This facility has the full time mission of supporting training of the Dallas Fire and Rescue personnel of the Dallas Fire Department. This facility is exceptionally maintained and has some very interesting and sometimes HOT items used for training. There are buildings for scaling, stairways for climbing, towers for rappelling, buildings for burning, a disaster area and lots of classrooms. There are open fields used for training, search training and obstacles for search dogs. Parking is plentiful but be sure not to block in the many driveways. They recently upgraded the auditorium and made it more friendly for the class room environment with swivel chairs and larger writing surface. If you get the opportunity to come for a DFD graduation or CERT training, you will be impressed!

I thought it would be less packed going during the week but it was still very busy. I wanted to come right at 11 when they opened but arrived after 12:45. Some stuff I felt was a good price while other items were too expensive. I actually found some of the same items at Hobby Lobby near me for cheaper and some things with more quantity in a pack. It's a lesson learned because I did mention this early to my daughter but she couldn't decide and ended up wanting a mum. I would still come if I can't locate specifics. I definitely recommend if you are coming for mums whether pre made or starting from scratch to do things early on and price items/mums at different places first for the best deals. I drove from Wylie so that's why the price for the amount of stuff I bought seemed over priced. Also at check out, be prepared for a long line. It did move fairly decent so keep this in mind if you think it's an in and out type of thing but maybe it was just the time I went. When I was at the register the female working was being assisted by an older gentleman. Not sure if she was not having a good day but I literally witnessed him telling her that he didn't know if she just didn't want to work. He also noticed she was messing with a stapler and he told her something about that with an attitude and continued helping check me out. Although she did seem like she didn't want to be there. So he was calling out prices to her of my items and honestly I don't know if that combination was accurate. It doesn't help customers that the receipt doesn't show items listed w/the description, it only shows prices. I'm ok with no returns policy but not ok if the prices didn't match up with the items I had with me because of how the two were handling things.
