Very disappointed with Ed. He came to my house and worked on the typewriter, and it did work, I…read morepaid for the repair. I took it back to my Aunt's house (no repair people where she lives).The machine repair didn't last long enough to get it back to my aunt, same problem it had before (the ribbon pops out of the guides and will not stay in). Called Ed numerous times, no return call. Months later I got a call from Kristi saying she was checking on the calls that had come in, and had he ever come back and repaired the machine. I said no, and she asked me where I lived as she was now having to drive Ed to his calls. We discovered I lived very close to an establishment that Kristi patronized and that would be a good time for her to drop off and pick up Ed for my repairs. I never heard a word back after that. I am stuck with my aunt's typewriter that is not good for anything except a boat anchor. Somewhere during the phone calls it seemed that Ed was losing a little ground mentally, which could be a reason things didn't go well. But the communication stinks. At least call me back and say he can't come fix it, he's in the hospital or nursing home or Oak Lawn Cemetery, something. And now with COVID-19 as an elderly person, he is probably not going to people's houses to work on things. One more thing: Ellis Typewriter Repair is the first to pop up when I google Selectric Typewriter Repair. It gives an address on Main Street. No shop there. He comes (or did come) to your home to repair your machine. I'm ok with that. I can't seem to get any other company to come up on Google for an old typewriter repair. Maybe he is the only one who repairs (or did repair) these old dinosaurs. Just frustrating that the only name I can come up with was a bust.
