We had a large tree come down during a storm and needed it cut up and removed. Miller was out to our house the next morning by 7:30. When scheduling they did advise us if something more urgent like a tree on a house or power outages occurred those would take precedence over us, which I appreciate. They were quick with their work and cleaned up all of the debris from the tree. Rates are reasonable considering the size of the tree and the number of crew members they had to use to clean it up. read more

Tree fell on our house Thursday night (2 weeks after we moved in btw). Friday morning at dawn you couldn't hardly see our house. Neighborhood came to stare in astonishment! Friend suggested Miller, and Saturday morning everything looks cleared, and very well done. I'm impressed. read more

We had several trees on the property that needed trimming and one that needed removal. We had heard about Miller and their service and contacted them and another service in the area. The other company never responded to our inquiry, but Miller was fast to respond, come out to assess our needs and provide a comprehensive quote. After a couple of clarifications and adjustment to the scope of their work, that was better suited to our budget, we quickly scheduled an appointment. While we could have done some of this work ourselves, their pricing and turnkey service made it well worth the cost. We were hard hit by hurricane Helene with several normal size trees blown over, root balls, and all, as well as as an ancient poplar tree over 4 foot in diameter roots, that came to rest over the top of our 500 gallon LP gas tank. Called multiple tree services in our area of Boone North Carolina. Some came out to take a look, but we're not capable of such a large tree removal and never heard from the rest while waiting in traffic in Lenoir we wound up behind a white sedan with an emblem on the door which read Miller Tree Service, which we had never heard of before came home that afternoon, and looked them up and filled out a service request form, heard from Josh before the day was out and scheduled to follow up appointment with Daniel the next day, all went well. The estimate was quickly in our hands and we scheduled the removal. It proved to be a mammoth undertaking, but they handled it all expertly and attended to all of our request to our entire satisfaction. They're not the cheapest around, but there's a reason for that they go the extra mile and do what they say until you are completely happy with the outcome. We were very fortunate to have Miller Tree Service trim the trees along a very long driveway and remove some trees close to my home recently. This is a very busy business and I feel lucky that they had time to work me into their schedule after seeing what wonderful work they do. The gentleman that comes out to review your needs and wishes is very helpful and polite. The crew that comes out on the day of service is also very polite and comes with all the equipment necessary to remove trees, high branches, etc. around by driveway and property. Their services truly exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend Miller tree service to my friends and neighbors. I can't imagine using another tree service in the future. Miller Tree Service is currently working at my apartment complex, Dwell at Carmel. While the leasing office hired them for their services, they have been terrible to have around. It takes them over a day to clean up the branches they have cut down, blocking the sidewalks for residential access. Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of this, but I could very clearly see if from my window as I work from home. They have taken up the entire parking lot in front of my unit except for maybe 6 spots. There are multiple 2 bedroom units in my building, causing most of us to have to park elsewhere to avoid getting hit by the machinery or accidentally hitting it ourselves. The few spots they did leave now have bobcats parked in them so I can't even park outside my own home. They machinery is also blocking access to get in and out of the lot in front of my unit, which makes leaving even more difficult. I don't understand how hard it is to assess how much room was left for residents in the lot, see they took up too many parking spots and move the equipment a little further down the complex so everyone can have room to park. Wow! These guys are awesome! Miller Tree Service answered my call, provided an estimate for tree removal and showed up on time to get started. Since we had several trees and shrubs to remove it took the crew 2 days to complete. They worked hard to clean up the yard after the trees were removed. They ground the stumps. They spread the soil to make the lawn level again. Our expectations were exceeded. We are very pleased with Rick and Jake, and their employees. read more

Miller Tree Service is FABULOUS! They did a great job removing some very large trees very close to our house that had been damaged in a recent storm. The job they did was beyond our expectations...They cleaned up everything, and not a shrub or flower in the gardens were harmed. I cannot say enough. They knew a lot about the types of trees we had, and were careful not to damage other things around the trees they needed to take down. Their tree removal trucks are top of the line, and one even reached over our house and into the woods since the tree was inaccessible any other way. Brad and Jake were part of our crew...They were great! I definitely would recommend them to anyone who needs tree work. read more

Wow! Miller Tree Service just removed a tall old ash tree that had to go. It was dying and only 8 feet from my house. They did a fantastic job of negotiating everything from other plantings to hardscapes in our front yard, to the city's electrical lines. They use a big new tree removal system with a robotic arm, claw, and saw that's operated by a technician. In under three hours, our very tall tree was safely and tidily removed by the crew. We're keeping some of the wood for a future project. The price was fair and the service was great. read more

We Called 3 tree companies to cut about 18 trees. Lonny Miller's price was the best. He is very responsive, and will contact you back immediately if you call or text him. He scheduled it and kept the appt. He is friendly and the crew is courteous . They work was done at a decent price. We then called him 6 months later, to take down more trees. Again, he is the only one i would use. You won't go wrong with Lonny . He has now done work for a neighbor and she was also pleased. read more

We must NOT have gotten the same crew as Amanda. They solicited me for work that same day and the sucker I am, gave them the job. Sadly, they overcharged and under performed. Examples: did not remove sucklings from river birches or crape myrtles, left branches crossing over each other, camellia bush was hardly trimmed - he "did the best he could without a ladder" - come on - why quote for something you are equipped for? Some large branches that were cut from crape myrtles were left in the trees! They did not do a good job clearing the debris (limbs still strewn on the lawn and driveway). 5 crape myrtles butchered, 2 river birches barely touched, holly tree barely trimmed, maple cut back, few branches removed from oak near shed, bush not trimmed as promised, did not trim vine as requested - less than 2 hours spent - $500 out of my pocket. I got taken. Will not recommend and will never give my hard-earned money to them again. read more

Fortunately when a giant red oak decimated about a third of our house, and knocked three 10" branches from another giant oak on to a separate part of our roof, our insurance agent had Miller Tree from Advance here that day. Three days of steady rains had uprooted trees all over Winston-Salem, but they began work the next day with a crew of six and a giant crane to hoist logs around the house. The terrain made any other access impossible. They cleared branches from the worst damaged area through the rain and took down three more large oaks the following day. All tree lumber was hauled away, the yard was well cleaned and an arborist on the crew discussed which other trees to remove for safety. We were very upset by the $50-100K damage to the house, but on the first day Daniel, the estimator covered the roof with tarps and alerted Duke Energy about exposed wires only visible from the roof. He, Jake and the entire crew were a joy to work with and we considered the pricing very reasonable. They will do all our trees from now on. read more
