I called ahead to ask if they could sell me the tool to remove a link from my watch. I was told not to worry about it and to just stop by. When I showed up, the staff was rude from the start. They removed a link from my watch and only after finishing told me the charge would be $30. I explained that I was willing to pay for the service, but $30 felt excessive for a simple link removal. At that point, the employee became aggressive, started cursing at me, and even called me a "mother f***er." he said pay 30 or I put the link back in. To avoid further escalation, I paid the $30 and left. Afterward, I called a jewelry shop directly across the street and was told they charge $20 for the same service. FABULOUS~~!! Ahni and Ara. I took my 1980 Silver Jubilee Rolex watch to Mimo. The time was off, and the band was coming loose. My watch has never been to a jeweler. It has a diamond bezel and diamonds all around the band. They fixed it and shined it up. Running perfectly. They sized my diamond rings also. Fantastic work and great people. My wife's wedding ring lost a small diamond in her wedding ring guard. We took it to Mimo's to replace the diamond and secure the others from similar losses. He replaced the diamond and said he secured the crowns on the ring. Two weeks later, the diamond fell out again. When we returned, the wife said it was a different diamond that fell out and they were not responsible. He was in the back room and wouldn't even come out and explain. Very poor service. No offer to repair or replace. Don't do business with this jeweler! read more

This jeweler put in an incorrect size sapphire on my ring and it looks odd. I wasn't happy when I picked it up but the owners are not at all communicative. Annie helped us and she's very good to work with. And the gentleman owner was equally nice too, and I'm sorry as I do not remember his name. I'm so grateful for this place! They fixed my citizen eco watch and it works beautifully now! I had first taken the watch to a place in the TO Mall that was supposed to "fix-it" but the watch still didn't work even after I took it back 3 times - so I paid for nothing! Thank goodness I went to Mimo instead of thinking the watch was beyond repair. I will only go to Mimo from now on for watch repair or any jewelry repair - they are so kind and helpful and knowledgeable. And they listened to me, and made sure the watch was working perfectly before they called and told me it was ready. We're really lucky to have such good service in our neighborhood. My family has been going to Mimo's for years. It's because they do a great job for a reasonable price! I purchased a ring that was far too big for me. When I dropped the ring off to be resized, it was a misshapen mess. (I was too eager to wear it and squished it narrow enough to suffice.) Ara was incredibly sweet and bent it back into a round shape, free of charge. I felt bad having to tell him that I actually needed it sized down too! He's a true craftsman, and cares deeply about the work he does. I brought a watch of mine, a quartz chronograph, to many watch repair shops over the years. Ive had bands changed, batteries replaced and general maintenance questions. This is the first watch shop I went to who tested my battery and watch before trying to sell me the battery replacement. I have had this battery in the watch for 6 months, and his test showed it was still very good. A few shops have told me I need to replace my motor/wheels due to my second hand stopping intermittently. Here, my watch was inspected and oiled, along with a battery test which proved that it did not need replacement. I have not had one person offer to oil my watch for me to help alleviate this problem where the secondhand will get stuck, and did not ask for any money. I would gladly have paid for his analysis and the mild servicing. Le Chateau watches seem to be their main vendor, but a lot of good bands and jewelry of other sorts are here. I have gone to Mimo's for years - often to get new watch batteries, sometimes to buy a piece of jewelry, sometimes to get jewelry repaired. I had ALWAYS been pleased with their customer service. A mishap occurred and they were unwilling to offer any solution to the problem. I purchased a business card holder from Mimo's as a gift and paid $45 for engraving a name and date on the item. When I picked it up - the engraving was slightly slanted. Worse - the middle initial, followed by a period, had no space before the last name: "John C.Doe". When I pointed out the errors, I was told it was fine - "the letters are all there", they couldn't fix it and since they would be unable to sell it to anyone else, I had to take it as is. This gift I purchased is unusable. Sadly - I don't think I can shop there anymore - and I can no longer recommend them to anyone. read more
