They even offered remote sessions which I took advantage of when I traveled away from the Seattle area to work from a new location during COVID lock-downs. Communications with Anchor Light Therapy have always been pleasant, quick, and easy (e-mail, text, or phone). They have a beautiful space with comfortable furniture and a plethora of beverages options that makes it feel more like visiting a friend. Laura has provided caring, empathetic, and judgement-free insights into my problems (like the personal stumbling blocks that I put in my own way and negative self-talk) and helps me come to possible solutions (re-framing my perspective, accepting what cannot be changed, and recognizing why some parts of my life aren't affected but others are). After a session with Laura I look back and realize that my feelings are valid (no one should tell you what to feel - they are your feelings) and that helps me move past triggers with a little more grace each time I encounter them. BONUS: Anchor Light Therapy filed all the necessary paperwork to help me get back some money from the insurance company. I didn't have to do anything other than provide her with my insurance card. I started receiving checks in the mail because of their consistent upkeep with the paperwork filings for each session. She is neglectful and frankly it makes me question her suitability for a job that requires organization and consistent communication. If you're looking for a therapist who will respect your time, this is absolutely not the person. Lynn was always very disorganized and for whatever reason completely ghosted me, despite a seemingly normal client-therapist relationship. All communication stopped cold. Despite my efforts to reach her (phone calls where I left voicemails, text, and email) I received absolutely zero response (even to this day, several months later). I started worrying that perhaps something happened to her (she is old after all). I eventually called her building (we normally communicate directly), and a colleague confirmed that Lynn was fine and they see her daily. I'm glad to hear she was okay, but that's extremely unprofessional to just ignore someone who is trying to reach you for weeks! I would have just appreciated a heads-up if she had something going on in her life (which she has previously informed me of a couple times when she was a no-show to our remote sessions). A therapist should be reliable and communicate clearly, not knowingly leave people in the dark - that's just unacceptable. I was having an issue with a friend, and she snapped, "Think about it from their point of view!" and "That must be so hard for THEM." Nothing about how I was feeling, even though I was the one in counseling. I only went to two sessions and they both ended a few minutes early. During the last session, she kept telling me she had to leave right after the session to beat traffic. She literally left the office right behind me and sped off in her car. It didn't feel like counseling - I felt like I was chit-chatting with my judgmental aunt or something.

If you are searching for help with a brain injury or anything else AVOID BHNW. Initially I was…read moreencouraged as they said they could help me based on my Qeeg and other tests. They agreed to treat me and to do follow up evaluations and treatment. I told them from the beginning that I was self-referred, that there was a lawsuit pending related to my injury and that my lawyers would likely contact them at some point for my records. Once my lawyers contacted them for my records they abandoned me as their "client" and would not talk to me about anything or coordinate my treatment with local neurofeedback practitioners as they had done previously. I responded in letters complaining and when they responded back they charged me for the time it took them to respond. This was after they told me they "closed out services from the entire firm." After this they created a second report (charged me for it) that contradicted the first report that we were using as a treatment guide. They refused to talk to me about it and told me that my local provider had to take over. My referring provider is a DO and she does not have the skillset to take over. My local neurofeedback provider (LMHC) also does not have the skillset to move forward with evaluation and treatment without BHNWs direction. They both feel that BHNW threw them under the bus. No one should be treated this way. I was abandoned mid treatment (patient abandonment) and was given a second treatment plan that contradicted the one we were working from (medical malpractice). They had zero compassion for my TBI symptoms and what the impact would be when they abandoned me. BHNW is morally and ethically corrupt. Stay clear of this place.
