Gord and I had supper at Mill Street Brew Pub last evening. I had Buttermilk Chicken Tenders and Fries with plum sauce on the side and Gord had Bang Bang Shrimp (crispy coated shrimp, chili aioli, sesame seeds, nori dust, scallions). Both were good. I left a lot of fries and took a couple chicken tenders home for lunch today. Lucy was friendly and took good care of us.

We stepped in on a rainy day and had a great time. The mushroom taco was alright, but the cinnamon roll Belgium was worth the rain detour!

A gigantic beer hall with different vibes available at different sections - indoors, outdoors, at the bar, in sofa, on high stools, pick what you need. Always maintain ~10 standard kegs and another ~10 seasonal, changing kegs. A great place to chill and have a beer after you explored the distillery district.

December 18/2024: Distillery District Xmas visit with my Al/Tony/Heather & Red. This was a good meal. I had the Clementine Sour Beer. It was excellent! H very tasty & sour, just the way I like it. My main was the Korean Christy Chicken Sandwich. It was delicious as well. They've upped their game here. Our server "Nic" was very effective & patient with the table of 5. Under the circumstances I'd thought they'd want to get us out as quickly as possible. I didn't feel rushed or neglected. I'd go again.

This was much better than our last visit. We were sat in at the bar area and the bartender was great - really funny and enjoyable to deal with. We started off with a flight and I tried all their stouts on offer and then I fell in love with the cookies and cream. So much so that after dinner we went back to watch the hockey game. Unfortunately the bar/lounge area with all the TV's was closing? That seemed odd. So we were led to the more restaurant area where we had TV's but it was odd they didn't turn on the sound for a game like this. I didn't really mind; I was just there for more cookies and cream.

Food was fine. This is a brewery so expect that I kind of fare. It was a treat to see shrimp and shishito peppers on the menu. The service was good. The dining space was clean. The calamari may need a bit more flavor.

Looking for a late evening place to eat in the Distillery District, we came across this popular brewpub. Super friendly hostesses got us a great table. Super friendly waiter got us settled in right away and we started ordering a bunch of appys. Food presentation was nice and was very tasty!

With high hopes with this location in the Distillery District, Beer was mid, and food was pricey for a pizza. Ambiance was not unlike other breweries in the area. Did not stand out as a culinary stop. Store had some branded merch, but was not stocked when I went.

If you happened to be in distillery district and in a pinch, go for a drink but not to eat here. Snack maybe but not meal2. The poutine is so sad no flavour, little cheese curd. The pot pie's top crust is fine but there's no flavour on the pie itself. Super bland. The beer selection is decent, the bartender knows his beer and he gave me 2 taste of the beer/cider/sour that I want to try and I go with his suggestion for cider. We were there around 1 pm on Saturday, very quiet still so it's nice for us to hang out there

We have tried lots of spots in the DD. First time here. Huge dining room and also huge patio space in the summer. Staff were fine if somewhat sparse. (It was so so busy) Had the wings and sweet potatoes fries. Both excellent. Hubby and I shared the chocolate cake for dessert. Also very good. Thought it was a little pricey for pub style food, but everything was tasty. Parking is in nearby lots.

We went for lunch and the tofu lettuce wrap and the fallafel Buddha bowl were both divine! Would come back just to order these two dishes. They have a nice outdoor patio. It's nice to eat in the Distillery district - a historic part of the city.

Fun stop at the Winter Village. We were hungry for lunch and this location looked like it had a fair amount of tables available. I ordered the burger, my son the tenders, and my husband had the chicken salad. I ended up giving half my burger to my husband as the salad wasn't as large as the price suggested and the burger was too much for me to eat. The toffee ale was delicious. My husband had the espresso martini which he enjoyed. Cute ambiance. Team was very friendly. Service was quick and excellent.

    Pretzel appetizer
    Rachel S.

Came here for lunch with my husband on a weekday. We ordered their pretzel appetizer, French fries, chipotle pizza, zatar cauliflower, a beer (don't remember which one), and peppermint hot chocolate. Total came out to approximately $82 (without tip). What's hot - Service. Their staff was friendly and helpful in answering our questions about the menu. My husband was debating as to which beer to order, so our waitress provided a small sample for him to try, which was nice. We were also able to get in and out of there in 45 minutes, which was helpful. Sounds silly, but because we paid for parking nearby, the amount of time service took was something we had to be mindful of. - Quality. Their fries are delicious and you can taste the quality. Served warm, which definitely helped us enjoy it more. Their pretzel appetizer was warm, chewy and well seasoned with sea salt. Their beer cheese sauce was flavorful and their mustard was combined with horseradish, which we loved. It's difficult to come across a quality pretzel, especially one that is well-seasoned with sea salt and has good dipping sauces. This one definitely hits the mark. Their peppermint hot chocolate comes with Bailey's and broken up pieces of peppermint. Very delightful and helped warm us up on a windy day. The cauliflower zatar was delicious, as well. The cauliflower was tender and the sauce was flavorful, light, and unique. - Price. Reasonable, given the portions and quality. - Location. Easy to find in the distillery district. What's not - Pizza. Their chipotle pizza wasn't bad, but wasn't that good. First, their pizzas are thin crusts and hubby and I prefer thicker crusts. For having jalapeños on the chipotle pizza, we couldn't taste any spice. The flavor wasn't very unique, nor did it stand out. Disappointing. - Chairs. Their high stool chairs are somewhat wobbly, which I wasn't a fan of. Also difficult to move around and get in a good placement next to my husband. - Portions. The cauliflower dish is certainly not enough to get you full. It's about half head of cauliflower. I was surprised it doesn't come with brown rice or any other accompaniment. My husband's pizza also wasn't enough to get him full, which is why he ordered the fries at the end of our meal. Final answer Willing to come back, but maybe not a first choice.

One of the staff recommended eats is the cheeseburger and duck wings. The smash burger and fries is very addicting. Maybe one of the best smash burgers I've had in a while. The duck wings are a generous portion size and a tasty sticky kind of goodness. We originally wanted brussel sprouts but it sold out so opted for the beet salad which is pretty good too. All in all, I'm surprised the food is so good! I may have enjoyed it more than the flight of beers we ordered. I told the staff to choose a selection for us. The CPA is one I prefered most among the ones I tried, with a bit more floral or complex notes than the rest. This family-run brewery and restaurant was converted from a small church and has been opened for a couple of years. Find your own seat, order and pay in the front and food would be sent to your table. The tip range suggested the same as a full service restaurant. There are six communal tables and also enclosed sheds outside for additional seating.

For a retirement gift, my boss had bought $50 gift certificates to six micro breweries in Guelph, which has been great. We've had dinner at some, but at others, I have just bought cans of beer to go (usually I put in a bit more cash and get 18 cans). This place must not have had a proper gift certificate, because I just had a "pint card" (4 beers value - $34) and the balance was rung up as 2 X 473mL lagers, for about $50. I explained to the server that I was sure this was meant to represent a $50 gift card and she said it was just a pint card and my boss must have drank the two tall boys there (while touring around Guelph to get gift cards at 2pm). Anyway, I finally took the 4 cans, which were $34 plus tax, although for $30, you could get 6 cans. I'm probably going on too long about this, but I feel like I was ripped off and this is my only way to deal with it, emotionally. Anyway, I will never go back there again, and please, never buy a gift certificate from this establishment.

Got it, I lowered my expectations and found both drinkable but diluted the margarita to combat its excessive sugariness. If anything, their menu was the perfect hearty base before a night of drinking. Having shared two of their sandwiches, the smashed burger ($21) was a hit. The potato bun was topped with two generous sized beef patties that are a little thick for a smashed burger but still had a nice crust. I liked that there was plenty of fixings including lettuce, tomato, cheese, caramelized onion, pickles, and a house sauce to give it interest. This was a tasty burger. Meanwhile, the potato bun disintegrated with the Korean fried chicken sando ($21) making it difficult to eat. Still, the chicken breast was hot and juicy with plenty of breading to give it a crunchy bite. But despite the liberal smear of gochujang mayo, it wasn't overly spicy and needed more heat. Adding some lettuce with the pickles may also help create a barrier between the bun and sauce to ensure the bread can hold up better. Maybe Rorschach's supplier gave them a bushel of the tiny potatoes, but their fries were cut so small... it's like eating Hickory sticks in fry form. You'd think a smaller fry means more crispy edges, but we just found they were really dried out. Rorschach Brewing Co's dining room is surprisingly spacious with picnic tables scattered throughout to accommodate varying sized tables. They were understaffed for a Friday, but the two servers did their best and made sure our large table was served and out in time for the concert. Perhaps they even breathed a sigh of relief once we vacated. So long loud ladies, we can go back to swigging beers.

The bartender was the only person on the floor and she was very friendly. Her service was great and we enjoyed the pop punk collection she had playing the whole time we were dining in. We ordered some drinks and for food we shared a chicken club on sourdough and a Reuben. The food did take quite a long time to come out even though we were the only ones who ordered food at the time. The chicken itself was ok, a bit bland but had some good toppings and was well toasted. We had fries with this sandwich and it was very well fried and it came in a huge portion. The Reuben was ok, instead of the tangier russian dressing I'm used to this one was more straight mayo based so the flavors weren't what I was expecting. The marbled rye could have been buttered a little more when toasted as well. The amount of meat that it came with though was great and quite hefty. Both sandwiches also came with coleslaw and a pickle spear. The slaw was vinegar based and cut through the heaviness of the meat. I wish the pickle was more crispy though. All in all, a relaxed spot for lunch with good drink but ok food.
