The 2nd one had more flavors but it looked less fresh. They do not allow dogs or skateboards in this area. They have live music and vendors that include baked goods, honey, local produce/vegetables/fruits, house decor, spicy jams, jams, cookies, cupcakes, food trucks, thinly sliced potato on a stick, and much more. It was a crowded event with lots of families/children. The sidewalk is narrow so people end up walking alongside the grass area. I like that this market is different than most farmer's market because of the craft element. I saw yarn animals, handcrafted wood furniture, and some other really neat craft projects.

Our daughter loved browsing around, sampling chocolate milk and meat snacks. Our favorite vendors were the homemade pasta guy who we remembered from years ago, a spot that has a bunch of homemade pickles, and lavender flavored honey from a third spot. We bought fresh corn on our way out, definitely noticed a lot of varying price differences for the same items but I guess that's part of the experience! Our daughter had a donut and a hotdog from a food truck during our visit. We spent close to an hour here and I could have spent longer but also probably would have purchased even more goodies... perhaps next time!! A saturday morning well spent.

Wendy's Country Market is the retail store version of Wendy's mobile market, which links up piles of local food producers (from Buffalo meat to baby lettuce heads) to individual customers, wholesalers and restaurants. Needless to say, come Spring and through Fall Wendy and Rick are busy people. Good thing they have an adorably floppy Basset Hound riding shotgun on deliveries. Anyway, the store is out in the boonies. But if you're around the area/looking for a country drive it's a great place to stop in. Wendy and whatever relative/friend is working can give you a rundown on pretty much every product in there. Plus it's in an old school house with lots of the original interior. Neato.

This is a great little market located in the town of Wellington in Prince Edward Count (PEC). There are two major highlights that put this market into a league of it's own. 1- There is a French Canadian lady selling home made pies. OMG this was amoung the best pies I've ever had. We went for a berry pie. It was loaded, I mean loaded, with a thick layer of filling made from fresh local berries. YOu could see whole berries right there before your eyes. The crust was to die for and it was just all around awesome. 2- And this was the real highlight! The community had come together to sponsor a refugee family from Syria to settle in PEC. The family started a food service business. They make hummus and other middle eastern spreads as well as pitas and chips. At the market they offer a falafel plate. OMG these are hands down the best falafels that I've ever had. Light, crispy, flavourful, so amazing!! These are not in anyway comparable to the falafels that you might have eaten elsewhere. The taste and texture are so much better. Honestly I'd go back to PEC just for the falafels and so should you.... I'd also buy 8 pies while I was there ;-)

I like the south East Asian food truck that comes here. They sell mostly fruits and vegetables. They even have some exotic Asian fruits at one of the stands (ex: rambutan). The market takes place Tuesday's 7-3 pm but is closed during the winter months. They also sell honey, cheese, jam, syrup and much more. I think it's cash only.

They should change the name maybe - I didn't really see any farmers or maybe one or two....I mostly look for fresh produce...there is some, but more here are the jams/jellies/baked goods/cheese offerings...and I can get those less expensive elsewhere. Wanted a slice of pizza, but the food truck here only sells whole pizzas? what's up with that? I thought food trucks were for take away foods, not foods you carry home to share with your people. Odd. Back to the regional market for me.

A store where more than 90% of the products are gluten free may not…read morebe a novelty any more, but in this part of the province, and with this high quality of goods, it certainly is a destination in and of itself. Most of the goods are commercially available products, and there is almost everything you need to eat well right there. But they also have a bakery and kitchen that churns out some very high quality prepared products such as soups, pies, pastas, even a homemade tourtiere which is excellent! The gluten free bakery turns out some delicious and texturally appealing GF products (I like the sourdough buns) but you can determine your own favourites. Now that I have found it, I will be stopping in every time I am in the County.
