We've never went to a trout farm before. What an absolute blast! 15 of us went fishing this morning. It was super peaceful. Fun to see all the fish swimming around. I didn't catch anything but a few other people in my group did. It's super cool they clean the fish for you.

Family friendly | lots of fun guaranteed Our 6 yr old daughter has been into fishing since she was 2 yrs old. She started off with a Fisher Price fishing kit and then was given a real set of her own. We took her to places like Bishop, Leavenworth, Clear Lake and Lost Lake, and other camping spots to practice her casting, but yesterday was her first time catching REAL trout! This may be the highlight of the summer for her. Easy to navigate finding this trout farm. There are signs everywhere in what seems like a residential place. We were greeted by this friendly woman who gave us fishing rods, some worms, a bucket with some water, and a net. She told us that ponds 1 & 2 have smaller fish, ponds 3-5 have medium to big fish, and the pond further in the back has the biggest fish. They were restocking ponds 4 & 5 when we arrived on a Tuesday. This is an excellent place to take your kids and for everyone to learn how to fish. We were told by friends and family we were guaranteed to catch fish here, so we expected to easily get our first one within an hour of arriving, but we ended up spending a couple of hours here first before catching our first one. We learned a lot! Everyone was catching fish all around us, so we stepped up our luring game and bought a small jar of power bait. We even put a worm with the power bait and that's when we started catching fish. I did see some folks catch with just a worm on their hook, and there were some others with power bait. My kid was so excited to catch her first fish. It's exciting to feel the fish fight back when you reel them in. We caught 3 trout at pond 5. There are benches to sit on. Lots of trees for some shade. Two 13" and one 14" rainbow trout is what we walked away with. The man at the cleaning station was friendly and did everything for us. All we had to do is show up and have fun at this place. Two portable potties in the parking lot and flushing toilets near the cleaning station. In the women's restroom there is a smaller toilet for the kids next to an adult toilet. I thought that was very accommodating. Vending machines for drinks and snacks.

    Fish on!

We brought family that was visiting from out of state, to the farm and they had a blast! There was 8 kids between our two families and all the kids had a chance to reel in a trout. The staff and owner are very kind and helpful in getting us started, they even walked by a couple times and checked to make sure we were doing ok. The fish cleaning is an added bonus! To the owner- my niece thanks you for the skittles! You made her day!

When we visit every fall with the kids from CA we always make it a point to visit this Trout Farm. It's always a memorable time and this time was no different. The same family has been running it since our kids were younger and they have always been accommodating. It's also a very affordable experience and one that will always create memories.

Perfect for families, or anyone that wants to fish for the day and not buy a license. We had a great time!

Our great catch for the day!

This is an updated review. We had a very pleasant experience this time. Friendly staff but still too expensive.

Barton Park: Beautiful River, Cozy Neighbors…read more 4 stars Put in, take out that's about all Barton Park is good for... and honestly, it does that pretty damn well. I'm giving Barton Park four stars, and the first two or three are basically for location, location, location. Sitting right on the Clackamas River, this place is absolutely beautiful and makes a great launching point for rafts, tubes, fishing, boating, camping, or just finding a way to cool your backside down during an Oregon summer. The Clackamas River has been part of this area's story for generations, from the pioneers traveling the old Barlow Road to the Chinook peoples and the Clackamas people who have long had a strong connection to this river. Today, Barton Park is still all about getting people connected to the water although these days we arrive with coolers, floaties, camping chairs, and sunscreen instead of covered wagons. For me, Barton is one of my favorite tubing spots. I love putting in at McIver and floating down to Barton, or going from Barton toward Carver. On a hot summer day, there's nothing better than climbing into that cold Clackamas water and letting the river do the driving. Now, the camping... that's where things get interesting. Privacy? Let's just say Barton believes in the concept of community. Our campsite was so close to the neighbors that after a while, I felt like we were all part of one giant dysfunctional family. You could hear everything babies crying, kids running around, conversations, people coming and going. And then there was the funny lady next door, who apparently had no problem providing free entertainment for the entire campground. The bathrooms can get packed, too, and if you're looking for peaceful solitude where all you hear is birds chirping and the river flowing, you might occasionally find yourself thinking, "I could have just stayed home and opened a window." But that's the trade-off. You're close to town, you've got the river right there, plenty of amenities, and a great place to spend a summer day. If you don't mind being packed in like a bunch of happy campers at a family reunion, Barton Park is your showboat. For me, the river makes it worth it. Four stars. Beautiful location, great access to the Clackamas, and one of my favorite places to cool off and float. Just don't come here expecting your campsite neighbors to be strangers you'll probably know their children's names, their bathroom schedule, and possibly their entire life story by the time you leave.

We stayed across from the restrooms and showers. Really convenient. The campgrounds are huge. Very clean and not far from where we live. It was a great time and close to our home. Rafting plans had brought us here. A great place to camp and the hit the river nearby.
