Getting medical service is TOUGH as an expat in Italy…read more There is an assumption that medical service outside of the US is overall better, but that is not always the case, and it certainly depends on your situation. First of all, it can take almost 8-9 months to just enroll in the public health service...oh bureaucracy! Once you are in the system, don't expect to be able to see a doctor right away... it can take months before you see a doctor, depending on the situation. Depending on your work situation, if you work for a private company, you may be able to enroll in private insurance which offers great coverage and can help cover the costs at private clinics like this one. However, as usual, there are stipulations...oftentimes you have to wait six months before private insurance kicks in! So if you unfortunately need care prior to 1) getting in the public health system and 2) your private insurance kicks in, at least you can visit private clinics like Santagostino in the meantime and not pay *too* much (in reality, what you pay is usually around the same as a co-pay in the US...sometimes, a bit more than a co-pay in the US!). Standard visits (like gyno or dermatologist) at this clinic for women cost around 65 euros. Pap tests, colposcopies, or additional exams cost extra. Not too steep, yet still a hassle for most of us who'd rather not pay out of pocket...knowing others are able to take advantage of lower cost options! If you do have to schedule a gyno visit here, try to book a visit with Doctor Sala. She speaks English and has a great bedside manner. Super important traits for an expat seeking medical care in a foreign country! Only four stars because like the US, the assistant and support staff don't take initiative to follow up after they say they will...they'll tell you they'll help you schedule a follow-up appointment or referral to another doc, but then you never get the call and will have to do it yourself (my case exactly).

Dr. Freilich even provides a number on his business card, for which he let me know I could use to contact him with any updates/concerns regarding my symptoms. Dr. Freilich would always answer me promptly with medical advice even when I messaged him about my concerns later at night/during the weekend/while he was on a business trip. This doctor is really great at what he does and I definitely would remain a patient if I still lived in Milan.

I had a LPG session which was set in a luxurious, yet simple, treatment room on the second floor and the space was so peaceful. My therapist checked with me a few times to ensure my comfort. At some point during the treatment I got cold, and she kindly set a super soft and warm throw on me (made me wish the treatment lasted longer!). After the LPG session I was greeted with a cup of hot herbal tea. I felt so relaxed and comfortable that I booked a mani/pedi on the spot. The nail polish was applied with minutiae and it lasted a full week! I highly recommend this spa, and it's now on my "must" list in Milan.

I have been visiting milano two and a half week ago and have let my finger and toe nails done…read more(normal and french) The young chinese lady has been very nice and she spend a lot of time for me and afterwards they have been the most beautiful nails I ever had! Additionally, after an additional week of travelling and 1.5 weeks of work at home the polish is still complete, no scratch, no broken parts. I highly recommend this place and if I would not live in Switzerland I would be a regular costumer at this place!
