I once called in with a question for Dr. Markin and got a call back within the day. When I called in, his staff knew my name, which I would have never expected from an orthodontist's office. I can't speak to price, but I can attest to their commitment to service! My only complaint would be their hours. They're only open from Monday-to-Thursday, which can be challenging for someone who travels with work, which I do.

I was referred here by my friend, who happens to be a general surgeont o Dr. Chi-Chia Tai. There are a team of oral surgeons working here and their supporting staff definitely play leading roles in the overall experience at Durham Oral Surgery. The office itself is tucked away on a side street next to a Ford dealership and is an antique home conversion. They were extremely organized. When I checked in, they knew exactly who I was, and ticked me off their roster. I was scheduled in for a 9:45AM. It took me about 5 minutes to fill out a form (as I had never been before), and within 5 minutes I was whisked away for an x-ray. Make sure you take all jewellery from the neck up off (I forgot to take off my earings! Oops!) After that, the ladies processed my insurance claim. I am so glad I have group health benefits. Can you believe that wisdom teeth extraction (1 side = 2 teeth) comes in at a hefty price tag of $1000+ dollars?! Shortly after I was asked to watch an informative video regarding wisdom teeth extraction, and then Dr. Tai appeared. He was very informative, and easy to understand. He explained what he suggested, and asked me if I had any questions. Shortfly after the consultation, the nurse took me into the operating room. I underwent general anesthetics, and the surgery went painlessly. Sooner than I knew it, I was waking up and escorted to the waiting room where I was given instructions about the next few days and what to expect and to give you the date of your follow-up appointment. The nurse walks you straight out to your car (of course, William T was nice enough to take me as you cannot drive after surgery). The service doesn't end there. The day after surgery, you will receive a check-up phone call just to see how you are doing. I have worked in the medical field before, and the biggest guffaw about surgery is usually that there is no after-care. Most surgeons just want to do the operating, and then be rid of you. They also called me this morning to remind/confirm my follow-up appointment. I would definitely recommend going to Durham Oral Surgery to anyone who has to get their wisdom teeth removed.

I've been a customer since 2002…read more Dr Paul Stratis performed my work in 2002 and I can confirm his work is excellent and stood the test of time. I had two crowns put in and they both were of superior craftsmanship, and I've enjoyed trouble free teeth since then. I made one big mistake in roughly 2007 but switching to a dentist closer to my new work location at that time. Live went on. Come 2019 I had a tooth that presented some issues and suddenly needed a rush root canal. I had issues locating a provider and decide to call up my old dentist and ended up being placed with Dr Nick Stratis, Paul's son. I can safely say the talent runs in the family. Nick was expert in his needle work, he performed the root canal quickly and expertly (on a rear molar the work is much more detailed). I had a temporary filling and a prescription for antibiotics in case the infection spread. Things recovered quickly. I went back for more detailed work and my new crown. Like before the finishing work was quick, clean, and expertly performed. I love my new crown. Absolutely no tooth or jaw alignment issues. Lastly, I should mention no great dental office is complete without great tooth cleaning experts. All of the staff who clean my teeth have done excellent work, and leave me walking away with super clean teeth and gums. It shows every time I smile. I feel obligated to maintain a great dental health routine just to not disappoint the staff on my next visit. And finally staff who run the front counter and manage appointments have been professional, organized, and super accommodating, when I've had to make schedule adjustments. I'll be going to this office for my dental work even if I move out of province. I'll find a way.

My brother and I were Dr Allan and Dr Kevin's patients back when we were teenagers. They were the nicest! We both got traditional braces at the time and now both as adults in our 30s our teeth are still straight as ever and super confident in our smiles! My parents told all their friends about how good the results were and how high their satisfaction was! Always loved this place. They had the most awesome customer appreciation days too (the booked out theater down on Yonge St to watch Shrek with free popcorn was one of my fondest memories as well as the one where they hired a magician). Also, when we went to our dentist sometimes you get the "fear" from having your teeth pulled out. Here, there's no such fear. After reading many good reviews (not on yelp), I went to check him out, and he was exactly how I read him to be. He is very sincere, and actually cares about your health as well as teeth. The best thing about him is that he doesn't try to force you to do any more procedures than you have to. Many dentists almost automatically start procedures even without your consent, then charge you like crazy out the door. Dr. Treger actually doesn't seem to want to try to scheme all of your money, and will actually suggest not touching something that isn't broken. I have a back molar that is crooked, and even though I have no issues at all, most dentists will immediately suggest that I get another orthodontic treatment, even though I already went through braces years ago. So after seeing Dr. Treger, I said "I know, I probably need to get braces again right?" and to my surprise he actually said "Why? Does it bother you?" I said no, and then he said "then why touch what's not broken". I LOVE THIS GUY! It's also a plus that he doesn't use toxic materials like mercury, and will safely remove them following all the safety procedures in removing amalgams by the IAOMT.
