Numerous award winning butchers that offer prime cuts of meat, fantastic mince and healthy plump chickens and eggs! Wonderful bakery that makes the best breads and pastry I have tried. Wonderful vegetables and fruit stands where you get can a serious deal on great vegetables. Cheapest and most authentic pick and mix selection I have ever seen Fish monger, show repair, tea shop, cafes, clothing and boot sale, cd shops, home repair, clothing alterations ... Even a room with a scale in it! Grainger Market is magical. A must see, I consider the market a tourist attraction because of how traditional it is. The people in the booths all seem very authentic and very helpful.

M & M News is a newsagents and Post Office in Newcastle city centre, towards the end of…read moreNorthumberland Street on Haymarket, fairly close to the Metro and bus station of Haymarket and the TSB bank, as well as a small Boots Chemist store also being nearby, to name just a few shops. As mentioned, this is a sub post office also meaning you can post items from here etc, without it being a main Post Office. They had a satisfactory selection of drinks, they seemed to be a little bit pricier than normal with no special offer and it could work out a considerable difference compared to buying drinks from the likes of Superdrug and WHSmith for example, who all have stores nearby and offers where you can get 2 drinks for between £2 and £2.50, meanwhile the same drinks here could possibly cost £2.60 or perhaps even more, with of course WHSmith have a greater selection anyway. Overall, the staff didn't seem too friendly and the overall feel and vibe of this store was a slight carelessness, cluttered nature and it just wasn't the nicest of newsagents or simply shops to shop in, I can't help but add that there are better alternatives for both Post Offices and newsagents elsewhere in Newcastle city centre, even on the same street as this is located (Northumberland Street) with the likes of Boots, Superdrug and WHSmith all having branches here where they have special offers on most of the time, for items you are most likely to buy from here such as drinks, and the WHSmith also has a main Post Office branch in too, which is probably your best bet for postal services so sadly I can't help but question the need for this store and feel M and M New's on Northumberland Street in the Haymarket area of Newcastle Upon Tyne sadly deserves a single one star rating.

Downstairs you'll find a hairdressers and it has a TK MAX which leads out to the basement floor in Fenwicks department store. It's not a wonderful place but a good shortcut through to Northumberland Street or to Monument metro station.

The Works Factory Outlet is located in The Royal Quays Retail Outlet centre in the newly developed…read morequayside area in North Shields. I love this shop! On the whole it is a bookshop but it also sells a range or Stationery, cd's/dvd's (not recent chart ones though) gifts, cards etc at very affordable prices. I've picked up loads bargains here in the past! Everything is discounted so is always cheaper than the usual RRP. I've always found the staff there to be very pleasant and helpful. I never go to the Royal Quays without going in this shop because the stock is updated rregularly so you never know what bargains you might find! Because it is situated in a retail outlet centre it is in amongst a range of shops and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. There are hundreds of free parking spaces and it is quite easy to get to by bus or by metro (Royal Quays is about a 10min walk from Percy Main Metro Station).

The shop is rather small with most of space behind the counter but it stocks a small rage of items any item not in stock often can be ordered in, this includes items like all other office equipment laminators, shredders etc- and stationery needs. A great service and useful for special request of stationery or specialist office equipment. Not the cheapest place for stationery in small amounts but ok for larger quantities. One of few places in town that can supply some specialist stationery and computer ink etc.
