I don't know how to explain in words because it wouldn't be enough even if I will write 1000000 pages worth attributes Doctor Olsen has. He is an epitome of kindness, sweetness, care and love. We have a long story to share. Our baby was born via surrogacy and faced many health related challenges and I always thought to find the best pediatrician in IL even if I had to drive hours. My colleague referred me over to Dr. Olsen because Dr. Olsen was his twins boys's pediatrician and was very satisfied because his twins were premie and Dr. Olsen took care of them very nicely. I scheduled an appointment for my new born and I don't regret doing that. I wish I had my Gynecologist as dedicated as Dr. Olsen is. Dr. Olsen doesn't make you rush as he makes sure your all questions are answered and you are highly satisfied. My new born baby was only 28 days old when he had 103.7 fever and we had to rush to near by ER and the diagnosis were "UTI" which is very rare in new born males. ER Doctor called Dr. Olsen overnight and informed him of the situation. Dr. Olsen's Nurse Keri called us early in the morning and asked if our son was ok and if we were ok. Not only that, but Dr. Olsen kept following up and checking every day. I can swear that no one can be as sweet as Dr. Olsen. He didn't treat these lil munchkins like his patients but like his own babies. I love chatting and talking with Dr. Olsen as he has got good sense of humor and takes your stress away. God Bless Dr. Olsen for saving my son's life by referring us to number1 Urologist in IL. I give unlimited stars to Dr. Olsen and his staff. We need ore dedicated Doctors like Dr. Olsen. I can't recommend Dr. Olsen and his team highly enough. As a first-time mom of twins, he has been a true godsend, addressing not only my toddlers' strep throats and bouts of pneumonia but also easing my mom-anxieties through it all. Be extremely careful with this company. Once they have your email and your phone number, the reminders, alerts and notifications will never stop. Every time I receive a text alert I reply with "STOP" only to find out in 5 minutes that they have some other reminder they decided to text me from a different number. I do not take my children to the practice, my wife does. I am not sure how my contact information ended up on their communication portal, but they should seriously consider a new vendor. At our first appointment we arrived to the office 5 minutes late and checked in 8 minutes late. It was a 30 minute trip so an hour round. The person at the desk left without explanation (no big deal but wait) and came back at 10 minutes after our scheduled appointment and told us we would need to reschedule as they have a 10 minute grace period. Shocked, we double checked our watches... it's still 10 minutes right now after a few exchanges. I had really been looking forward to meeting and working with Dr Olson but after this reception we will be looking elsewhere. Millennium Pediatrics: Please 1) communicate your 10 min policy in registration, this is certainly not the norm, 2) give people the full 10 minutes, this was ridiculous to be turned away literally within the 10 minutes grace period, 3) think about a different policy for people coming to the office for the first time or for first time exceptions. 4) to mess someone else's schedule up by hours after being less than 10 minutes late, you should seriously upgrade your empathy. "We recognize this is a highly unusual practice. We know you've come a long way to get here and had something unexpected happen on the way. we are so excited to get you in to see Dr Olson and he can't wait to meet you ... even tho it's not even 10 minutes yet a significant emergency came up for the Dr. (I must assume)... here are some options if you're willing to look etc. All of this is if you care about your patients and their families. There are good doctors and there are great doctors; then there is Dr Olsen who is simply hands down THE BEST Pediatrician in the world. Dr Olsen manages my kids' complex issues with compassion and outstanding evidence based medical care. He also has a knack for dealing with anxious moms (me!). I always feel comfortable talking to him about any medical concern and he walks me through them without passing judgment. In fact, I always ask Dr Olsen for his opinion on whatever it is our team of Specialists recommend. His nurses, MaryBeth and Stacey, and entire staff are also great! After a scary diagnosis his staff called to simply check-in on me. Our family is truly blessed to be patients of Millennium Pediatrics. read more

Called here today looking for a new pediatrician for my son, as we are new to the area. After relaying this to the receptionist, the very 1st thing out of her mouth was, and I quote, "what insurance do you have?" No, "welcome to the area" or "yes, we're accepting new patients". Shocked by this answer, I said, "that's the most important thing to ask?" To which she giggled, stating they don't take state insurance. I completely understand the need to ask at some point during the conversation, but she absolutely turned me off to what may be a lovey office and fantastic doctor. I ended the conversation by telling her I know all I need to know about their practice and we'd be looking elsewhere. Your receptionist is the first impression your patients have, and it was definitely not a good one. read more

We moved to the suburbs we didn't know anybody so I asked my neighbors about pediatricians and they recommended Dr Olsen. Let me tell you, my experience with him hasn't been good at all. The latest one, my kid had a 105 fever I called after hours and Dr Olsen returned my call 45 minutes later. He suggested some Tylenol (like I didn't know that!!), we rushed to the hospital that day. The only reason I keep going to Millennium Pediatrics is because of Terry the Nurse Practitioner. She is great! She asks lot of questions and she makes my toddlers very comfortable. We have been going to this practice since 2015. Dr. Olson is the absolute best! I am an RN & have a really hard time trusting some doctors..I'm always asking questions and suggesting things as I tend to error on the side of caution. Dr. Olson entertains every suggestion or question no matter how off the wall. He never makes my husband or I feel weird or dumb for asking questions or talking about our fears related to our children. He is very easy to talk to and I trust him 100% with my kids. Very easy to get a same day apt and hardly ever a wait more than 5-10 min at most. I like most of the nurses in triage as well. Mary Beth and Mary are the absolute best! I also really like Dawn Mottlow and Terry Hannon APN's for when Dr. Olson is off or is booked. read more

After having an absolutely dreadful experience with a pediatric office near my house, (and their staff and the horrible pediatricians), I was literally beside myself with where to take my baby. I was referred to Dr Olsen through a "Moms" group and couldn't be happier with him and his staff. They are always friendly, the wait isn't terribly long, Dr Olsen always interacts positively with our little one, me and my husband. We actually look forward to seeing him! It's nice to have a private waiting room (I use it for nursing) as we wait. I also like the nurses in the triage. They always return my phone calls quickly and don't judge me for being paranoid. read more

I always assumed we would have to go to those pediatric factory doctors-the ones where they usher you in really quickly and then leave you and a sick three year old sitting in a cubicle for 2 hours, but this practice is different than anything I've ever experienced. The first time I called Dr. Olsen's office after being referred by a colleague, I assumed I would have to wait a week or more for an appointment or maybe not even get into the practice at all. The wonderful nurse on the phone asked me only what time I could make it THAT DAY! Dr. Olsen himself has a bedside manner that is simply incomparable. My daughter thinks he's pretty wonderful. Every time I have called with a sick child, I have gotten an appointment the same day. There is nothing more a mother with a sick child could possibly want. read more

The office staff is inexcusably inept. I took in my daughter for a cold (we have been patients for years). The staff billed it incorrectly and it was declined by insurance. I have called them repeatedly to correct this and they turned me over to COLLECTIONS! If they can't bill for a cold, I don't trust them with my children's health. read more

We LOVE Millennium Pediatrics! What I love most is that is very easy to get an appointment with short notice when the kids aren't well versus rushing them to an urgent care. The on call nurse line is fantastic - they're super responsive and always gives the best advice. Lastly, the entire staff is attentive, welcoming and it's obvious they have our children's health in their best interest as we never feel rushed during appointments. read more

We have seen Dr Olsen since 2004. I absolutely love his demeanor and interaction with my boys. He is awesome. We've seen pretty much everyone there in the last 13 years and they are all caring and listen to me rattle on. My boys have had some medical issues and they have always handled everything to my satisfaction. I moved farther out and still travel the 25/30 minutes to see them because I really feel comfortable and confident with/in them. The only negative thing I would say is they've had a change in front desk staff and it's not always the warmest welcome. I know they are busy but it would be nice to hear a bit more warmth in their voices when they answer the phones or greet you in the office. The nurses get back to you pretty quickly and are always nice and helpful. Overall good place to take your kids. read more

We chose Dr. Olsen as our pediatrician last year based on yelp reviews, and I couldn't be happier about our choice. A couple of years ago, when I first started to face doctors' offices with my older daughter, they terrified me: always very strict, "professional" looking, and always prescribing antibiotics. Dr. Olsen is SO VERY COOL, he talks to the kids as if they are his own age, asks lots of questions about the day, school, etc. My older daughter really regards him as a friend, and is not scared from doctors anymore. As for professional competencies, I really like how he doesn't make a big deal out of everything, and very casually says you can do this and that as to not to terrify the parent. And he is not very fond of antibiotics as our previous doctors! read more

We have been taking 3 of my kids to see Dr. Olsen for over 5 years and he is always very nice and attentive. The front desk... not so much... We are always on time and never were late. Today had an appointment for my niece and we were 6 minutes late due to some school delay. Called the office that we would be 6 minutes late and was told to reschedule. The front desk receptionist wanted nothing to do with us when we came to the office and didn't care to hear any kind of apologies or explanations. I understand that we were a few minutes late, however believe me for the past years we have waited way more than 6 minutes for the doctor to see us. We waited for this appointment for 2 weeks, and I truly made all the efforts to give them a courtesy call explaining that we will be late (again we are not talking about being late for more than 15 minutes). The receptionist was completely rude and declined me when I asked to speak to the doctor. I get it, we should have been on time, but when something is out of your control and the front desk behaves like they don't care at the doctor's office, makes you think twice whether this is the doctor's office you want to take your kids to. read more

If only Dr. Kalish and Nurse Mary had their own office, I could give a raving 5 Star review . Dr. Kalish easily deserves a 5 Star review to be certain. I've been taking my two kids there for 7 years and she's never once let me down. She takes her time to understand the problem, asks a lot of questions, covers all the bases and speaks directly to my kids too. And to be fair, one of my kids saw Dr. Olsen once and I have no complaints. However, Dr. Mansour is rude, unprofessional and has the worst bed-side manners, even with kids. You get who you get when a situation arises requiring your child to seen by a doctor right away. And I've learned it's just not worth going there if I can't see Dr. Kalish. So, after my recent experience with Dr. Mansour, I will take my kids to UrgiKids by the Showplace 16 theaters when I can't schedule with Dr. Kalish (they are incredible!). So, recently, my daughter was suddenly very sick and weak with a 103 fever, sore throat and headache. I got scheduled with Dr. Mansour. We arrived 5 minutes late because it's been a long while since I had to get a very sick and weak child out the door and should have allowed more time. We sat in the waiting room for about 5 minutes and then waited a few minutes before Dr. Mansour walked in. Not kidding, her first cold and condescending words were, "Do you know you are 15 minutes late? That is an entire appointment." Shocked by her cold rudeness and focused on my suffering child, I said we were only a few minutes late. She responded with the same condescending tone, "Well, what time do you think you arrived?" and I replied 5 minutes late. She rolled her eyes and then finally addressed my suffering daughter. Her assessment was quick and she was clearly rushing the appointment to get to her lunch. She did two swabs to check for flu and strep and 10 minutes later came back and said the tests were negative, concluding my daughter has a random upper respiratory infection and would feel better in a few days. About 2 hours later, I get a call from Dr. Mansour stating she took another look at the flu test and she said she thinks it's positive. I questioned, "You think?" and she re-stated with "No, it's positive and I sent a prescription of Tamiflu to Walgreens." I then advised her of a time last year when Nurse Practitioner Terri Hannon tested my child for Strep and called me back hours later to say, Oops it actually is positive so go pick up the antibiotic at Walgreens. When at Walgreens their Dr. happened to be standing behind the pharmacy desk and overheard my phone conversation with my husband that the Dr's office called me hours later to say the test turned positive. Once off the phone, the Dr. advised that all tests turn positive after they've sat for too long and they can only be accurately read 10 minutes after started. So, the Walgreens Dr. suggested I re-check my daughter before putting her on antibiotics. When I did this (right there at Walgreens), the test for Strep was negative! So, now back to the potential late-positive flu test. Not trusting the positive test nor wanting to put my daughter on Tamiflu needlessly, I took my daughter to UrgiKids to be retested. They too thought it was pretty pathetic that I was there just to confirm the flu test and suggested that I needed to find a new pediatrician's office I trusted. The flu test was indeed positive and I don't even want to think about the additional cost of double checking this because I don't trust this office. Then, after the flu diagnosis, my daughter took a turn for the worst and I was lucky to get scheduled with Dr. Kalish. As a note, I was on time but waited 30 minutes PAST my appointment time to see Dr. Kalish, but she's worth the wait! My guess, she was only doing her job caring for another child without rushing them. On top of this most recent horrible experience with Dr. Mansour, you NEVER get a person that answers the phone. You are greeted with an answering system that tells you what number to press based on your need. If you are having an urgent situation, you get to leave a message and nervously wait for a return call. Well, my daughter developed hives after taking a penicillin antibiotic. Knowing this was an allergic reaction but hoping not life threatening, I left a message and waited on pins and needles for a return call and the entire time debated with myself to take her to UrgiKids to assure her safety because you never know how far an allergic reaction will go or how long I'd wait for the return call. My point, if your child is sick or needs evaluation right away, this is not the place to go unless you get Dr. Kalish. Go to UrgiKids. UrgiKids even calls me 1-2 days after a visit to ask how my child is doing! They aren't a pediatrician's office but a walk-in place to go after your pediatrician closes or can't be reached, and a step prior to needing the ER. If you need an annual wellness visit, this place is perfect, but stay away from Dr. Mansour. read more

We made an appt for a meet and greet having heard great things about Chad Olsen. We are a family soon to be four kids and we are both working parents. Extremely hard for us to both take off of work so when we do we have multiple appts. As we are expecting our 4th baby we had doc visits and ultrasound after our crazy routine of dropping off kids. Very busy day for us and we arrived 30 minutes late. We entered into the office (mind you the office is empty with only one patient sitting in the waiting room). We arrived smiling ready to meet this pediatrician and his front staff. "Hi we're here for a meet n greet" we say smiling. No "welcome" or a greeting. She immediately says we are 30 minutes late. We apologize. Not a very warm welcome. She says she will ask the doctor if he will see us. She comes back out and says he's busy with three physicals and he has to go the hospital. He won't see us. No apologies despite our driving all the way to see him. Well that's a great first impression. A place for children, no welcoming words no smile for our two year old. No smile for the parents. No attempt to say, hey he's pretty busy today (perhaps lunch plans Bc the office was empty all the kids are in school). No "we'd love to have you meet him lets re-schedule". He and his lovely front desk secretary already blew us off. I think that says enough. Perhaps his great reviews are getting into his ego. After all it's all about him and his "busy" office. Not your child or your busy schedule. read more

When we had our twins 8 weeks early, we just weren't prepared. We had just moved to the area and hadn't yet picked a pediatrician. While the kids were still in the Edward Hospital NICU, we asked the opinions of the NICU docs & nurses. They highly recommended this practice. Drs Chad Olsen and Robin Kalish are cool. They are friendly and knowledgeable. The office staff is great...when we have a question we can call in and leave a voicemail for the triage nurse who always seems to call back promptly. They never laughed at us when we were calling in as new paranoid parents...well maybe they did but at least they waited til after we hung up. Each office is painted in a different theme, and as our kids get older I think they are going to enjoy the different themes. There's a sports room, an airplane room, a bug-themed room with butterflies and fairies. We hardly ever have much of a wait for our appointments, and with twins that is a great thing!!! read more

My children have been patients of Dr. Olsen's for 4 years now and their practice is always professional, hands-on and I have always felt they have gone above and beyond for my children regardless of whether it was an office visit or they were in the hospital. Dr. Olsen always makes my kids laugh and is able to calm my nerves when I am worried about them. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who is new to the area or has been around awhile and just isn't getting the care they would like from their current pediatrician. read more

You won't find a better practice!! We found them when we moved to the area from Ohio 6 years ago. We had one visit with another practice in Oswego and were very disappointed. We made an appointment to meet with Dr. Olsen and were pleased right away. He and the other doctors and nurse practioners are never rushed and always made us feel as though we were the only family there. When Dr. Olsen was off one day when Isaac was sick, we saw Terri Hannon with some hesitation. what we found out is that Terri is amazing!! My kids absolutely love her and it is plainly obvious how much she loves children. She became our primary and helped us through some really rough times with serious illness with our Jerry. Terri and everyone in the practice listened so well at each appointment that we always knew they really cared. One time Terri was not available when Jerry was very sick. We worked through this situation with Dr. Robin Kalish. She was so patient and kind calling to check on us and guiding us past our denial and to the hospital where we needed to be. The nurses are all great too, remembering my kids by name and always interacting with them in a patient friendly way. Last but not least the secretary staff is great too helping us schedule appointments with our crazy changing schedule. We are back in Ohio now and we REALLY miss them! We met Dr.Olsen about 8yrs. ago in Edward Hospital room the day after our daughter was born.You know that saying good things come to those who wait or procrastinate . Well we hadn't picked out a doctor yet and he was the pediatrician on call. There has only been 1 time that he wasn't their doctor and that was only for insurance reasons. Now we have six girls and they love going to see him and have fun. The office staff is awesome and the nurses are great, if I leave a message they call me back quickly and if my girls need an appointment they've gotten in asap(when needed). If for some reason they can't get in to see him Dr.Kalish and The Nurse Practitioner Terry are great. I couldn't of have found a better Pediatrician he has always helped us out even when we've called at 2am (with 6 girls there lots of late callls)he calls quickly and has calmed me down several times and for that I'm thankful.
