On the other hand, something about the people the interview, or the equipment they use, or something makes them all sound so damn pretentious: "I'm Michele Norris, and this (dramatic pause) is Day to Day". Even the people Dick Gordon interviews on "The Story" who are not the on air personalities somehow catch it from using the same microphone or something. Overall I think that NPR is an acceptable place to turn when you're tired of flipping back and forth between stations that play the same damn song every 20 minutes, but it can get just annoying after awhile.

Tom Ashbrook in the morning to say snide, uniformed things about the Midwest (I really think he needs to visit every market his stuffy show is broadcast in). Heck there are a few other programs that I can't even listen to -- "Prairie Home Companion," "What'dya Know" and "Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me." All terrible in my opinion. Well, I guess KIOS is my favorite radio station unless it's a Saturday afternoon. KIOS really shines with its music programming. Especially on Sundays. My favorite time to listen is during "Jazz in the Afternoon," which runs 1-3pm Tuesday-Friday. Heck it's on the radio right now as I'm writing this review.

Plus they have a convenient location right off of Dodge street in Dundee. I've been on a few shows in the past as both co-host (yeah, we'll call it that) and as a guest. All the producers I've worked with are super friendly and professional, yet know how to keep things casual and cool, especially when the crazies start calling in. My only request would be a commercial free oldies station. I really miss Magic 1490!

The station has consistently NOT PLAYED 40 SONGS from the archived countdown since they started playing American Top 40 - The 80s The station is poorly run and the reason for the inconsistency.

Someone from the station quickly replied and addressed the issue politely so it looked like that was that. However... I couldn't believe what happened that next Sunday. Crash Davis chose to open the show with this bizarre paranoid rant about the email I'd sent a week before, but it wasn't based on anything I actually wrote. Rather a bunch of stuff he just made up. When I said how I'd been listening to the program for a long time and really appreciate it, he supposedly interpreted that as me "getting really mad" and proceeded to accuse me of plotting to get him in trouble with his boss. The whole thing ended with him literally calling for my eternal damnation live on air. At that point, I decided to just stop listening to this station altogether. Whether or not YOU choose to listen, just be aware that this is the kind of reaction you may get if you ever dare contact the station about anything even slightly critical.

I don't know who to go to the voice my opinion but I am more than positive that somebody that attended found the correct person because I know hundreds if not thousands of people were very disappointed and voiced to me that they would be posted it on all social networks. I was never asked for my ticket so I would have been able to go for free rather than paying $150.00 for the group. Nobody was ever carded so who knows how old all the drunk people were. People were going to the bathroom where ever they found a place to squat. In front of thousands of people and around food fenders. Sure why not? We left the concert 40 minutes early to try to avoid some of the traffic. We were sadly mistaken. 2 1/2 hours later we hadn't moved more than 20 feet from our parking spot. There was nobody direction traffic. Nobody. When we asked a sheriff why- he let us know that we were not special and that EVERYBODY had been waiting over 2 hours. We asked why they were not as many sheriffs directing traffic as there had been on the way in and he said that there were just as many. WRONG!!! There was TWO sheriffs directing traffic and that was once you were able to get to the highway...3 hrs later. All the other Sheriffs and police were in there little groups hanging out in the command center area or driving around on 4wheelers. They were not doing anything. There were drunk people walking on the highway- people walking up to random cars trying to find food or water because they had been waiting so long. The most unsafe event EVER. Very disappointed and will definitely be telling all. I will NEVER attend this event again and I feel bad for the companies that sponsored the event because now they are going to be associated with such an event.
