We wanted a quiet little getaway and had never been to medicine park we quickly found this place and booked our stay. It was so close to town, and near some great hiking! The room was large and spacious but felt so cozy and inviting- like you were stepping in to a friends house. They had a cute little s'mores set up ready to go, and a basket of snacks. The host has even included a great list of things to do and places to eat in town. We made a fire in the large fire pit out back and enjoyed our s'mores under the stars. The wrap around porch has lots of comfortable seating and ample fire wood so there's no need to bring your own. They even had s'more sticks- though we didn't bring ours as well as our kit ha the shower was so nice and the bathroom was stocked well with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a hair dryer, makeup wipes and bug wipes! Which I had never seen but they definitely came in handy! And I will definitely be looking to add that to our hiking gear!

Each room in the entire house has been recently restored to a high standard of excellence and has a theme - The cleanliness throughout the b and b shows great pride is taken which makes guests feel comfortable and at home. After we drove to our room and found some food, a couple beers, we headed to the pool. Slightly sorry but some local kids had been swimming in it so I assume it's a normal hang out spot. Cool waters and hot sunset. The a/c worked so good I had to get up and turn it off in the middle of the night. We first were told that our room will be ready an hour earlier then expected and then we were greeted by this beautifully outgoing and welcoming person. Her Name was Colleen and she is the owner of the bed and breakfast. She quickly told us where to park and exactly how to enjoy the amenities of her property. There was a beautiful veranda which was a wrap around porch that looked over medicine Park. We spent a lot of time on that veranda that I have pictured below. The coyote den where we stayed was more like a studio apartment. I would say it's cozy with 6 and yes the bedroom was open to the living room. There was one bed, one pull out couch, and one long couch to sleep on. She did say that she will be updating the place more and more. She even offered her couch as additional sleeping. It's a very welcoming and homey atmosphere with snacks at the table and even 2 beers in the fridge to start off. If you are younger and enjoy drinking and hanging she is more then welcome to join and have a great time. She even brought out one of her favorite bottles of scotch from Scotland. She told us of amazing trails around the wildlife refuge and even about a music festival that was going on in the city center. We cooked out on the propane grill she provided and she even had a charcoal grill as well. The breakfast she prepared for us was amazing! I could not rave about this more. She brought out normal coffee but also French press coffee. She had eggs scrambled with hatch chiles from New Mexico, biscuits and gravy, prickly pear jam, rhubarb jam (both made fresh from her garden), and bacon. Seriously I could not promote this business more. I actually kind of want to keep it a secret it's so amazing. I even included a picture of Colleen enjoying breakfast with us.

Both were clean and comfortable. There are gorgeous wood floors throughout. It's actually an old storefront they built a 3-room Inn inside. Each room has a private bath, TV, fridge, and coffee maker. The beds are comfortable and there is free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms are fair size with showers. You cannot hear your neighbors as the last night we were there all 3 rooms were occupied. There's also a quiet lounge area in the front. The facility is coded entry. I highly recommend this place to stay at if you're in or near Elk City. You do need to book online in advance though if you want to stay here and I recommend booking through their website directly instead of a 3rd party site.
