each activity, but instead of doing this while guests are waiting in line, they wait until it is the person's turn, which slows everything down even more. The AR Dodgeball experience was another example. They allow two people to play at a time, even though they could easily combine smaller groups and let two families or groups play together. There is only one dodgeball field, so better crowd management is needed. The concept of AREA15 is fun, but the execution needs major improvement. More capacity, better communication about wait times, and more efficient staff procedures would make a huge difference. As it stands, the long waits and poor organization make it difficult to justify the cost.

I LOVE visiting the Bellagio Conservatory. It's one of the highlights of my trip. They do an…read moreamazing job with all the flowers. Though not all of them are real I learned. I was sadly surprised. I love that it's a free activity and you don't have to be a hotel guest to enjoy it. I do wish we'd visit it at a less crowed time, when would that be I don't know as Vegas is the place that no one sleeps. I have seen pictures of it virtually empty so there must be a quieter time then we go. We went around 6 on a Saturday in May so it was peak visiting hours. Even with it being packed you can still get some great pictures. We took a great one near the arbor. We had some people take it for us, but for some reason the background turned out great but, we look funny, maybe grainy, I'm not sure, but they are unusable. We then took a selfie and it turned out great. You don't have the full arch, but it's better than nothing.It still has the beautiful flowers surrounding us. I was able to get lots of pictures and videos. People really respect the camera and try to avoid being in your shot even when you're taking a long video. I keep mine down to 15 seconds, but when you'r recording it seems long. They have a Rolex show at the entrance of the gardens and my husband loved pursuing that shop while I entered the gardens and was admiring all the flowers, he eventually caught up. Lost of family's were there taking group pics near the arbor too, but it was never too crowed to get a pic. People moved quick and there were so many selfie spots that there was never a long wait. The arbor is the place to take pictures, it totally frames you in. Last time if was near Valentine's Day and we had someone take our picture of us under the full heart arch. Those pictures turned out well. That was 3 years ago during a very special trip. The background music is very pleasant and adds to the ambiance. I took a ton more pictures and lots of us, but I opted not to post those. I try to keep my post down to 10 pictures, sometimes a few more or less. You still get the jest of it all with the videos I took.

While you are there - be sure to look up while in the lobby to see the glass flowered ceiling designed by famed glass artist Dale Chihuly.
