The nickname "Cream City" comes from the distinct cream-colored bricks found on many of the city's buildings. Although downtown is very walkable, there is a bus & trolley system. However, the curb's & sidewalks aren't in good shape & need attention. People are friendly & helpful here.

And I haven't been here as often as I probably should have for as close as it is; it's about an hour or hour and a half away so it's an easy day trip. Known for breweries and bratwurst, one or the other of those are on practically every corner. I've not historically been the biggest fan of bratwurst but had a Reuben bratwurst that makes my mouth water thinking about it. I had fun going to some shops with my little one, including a couple children's shops (BlackBear Boutique and Rainbow Booksellers, in particular). Rainbow Booksellers is only open a couple days per week so make sure to prioritize it if you are wanting to go. I'd planned to take my kiddo to the children's museum, but she fell asleep so that will wait for another trip. I think there are at least a couple children's museum-like places here. And in the downtown area there are several music venues; I've only been to Pabst many years ago, and I'd love to visit the High Life Theatre as well. And soon will attend a Brewers game to see the sausage race live and in person!

They are fast, polite and efficient here, plus you often get free entertainment in the short line wait as colorful crackpots are also frequent visitors.

The employees here have been nothing but kind, professional, and patient. If any one is going postal in here it's going to be me. Milwaukee!! clocking in at just over 10,000 feet long the Hoan Bridge carries six lanes of I-794 some 120' above the Milwaukee River. the crazy yellow arch dominates the view eastward during the day and multi-color LEDs create a spectacle after sunset. one more thing: contrary to local rumor the Blue Brothers' car chase was NOT filmed here (M. I love crossing over Lake Michigan and seeing the Downtown Milwaukee skyline. You have plenty of great views including Lake Michigan, Summerfest, Milwaukee Art Museum and so on. It truly makes Milwaukee look great! The only problem I have with Hoan Bridge is that smells terrible...some days are worse then others, but overall, it smells like poo. It's not the bridge's fault, of course. I love this bridge!

Our group likes the mission so much that we have supported them three years in a row and have become one of their top donors in the Milwaukee area. My first NAMI walk was downtown on the lakefront, and this one was in Wauwatosa. Both times, walkers were very well directed by helpers, made aware of the schedule ahead of time, and given goodies the day of. If you're looking for a good cause to support, I'd highly recommend.

The staff were super friendly and quick to help out. Also love the layout and the offerings inside. There's ample parking so plenty of room. Really love the gorgeous front entry for a nice place to relax among the flowers.
