This is a heartbreaking review. I was planning on spending 2 days with my dying dog but they ended up having to put him to sleep. I called late, like 9pm last night from my cell in an RV park not too far away. They were willing to travel to me but I ended up going to the. They readily agreed to put my dog to sleep in my RV so he wasn't scared. They let me feed Cargo tons of treats and a raw steak before. She listened to his heart and confirmed it was failing again. And they let me hold him and talk to him as long as I wanted. We talked about the breed and how he was incredibly lucky to like 13 years as Weimaraner's tend to like roughly 11years. Although I don't remember the names, they were sisters and the tech gave me a big hug afterwards as I was uncontrollably sobbing. They were patient and kind and gracious to a stranger who was passing through taking her best friend on one last road trip. My dog decided to feast on a decaying mule deer metacarpal while briefly unattended and got a stomach bug. I called Moab Vet Clinic and the lady on the phone was kind and helpful. They were able to get me in quickly. Prices were very reasonable and all of the staff was extra friendly. A local customer was very unkind to me because my dog was being vocal and suggested I go outside.... the worker at checkout made sure to mention that she noticed what happened and my dog was fine and I never needed to go outside. This was one of the best experiences we've had when traveling with our pets. We were in Moab for two nights and needed somewhere to board our dogs and cat while we hiked the national parks. The staff was so friendly and kind, answered all our questions. Our pets were in great hands. Will definitely use them again next time we're in Moab. I've day boarded my dog here in July 2023 & October 2023. She's a 60 lb pittie and very attached to me so she becomes a big nervous baby when we are apart from each other. The techs & receptionist were always so patient with her and made it easy to pick her up and drop her off each day while I went to explore Moab. For day boarding drop off Mon-Fri was 8 am & pick up was BY 4:45 pm. Weekend hours differed. It was $33/day for day boarding which was very reasonable. Dogs came back dehydrated, so horse they can't bark, lethargic and depressed, and completely covered in shit. Was on a road trip from Los Angeles to Chicagoland when my dog Princeton became ill. The Vet on call was incredibly professional and compassionate and listened to all of my concerns. Since the clinic opened in an hour and a half, instead of making me pay the Urgent Care fee they were able to squeeze me in between patients when they opened. They took the best care of mt pup and had him back on the road and feeling better with fluids and anti nausea medications within the hour. Staff was also incredibly personable. Would recommend to anyone local or traveling to the Moab area who needs care. read more

I was very grateful that they saved my dog's life, but very bad bedside manner and almost got sent home with wrong diagnosis. Was throwing up white foam and was having a hard time breathing after eating something, he was puffing and freezing up while we raced to get him emergency service because of his breathing problems. While we were there we had to file paperwork work while they slowly got him to where we could check him out, they listened to his heart and told us he had heart problems then had X-rays done and they told us there was a tumor on the heart, telling us we could get medication and take him to see a doctor closer to my city . My friend had pointed out it could be something he was choking on because of the way it was shown on the X-ray. They were very facile about checking out what was wrong with my dog until given another proposal from my friend, ended up putting a camera down his throat to find out he has been choking on a bone for almost 2 hours. Grateful to say they saved my dog's life but very subpar. read more

SO thankful this vet had a boarding opening during our stay in Moab. The hotel that we stayed at threatened to report any dog left alone in a room to animal services. My dog was clean when we picked him up and the staff was very friendly. They even gave him his bordetella shot to stay there. read more

Horrible place to leave your dog. Bunch of uninterested individuals that worked there (September 2020) when we left our dog to explore the area. We gave her food and asked that they give it to her at dinner time. When we came the following morning, I asked the blonde girl if my dog got the food. She literally looked like if I asked her if she has pop corn to sell. She said she had no idea. I asked if someone wrote any note or anything how did she behave...Another blank stare...She went in to ask about the food and came back with our dogs food in her hand to return to us. No apology and no explanation. My poor dog stormed out of there.Now I am checking places for dog day care again in Moab and not much choice unfortunately..But will not take her there if this was the last place on Earth. I believe she was in a crate all the time. No body checked on her. They did not give her food even! They just took the money. read more

We were visiting Moab in April 2021 and day boarded our dog. I should have known it was not a good situation when I learned there was no one at the clinic on Saturdays from noon to 4, when you pick up your dog. When we picked up our dog his foot was bloody from jumping up and catching it on the top of the gate in his enclosure. No one at the clinic noticed anything but we saw right away he was injured when we got him in the car.The vet was called in and had to close the wound with staples. I would not recommend boarding on weekends. If something happens to your pet there is no one around to help. I don't know if it is any better during the week. read more

Although Dr. Sorensen has been useful in the past, my most recent experience with Dr. Mikelsen was highly subpar, and I will never return to this vet. My dog developed a cough and started to cough up blood, so I took her in. When I arrived, no one greeted or acknowledged me until I told them who I was and why I was there. The waiting area and exam room was dirty and smelled foul. After waiting for 30 minutes, I was seen by Dr. Mikelsen. The first thing that happened was paperwork was handed to her and she scowled and rolled her eyes and told this person to find the right paperwork. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary. I told Dr. Mikelsen the symptoms, and she asked no questions other than "Does she normally pant like that?" The dog was scared and panting out of nervousness, which I told her. She also looked at the paperwork and said that she was not up on her vaccines, and I told her as this is not my regular vet, she is completely vaccinated at another vet. She then said there was a resistant strain of kennel cough going around. When I asked if coughing up blood was a symptom, she said it could be from her airway being irritated. My dog had coughed up some sputum when I arrived, but the vet had just scowled, and it was cleaned up and not saved for analysis. Dr. Mikelsen took x-rays, then called me in and said she had nothing stuck in her throat, but the x-rays were worrisome. She said it looked like lung cancer. I said I had not noticed any change in my dog except in the last few days, and asked to see the x-ray, and only then did she show it to me. She then prescribed a pill for kennel cough and told me to call in 10 days if it didn't get any better. I then called my regular vet and asked about the blood and kennel cough, which he said had never seen, and he re-arranged his schedule to be able to see me the next morning. I brought the x-rays, but my regular vet was unable to read them and had to take more. He discovered no sign of lung cancer whatsoever, and he also did blood tests to check her white blood cell count, which was normal. When my dog coughed up sputum at this vet, they analyzed it and discovered non-cellular particulates, and asked me if there were any time in the last 10 days that she could have been exposed to particles in the air--which she had, since I recently sanded my floor. Even without a brachioscope, they explored all avenues, asked me questions, treated my dog and me kindly, and were able to find the cause of the problem. The sadness, fear, and trauma I experience via the indication that my dog could have cancer was absolutely unnecessary. If the equipment in Moab made diagnosis at all difficult, that should have been indicated and I should have been referred for a second opinion. The dispension of antibiotics without clear indication of its ability to help is a dangerous practice. I am relieved that I trusted my own judgement, used the internet and called my vet to research symptoms, did not give my dog this medicine, and have my excellent vet in Grand Junction. read more

A great place to board your dog for the day while you check out Arches and Canyonlands. The staff is kind and it's a great price!

While on our trip to Moab to see The Arches and Canyonlands one of our Dachshunds became very sick and we had to take him in to the Vet. We picked the Moab Veterinary Clinic because it was just down the road from where we were staying and I can't tell you how happy I am that we did. We walked in the clinic at 8 a.m. and within 15 minutes we were being seen by one of the Vets and she was GREAT! Our little guy is very nervous and she treated him with love and respect. It turned out that he has pneumonia and was dehydrated. They immediately gave him a shot of antibiotic and an iv of water solution and then gave us a prescription for pills and some canned dog food all at an amazing low price! When we walked into that clinic my little buddy couldn't hardly walk, he wouldn't eat and we had to force water down his throat, well, it has been 15 hours and I am happy to say that with the help from the great people at this clinic my little buddy is already started to feel better and move around more. read more

Needed a place to leave my good buddy on short notice. We were told by a competitor that the dogs were left on hot cement in a shelter. I thought I would check for myself and found that to be completely false. The dogs and cats are kept indoors in air conditioned quarters. They are let out two to three times daily and allowed to play with other guests. If your dog is skittish or a bit tough on the social scale, they can have a separate run and are interacted with separately. The cost was $18 whether it's just for day care or an overnight. The staff was friendly and attentive to my needs. I would definitely use them again when in Moab. read more

I had to find a place to board my doggy while I was in Moab. I was happy to bring him with me for the ride from Nevada, but the camp I was staying at with my group didn't allow dogs. The staff here were very friendly and I was very happy to see my doggy got outside playtime with other pups.. This place in incredible! They truly care and love all animals. My daughter found a stray kitten in need of medical care. Humane Society would not take this poor little kitten "until it had been treated". The Mill Creek Animal hospital would not treat the kitten until animal control agreed to pick up the kitten after treatment. I was given the number to dispatch in order to contact animal control...dispatch said it was out of their jurisdiction. No one would help my poor daughter who was in tears!!! But Dr. Sorenson's staff was kind and made my daughter feel good about saving a kitten and doing the right thing!! Dr. Sorenson's staff is invaluable! read more

They took excellent care of my cat Murphy. And they're good sports too. Murphy did say he wasn't allowed to hang out with the horses like he does at home but he's also an escape artist so he was better off inside. And all of their animal restrooms are gender neutral. Murphy did say they treated the transgender parrot with respect too. read more

Traveling around New Mexico and Utah with a friend and my dog Charlie. Charlie started having progressively intense diarrhea and then vomiting. I called the Moab Vet Clinic around 7:00 a m on a Sunday morning and the phone was answered by Dr Johnson. After I explained the severity of Charlie's diarrhea, she told us that she would meet us at the office. Of course I was worried and upset about Charlie's condition but Dr Johnson and her assistant were calm and caring which put me more at ease. Charlie was given hydration and a prescription and 24 hrs later he is much better. I was treated like a long-time client and neighbor. Thank you! Thank you!
