Conveniently located, friendly staff! I still particularly like West Coast oysters more, these weren't that bad though. They had all the sauces and fixings that you could imagine.

Amazing oyster. Very delicate taste. Great service

Huge selection of oysters. Very high quality, amazing service, friendly staff. Fresh fish. They can cook it in the most healthier way. With mild seasonings or more based on your preferences

We stopped in for some food and education on east coast oysters. Upon entering the stores space we were greeted by the proprietor who then proceeded to share his knowledge of oysters. I had a favorite one in mind and with that info he was able to pull together a nice assortment of tasty options. My favorite was the French Kiss. BB

Some of the best oysters I have eaten in a long time. Great service, and good prices. A must visit!

Pro-tip: Join their frequent visitor program to recoup value from the pensive oysters. Service: 4* Taste: 5* Price: 3* Value: 3* Location: 5* Stopped by here for lunch before heading to the airport. Well worth it. We ordered two dozen oysters of various kinds. The setup was nice at a small set of bar stools with ample types of hot sauce. While expensive, the oysters were delicious, flavorful, fresh, and meaty. I would return.

Freshly shucked oysters with a good variety to choose from. The shop keeper explained the attributes of each oyster as we ordered a flight to try. Many sauces available to add as well. Overall, it's a great way to enjoy some oysters whole at st Lawrence market. They also offer a wide selection of fresh seafood.

Just exploring St Lawrence and couldn't help but to see people sitting around shucking oysters. Staff were beyond kind and helpful and the oysters are great. Extremely fresh and clean. Don't think you can really take any recommendations since everyone's got their own personal preferences. The only recommendation is that you gotta give them a shot. Did an order of 12 and got 1 free! Randomly selected based on the display and it's nice that they even write down on the tray which ones are which!

We had the best oysters here and the prices for a dozen were great. You won't get the ambiance of a restaurant and if you can get past views of the fish counter while you sit sandwiched in between the cooler and the bar then go! Awesome place

Mike's was the sole bright spot in our visit to the St. Lawrence Market (see my review on SLM for more details) and it wasn't just because we got to eat oysters for breakfast!! We were cruising around and discovered that the fish markets will shuck your oysters. We approached the first one we saw a little tentatively, not entirely sure that they would be shucking oysters at 10am. Everyone looked like they were still busy opening shop. Anyway, when a little Filipina lady saw us, she quickly bustled over and offered her help. After not seeing any in the rest of the market, we very much appreciated her hospitality. We ended up getting a dozen oysters (2 each of 6 varieties) and she quickly and expertly shucked them for us. (There were a few shards but no one's perfect.) Their standing bar was nicely stocked with hot sauces, sea salt, pepper, ponzu, etc. but she also ended up bringing lemon wedges, wasabi and three mignonettes out for us. This was interesting especially since we had to BUY the cocktail sauce?? Anyway, oysters were fresh and tasty. We slurped up our first breakfast and went on our merry way.

This is my go to spot for seafood at St. Lawrence Market. For the years I lived downtown I would walk here to get my various fish, smoked salmon and oysters. I always cook a good meal from here! I also love their spacious oyster bar. I feel other fish markets don't have a good designated area for me to enjoy freshly shucked oysters compared to Mike's. I went just this past weekend and the staff helping me out were amazing. I described what I liked and he helped me pick what he thought I would enjoy. He wasn't wrong! I ordered 5 and thought it was enough, but came back for a second order. Ha! It was super fresh and delicious. I highly recommend them if you're looking for good seafood.

I'm a second-generation satisfied customer, and particularly recommend their sushi-grade salmon and tuna, their store-made gravlax and smoked salmon, and oyster bar. Curbside pickup available on request; staff remain masked as of April 2022.

    Kabobs way over priced

Bought two kabobs with salmon and halibut. Terrible. No taste. Dry like they had been frozen. And extremely expensive. Definitely not worth it

I don't think the takeout platters are offered for dine in - which is one downside if you would like to eat it in the restaurant. Regardless, a great value for fresh and good cuts of fish for the platters! For take out, we ordered two x seasonal sashimi platters to do a DIY handroll and sushi night at home with some friends. The cuts they gave in the platter were premium pieces such as otoro, chutoro, scallop etc. Highly recommend for a DIY food night at home with family/friends! On the website, if you order and pick up yourself it is $120 for ~40 pieces+ and if you order on uber eats it is $140 per platter. We had a group of 6 so splitting the cost is $40-47 per person which is a great value for good quality fish. For dine in - we ordered a few different items and all were wonderful. I had the Deluxe Maguro Kaisen Don (~$50) and the cuts of tuna (otoro, chutoro) were melt in your mouth. We've also tried their set menus and this came with a variety of dishes. It came with sashimi appetizer, pork belly, your choice of udon (we chose the uni, crab and cream udon), and your choice of don (we chose the wagyu). The set comes with a decent amount of food for only $42, very worth the value and we were full! The uni didn't taste fishy, udon was very creamy, and the wagyu was tender in the don. My sister in law ordered a set with many different small dishes on the plate ($40). It was nice to try different seasonal ingredients and sample it in small portions to try it all. The other occasion we had for dine in was a few years ago, and we both had different set menus with Maguro Toro Don and unagi Don. That set was delicious as well and we thought it was cool to pour a broth into the don bowl at the end to make it like a soup. This restaurant is also half market where they sell to-go food/handrolls/frozen ramen etc. The groceries were mainly Japanese ingredients and snacks. The restaurant itself is not to big so it can fill up quick! I would recommend making reservation if you are coming in a large group on busier nights/weekends. Will definitely return if we are in the area!

I eat a lot of Japanese food on a regular basis and love to explore solid Japanese food around not only Toronto but wherever the map takes me. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with their food quality and taste. The presentation is phenomenal no doubt, but it also needs to taste the part. We got the salmon lover Don and two kinds of Aburi. The Aburi was difficult to eat because it kept on falling apart. Not bad, not excellent. The salmon don tasted good initially but ended with an extremely fishy aftertaste. With the price considered, I believe there are other better options. I think if they can focus on sourcing better quality fish, that would significantly improve the taste. Service was quite slow, however, the servers were kind. I understand that they were short staffed and were okay to wait. Overall, not bad, not excellent.
