I never do reviews, but this place deserves one! 0/5 stars for me. I read some bad reviews but gave…read morethe place a chance. TRUST ME.. do NOT come. Yes there is some good equipment, but also tons of broken things, and no AC. Every mirror in the gym is stained & never cleaned. The floor is filled with tissues. Bathroom is nasty. Owner is a horrible Person. Every member I spoke too has had several bad experiences. Some racial, nearly all discriminatory. He is a very confrontational man, doesn't take care of the place. Talks down on current and former employees & Bans people if he doesn't like how they look. I got banned for having chalk in the gym to hold on to the bars that are 20 years old and are slippery. Even though I clean up after myself, there is also NO signs ANYWHERE about the use of chalk. The humidity in the gym doesn't help at all. At least there's a water fountain that you can use, it dispenses warm water that tastes like metal !

I would pass, definitely not worth it…read more Existing problems, for more than 5 years: -leaking ceiling, when it rains outside, it literally rains inside. -very dirty change rooms and washrooms, the cleaners only come in twice a week! - crammed, there is literally no room between machines or around them, a definite safety hazard, -no heat in the winter - no AC in the summer machines are only fixed when 5 or more are broken. If that takes 5 months to get 5 broken machines, that's when they will all be fixed. -cardio equipment is ancient, and more than 3/4 of it doesn't work, and hasn't worked in years -a lot of dumbbells don't have matching pair. -no personal trainers. -most lakers are broken. -mould in the showers. - rude staff, not that there is many of them. I could list a dozen more, but most have already been pointed out by others here. I would also read ALL the reviews, not just the recommended reviews.

"The machines are so close you could literally hear the next person's breathing and the music on…read moretheir headphones!" Been a member at this gym since Covid. The location is conveniently located next to dollar store and no frills. I could complete my workout and buy groceries at no frills before returning home. There is also ample fee car parking at this Eglington squire mall. The club is also 24x7 with its own entrance accessible any time. The gym also does not feel claustrophobic like the Kennedy Fit4less which was literally a basement converted to a gym. This gym is well ventilated and feels spacious with it's high ceiling. Recently they have upgraded and added almost every equipment you could think of including the staircase machines. There are enough change rooms and locker stalls. The workout equipments are also maintained in good working order. Now for the not so good things. There is no water station, only a vending machine which sells water bottles for like 3$! Recently they upgraded and cornered off an area for the privileged Black members. This caused them to move the machines much closer together for the regular members. The machines are so close you could literally hear the next person's breathing and the music on their headphones! I guess Covid would not approve this change, cause there is a high probability you could be smothered in your neighbors' sweat droplets! Ewww! Did I also tell you the gym gets super crowded on weekday evenings. Yearly fee is running in excess of 240$ and they keep increasing regularly. I detest coming to this gym but there is no better option in this neighborhood. The LA fitness at Eglington and Warden is another big crook.

1 Star - Very Poor Customer Experience…read more I am a Black Card member, and my experience at the Scarborough Golden Mile location has been very disappointing. During one visit, I spent about 30 minutes speaking with staff regarding tanning access. Despite meeting the requirements, I was denied without a clear explanation. This felt like a complete waste of time and very unprofessional. On another visit, I was in the middle of using a machine when staff told me to stop because they wanted to clean it before leaving. I asked to finish my set since all other machines were occupied, but I was told to get off immediately. I could not complete my workout. This shows a lack of respect for members and poor service overall. I am now seriously considering canceling my membership, as the main reason I joined (tanning access) was not provided. I do not recommend this location.

I have been a member of LA Fitness for years now. I joined the Eglinton East club for the AquaFit…read moreprogram. I was very happy pre-COVID with both the facility and the availability/quality of the aquafit classes. Even tho the availability of classes at the facility is now more limited post-COVID, the quality of both the facility and aquafit program remained very satisfactory. HOWEVER over the last 6 months or so, the pool facility has not been properly maintained. The pool has been closed and aquafit classes cancelled 25-50% of the times in recent months -- often simply because they have not been properly monitoring chlorine levels. Other LA Fitness clubs have not had the same issue and this particular club is NOT addressing the problem. This is not acceptable and proper procedures should be instituted at once.

Negligence, Health Risks & Zero Accountability -- Extremely Disappointed…read more I was a member of LA Fitness at 1970 Eglinton Ave East, Toronto, and this is my honest review of how poorly I was treated. Back in January, after using their jacuzzi, I experienced a severe allergic reaction. My $800 swimsuit was completely ruined -- the fabric was eaten away. I lost 5 days of work because I physically couldn't go due to the reaction on my skin. Right after the incident, I ran to the front desk. The girl working there was kind and immediately shut down the pool and jacuzzi, hoping someone would follow up with me. Unfortunately, since it was a Sunday, no manager was available. Days later, I contacted Alisha, the location's General Manager. She told me to call between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. -- while I work full-time from 9 to 8 every weekday. Still, I took time off work to go in person and speak with her. She looked confused, promised a quick response, and then... nothing. No call. No email. I continued reaching out, and again, I was asked to come in and speak with "a team member." Why? I had already explained everything. After countless follow-ups and waiting patiently, I received a cold, copy-paste response saying that no compensation would be offered. They claimed the chemicals were "within range." But if that were true, I wouldn't have had a visible allergic reaction. And my high-quality swimsuit wouldn't have been destroyed. On top of that, even just walking in to talk to a manager is counted as a check-in, and they used that against me as "proof" of facility usage -- how is that fair? I was left without answers, without support, without compensation -- and without basic respect. This is not a free facility. I was a paying member. But to receive this level of carelessness, unprofessionalism, and cold treatment when your health is at risk? Unacceptable. I loved the classes. The Zumba instructors and yoga teachers were amazing and deserve recognition. But management? Completely unaccountable and dismissive. Maybe I was just unlucky with this location, but after this experience, I will never trust this company again. Your health and time matter. Unfortunately, at this gym -- they don't.
