I was referred to Milam Law and the first consultation I had with Jeffrey Milam all he did was brag about himself and well that fine but made it all about him. then after I already signed in because I really need help with getting disability for two health conditions I am battling it's a struggle to live with and to work. once I became a client I was talked to very disrespectful by Jeffrey Milam's wife who never wanted to give me her name. she told me it might take years to get approved and I'll either "Go homeless waiting or die waiting" those were her exact words. I was shocked. she got me so upset I started to cry because I was overwhelmed and humiliated and on top of that I don't feel well every day of my life and I was just trying to find some answers of where my case was. Jeffrey Milam I talked to about three times, the first time when I was introduced, the second time to tell him about his wife and he was very rude and did not care. and lastly to go over my hearing. It was not professional and what it said on the paper how hearing was going to go was different from what he said. But he's always right and your wrong as a client as he's shown me. I've had a lawyer for work and comp and I was treated and talked to with much more respect then this company had talked to me. they talk to me like I'm stupid and down grade me. Every question I ask makes me feel like it's a dumb question. I don't understand how can they think to treat a client this way and without clients they don't get paid and can't run a business without clients. I hired Milam law to take over my case that had been filed by a well known attorney seen on tv ads in LA area, 6 no. earlier. Every time i called to follow up on my case with the other attorney, someone different would answer the phone & knew absolutely nothing about my case. I never one time spoke with an attorney! Of course my claim was denied after 6 months & I decided I needed a local, more approachable & available attorney. That's when i found the Milam firm. When I called to inquire, the phone was answered by Jeff Milam himself! He patiently explained to me his background with the Socual Security system, & bleakly told me only about 10% of cases are changed at the first stage of appeal, Request for reconsideration, though he would do everything he could to provide information that would cause my claim to be favorable. He even explained why many attorneys intentionally try to drag out the case bc they get more money (from back pay). I called the Milam office a few times in the subsequent months & the receptionist was always able to access my case information. One time when a called, the phone was answered by the female portion of Milam law (Jeff's wife, also a licensed attorney). She also was gracious in answering my questions. During the months that followed, I saw another dr who wrote up an extensive report on my condition, including I am no longer able to walk without a cane or walker due to permanent nerve damage in both lower legs. I received a letter last week that I had been n approved & would begin receiving monthly payments, as well as a sizable back pay, of which , the attorney's portion will b paid directly. Attorney Milam, had a brief telephone call with me prior to my case going to court, which he indicated was court appearance training. Our early communications were poor. The judge had out of date information on the frequency in which one of my health problems was occurring. If Attorney Milam had accepted verbal information from me prior to court, during court preparation he should have seen the discrepancy and included my prescription records in data sent to the court, so the judge would have evidence that my medical issue occurred much of the year, rather than seldom. During the appeal process, Attorney Milam wrote what I thought was an impressive document. Still, the appeal was loss. Attorney Milam and I have since discussed possible reasons disability was denied, and are now committed to improve our communications and continue with efforts to get SSD approved. read more

I cannot stress enough that if you are applying for Social Security, you NEED an attorney! I whole-heartedly recommend Milam Law! Mine was one of those very difficult cases to win!
