They will file your bankruptcy but they might not have it discharged, which is what happened to us. After paying off the bankruptcy, the final document was never filed with the court. One year and 11 months later I found this out so I called the office. When I discovered a letter was sent to both us and the law office, I inquired as to why SOMEONE at the office didn't call us to have up file the final document I was told, "We don't make phone calls". I swear to God. After being told " it was our fault" and " we should have known", they asked for an additional $650.00 because the bankruptcy had to be reopened in order to discharge. $400 for the attorney appearance and $250 for filing fees. In addition to this flub, the treatment we received was less than courteous. It was more of a cattle call, no niceties, fill in the paperwork, see ya later bye, thanks for your money. While Richard Hollander may be a nice man, we spent about ten minutes with him, his children are a different story. Ron Hollander, who has no degree, does all the intake is condescending and arrogant. He kind of acts like a guy who makes great money working for his Daddy and subtly looks down on others. Ms. Jedda, who is the daughter, does have her attorney license but has the personality of a saber tooth tiger. I had the displeasure of speaking with her on the phone. She barks instead of speaking. She is very rude and has no understanding of how to communicate professionally. She's more of a witch in attorneys clothing. Do yourself a favor. Find a bankruptcy attorney who will treat you kindly with the dignity and respect you deserve. AND before you retain them ask them if they DO MAKE PHONE CALLS! read more

Bankruptcy is a hard thing to go though. The lawyers and staff at Miller, Hollander & Jeda were very professional and compassionate during filing. They took their time to answer all of my questions and I never once felt like I was taking up more their time then was allowed. It was like Groundhog Day every time I went in for a meeting. They never prepared never did anything they said they were going to do. They charged additional fees with no explanation for a case that was as simple as they come. I paid more than three times what any other attorney would have charged and they did not represent me or present the details of my case. Total rip-off and they destroyed my financial well-being by conning me into a Chapter 7 when I really did not need a bankruptcy at all. They passed the case around the office like "Monkey in the middle" and in the end no one takes responsibility for the outcome, with one lying and the other swearing to it. To top off the unprofessional experience, they blindsided me and just dropped out of the case with no notice and never finished closing the case. They had all of my money at that point and did not care. So now I am representing myself in court. Know your options before offering yourselves to the sharks! I know now that there were better options than bankruptcy available. Once bankrupt there is no turning back.....ever! Don't do it! read more
