A whole shop dedicated mustard? Seriously? How different can they really be? Pretty different it turns out, and mighty delicious! I tried about 10 styles of mustard and took a couple home along with some super tangy mustard pickles that works well with meat and cheese. The lady who welcomed us was pleasant to chat to, not at all pushy and encouraged us to try everything. read more
If you're anywhere near Milawa you really do have to drop into Milawa Mustard. It's located in the heart of a foodie precinct (multiple winery's, the cheese factory, olive shop, bakery, walkabout Aperies, Brown Brothers Epicurean centre). There are about 20 or 25 different mustards to try and you are encouraged to try them all. Ordered from mild flavours to wow hot hot, it's worth trying as many as you can as they are all distinctly different. This time I left with a horseradish mustard and a dill and lemon mustard salad dressing. All these mustards are the grainy type. This is a well established locally owned business that's been around for decades. I remember coming here more than 20 years ago with my grandparents. It hasn't changes much, it's still a quality establishment. The lady in charge was very friendly, and happy to provides some local knowledge about the mustards, about some of the other products for sale (relish, honey ect) and the district. No pressure to purchase. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. read more
