There are two short trails that are less than a mile each. The Streamwatch Trail takes you along the water and even has a little underwater fish viewing area. There weren't any fish in March, but it must be pretty cool to watch the fish underwater during busier seasons. The Wetlands Trail takes you along a wooden boardwalk to literally go through a wetland area. Most of these trails are stroller/wheelchair friendly, but there are some parts that are on dirt and gravel, which may be a little trickier. There are also a lot of picnic tables along the Streamwatch trail, which would be perfect in warmer weather.

We took both the Wetlands and Streamwatch trails. You've got to be verrry careful right now on the oh-so slippery boardwalks of the Wetlands. It was very icy throughout the entire trail. The Streamwatch trail winds you through picnic areas, along the river, and by the underwater viewing area. We drove around past other trails and over to the family meadow and picnic area. Plenty of parking and the restrooms that were open were clean. There were a few structures and trail aspects that needed some tending to, but overall it's a lovely recreation area...peaceful now but probably loads of fun for families in the springtime!

She had just turned old enough to qualify and started skateboarding only last summer. Although still relatively new to the sport, she felt totally comfortable and confident joining thanks to the warm, supportive environment. One of her favorite moments was getting to skate with Kaci Woolf, which truly inspired her. From a parent's point of view, everything about the camp was well organized, safe, and thoughtfully run. The food was delicious, the daily routine was solid, and the staff were attentive and encouraging. We especially want to thank Coach Joseph, who not only kept a close eye on our daughter but also earned her complete trust. Because she felt so supported, she was willing to try new tricks and push herself further than ever before. Our daughter brought her phone with her, but barely contacted us during the week--clearly, she was too busy having fun. That made Coach Joseph's thoughtful updates even more meaningful to us. Every message and photo he shared showed her smiling, skating, and thriving. The only minor issue was that one of her shoelaces broke partway through the week, and unfortunately the camp store didn't carry replacements. It was a small hiccup, but a good reminder of how tough skateboarding can be on shoes. When we picked her up, the very first thing she said was, "I want to come back for two weeks next year!" She came home full of joy, confidence, and new friendships. We're deeply grateful for the experience and would absolutely recommend this camp to other families.

You can bring your own gear, or use theirs for free! No license required since it is a farm. You will pay based on inches of the fish, and they will gut it and cut it and you will be on your way to a delicious dinner!!

"We've visited this fish farm many times, but this visit was extremely upsetting. The staff refused to give us the equipment we needed and spoke to us in a harsh, unprofessional way. When the owner came over, he was aggressive, told me not to speak, and asked our whole group to leave -- including our two kids (9 and 11) who were checking in with us, and even my daughter's Girl Scout group who had not spoken to him at all. Just incredible!…read more Worth every penny! These folks know their stuff when it comes to fishing for steelhead! Just returned from their full day winter steelhead class and loved it! The shop is very organized and has the teaching down to a science. They offer a 2 day package where they will take a novice single hand fly fisher to use a 2 handed rod in a one crash course day. Fly fishers who use 2 handed rods are called spey anglers. Most of the class did not bring a spey rod and was provided with one from the guides. Then the second day is the actual time on the water learning how to read the waters, rig up your spey rod, and fish the long stretch of the Sandy river in cold waters, rainy weather, and large waves of water. Mark Bachmann and Hawkeye Hawkins were the instructors teaching how to spey cast. The class helps you focus on presenting the fly instead of worrying about what type of fly or how to rig it. The shop has everything for the fly fisher! I had to buy a 2 day fishing license which was done quickly, grabbed some flies, got a new 3D skagit line, and some tools. The shop provided the instruction at their conference room in the back of the shop which was great to receive classroom instruction. Ted Neely was our guide on the Sandy River for the second day. Ted is a local guide who has the guiding, boating, and instructor skills for anyone wanting to fish on the Sandy, Deschutes, or Clackamas rivers. Ted took us down the very scary (to me) Sandy river between Dodge Park and Dabney Park thru some very hairy white water rapids on his pontoon boat. Ted knows the river well, has all the fishing spots covered, and navigates thru all the water with ease. Ted provided a hot lunch which was very welcome after going thru rain, waves, and fishing. If you are new to going down the rapids on top of pontoon boat, make sure you cover this with Ted prior to your trip. You have to be dressed well from head to toe. Luckily I had all the gear including breathable winter waders, river boots w/ cleats, thermal fleece and wool underneath as well as wading jacket. If you are not prepared you will get cold! Take all your stuff in a waterproof dry/boat bag because the rapids will wash you from head to toe! Definitely a great experience with a great guide who knows his local waters. People from all over the country came to this class which means a lot for those who want to learn how to fish for these elusive creatures. I learned so much in one day that I am now confident in returning to fish for winter steelhead fish! The class practiced catch and release to keep the fishery active for all. Totally amazing class - must do for anyone interested in learning how to take years off fishing for steelhead.

We did that twice through them, circa 2014. And, recently we were camping at Clackamas Lake for an Ultra-Trail Race in July, and we decided to rent a canoe on a whim at Timothy Lake. Once, we found out where the Outfitters were set up by the Dam, they were really easy to work with. We were able to run a credit card, and they provided life jackets- we were even able to take our doggo with us (who had a life jacket). And, the whole transaction took less than 5 minutes, and we were on the lake! It was really low key, and low pressure, and convienent. I will definitely be using this company in the future. I also would speculate some of the other reviews were for different look-alike-sound-alike company names, perhaps they were not Mt. Hood Outfitters. They are the perfect component to a great summer vacation day!
