Scott and his wife stayed late that night to observe my dog after the unscheduled surgery, which started at 5pm.

It's incredibly surprising the lack of dog boarding options in Moab given the fact that dog…read morefriendly activities, especially in the National Parks, are so limited. I was in town and last minute had to put my pup in daycare. I went to the town visitor center for advice and Anthony of Moab Dog Adventures was highly recommended by both staff members. Honestly, I was a little taken aback by the cost- for 10 hours of daycare I ended up paying around $40. However, the other two options were either a kennel at the vet for $15 or Karen's K9 Campground. My high energy dog needs a lot of exercise so all day in a kennel was a no go. I did try to contact Karen, but she was out of town or otherwise unavailable the day I needed boarding so I went with Moab Dog Adventures and I'm glad I did. Not only does Anthony have an enclosed yard and two dogs to entertain your pup for the day, he can also take your dog on hikes and trips to the off leash park. The day I dropped off my dog, they spent most of their time at his home (where he runs his business from) which was more than enough- she slept through the night as soon as I picked her up. Anthony was great with my high energy dog and I highly recommend him for travelers finding themselves in need of some dog help while visiting Moab!

I paid him for the service ahead of time, but was baffled when I found out that he failed to show up and take my dog out while I was away at work for 7-8 hours! It was so heartbreaking for me to see her at the end of that day. She was left in her kennel the entire time!! The least I would have expected was a phone call to inform me that he wasn't coming. The really sad part is after I had a bad feeling that Anthony wasn't showing up, I had to leave the dog leashes left a particular way to even get him to admit that he didn't show! Extremely unreliable and unprofessional. I would not reccomend Anthony for any services regarding you pet at all. What he did was borderline animal abuse and frankly fraudulent.

If you want more details, read on: We were visiting Moab for a long weekend in May 2021 and needed a daycare so we could do some hiking and canyoneering. I made 2 daycare reservations for our 11-year-old pup. I should have listened to my instincts when we arrived. The actual facility looks nothing like the online photos. Even though Tracey has a designated drop-off and pick-up hour, she was absent during drop-off until I finally called to make sure we had the right address. She was out walking a dog, which should have been my next 'alarm bell' that something wasn't quite right. Why would a dog need walked, if they're in an open play area all day? And if she's out walking dogs, who is supervising the daycare? At pick-up time, we arrived to find about 8 people that had been waiting for 30+ minutes, and Tracey was again absent. All the dogs are barking inside the barn, the office door was closed & lights off, and the barn door was cracked for airflow. When she finally arrived ~ 40 minutes into the pick-up hour, she was irritated that the parents were upset about her tardiness. She literally opened the door and started releasing dogs without leashes. Meanwhile, the dog parents are trying to catch the dogs, corral them away from cars, etc. Our pup was terrified as random people were trying to catch her to get a leash on her. Tracey was completely unfazed by the chaos as the dogs ran loose in the parking lot. Overall, I suspect that the dogs are kept in cages all day in the horse barn, and Tracey generally is not present all day. We obviously did not return for the next day's daycare reservation. I was willing to forgo a $500 private canyoneering/rappelling excursion, rather than trust Tracey with our pup for another day. Our canyoneering guide came through with a last-minute reservation at another daycare in Moab that was GREAT.

And Tracey had just opened her kennel within the month (March 2017.) Yes, it was a last resort for us, but also the best option! We especially appreciated Tracey's kindness and gentleness with us and our canine daughter, Bree. She was shaking when she went in, unsure of her first RV trip and being left in a foreign place. But after being held by Tracey, Bree became more calm, making it easier for us to leave with our minds at ease. There were other small to medium dogs there that day and they all played wonderfully together. I'm sure it's a testament to Tracey's knowledge and love for dogs. Getting there can be just a little tricky, so just be aware... It's about 5-8 minutes south of downtown Moab, between mile markers 118 and 119. Enter at the "Moab Business Park" sign on the east side of the highway where there are white tin, rounded, warehouse-like facilities. Veer to the left and there it is on the right. Now go and enjoy the beauty around Moab as your furry friends enjoys a good play date (or sleep over.) Ours did, and slept well that night in our RV home away from home.

We had took her in and told them EVERYTHING! She was very sick, they told us they'd start with X-rays to make she didn't have a blockage. 6 hours later, we went to go get her. All the told us was they gave her anti nausea medicine, sent her home with different food and said "there was no blockage she's okay." They also said they took her outside and she "perked right up." "She hasn't thrown up at all while here" our baby girl proceeded to gag as soon as we got in the car. Progressively got worse since the moment she left. 2 days later she died. We took her to a second vet the next day after cottonwood, where they proceed to check her right away and said she's EXTREMELY dehydrated, and couldn't believe cottonwood didn't give her an IV, AFTER KNOWING SHE HADN'T EATEN OR DRANK IN DAYS. Amigo vet gave her IVs, tested her for parvo (negative) amigo told us she was extremely sick. My baby bled out of her but. She was extremely sick going into cottonwood, and they neglected our baby girl. 2 days after her passing, I talked to her doctor in person Dr. Hoest. I had asked her why they didn't give piper an IV. She quite literally SHRUGGED her shoulders. Continued to tell us, they checked if she was dehydrated, said she was. Were we told that when picking her up from there. NO, I was not. We were told nothing else but that she didn't have a blockage, THEY SAID SHE WAS OKAY. Whatever you do, don't take your baby here. Take them somewhere people actually care, Dr. Hoest chooses which clients she would like to GENUINELY care for. Yea it's cheaper here, but is it really worth the risk? Dr. Hoest neglected my dog, didn't do her job they way she should have. do NOT bring your pets here!
