Newport saved our daughter and set our family on a stable path to recovery…read more Last fall we were losing our daughter to mental health challenges, PTSD and increasingly unsafe behaviors. It took 3 tries to get her to commit to Newport, but after the first few weeks of adjustment, she made more therapeutic progress with the team at Newport than in all of the other interventions we've tried to date (years of CBT therapy, DBT skills, and peer groups) . We are now 3 months out from her discharge and we still have moments of stress but Newport put us back on the same team in terms of addressing challenges together and we have been super impressed with how our 15yo is using skills to navigate the tough moments. We are extremely grateful to the Newport team for everything they did to get through to our child and earn her trust in their process.

As an external applicant, I was offered a position at the Kirkland location in June 2026. However,…read moreI would have to agree that the reports posted by former applicants and employees have, in my experience, not been harsh enough; the organization turned out to be true and disappointing, as everyone has described. This is one more mental health organization in Washington that fails not only as a potential employer of choice, but also shows that the organization's provision of treatment to children is critically lagging in quality. "Why?" There is no consistency or balance in leadership abilities to earn the applicant's "buy-in." Instead, it was all lip service, which is best described as Washington's typical "passive-aggressive" employer. A month-long onboarding process included a chance to meet with the Clinical Supervisor and typically involved a criminal background check, a UA, and later lab work. Everything came back positive, and I was looking forward to starting at the end of June. At the end of June, I had to withdraw my application due to a family emergency, and I explained to the hiring official that I would not be able to start. I also explained the circumstances involving my mother-in-law's diagnosis with Stage 4 terminal cancer. The supervisor responded a few days later and said they were very sorry to hear about the family emergency. In their email, they say, "Please let us know if circumstances change." About a weekend into July, circumstances changed, and my family member was quickly stabilized. We were able to address the family emergency quickly, so I responded back to the supervisor and the vice president of the Northwest region, letting them know that I was available and when I could start later in July. Their attitude was a complete "bait-and-switch" reaction and a negative blow-off. Their response was "...we'll get back to you next week." An employer who holds a job open or re-extends an offer after you previously declined due to an emergency would normally demonstrate empathy and flexibility. In human resources, this signals a candidate-centric culture and a people-first employer, as hiring managers rarely hold roles unless a candidate leaves an exceptionally strong impression. You can expecThis type of employer operates much like an employer of choice, valuing human well-being and long-term fit over immediate, transactional hiring. Again, I have to agree with a public response about Newport Healthcare. This healthcare organization lacks credibility and the public's interest, especially when you burn applicants' references. The organization is based in California; however, their leadership in Washington and their unwillingness to work with an applicant they have invested a lot of time and money in preparing for onboarding completely disregard the fact that they are damaging their image by being inflexible and insensitive to their applicants, their employees, and their unwillingness, it only communicates a message that they are not a dependable employer in Washington. I would recommend that healthcare professionals avoid working for or applying to this organization. They do not exhibit a consistent message, nor do they have a consistent history of being a reliable employer.

I really didn't think I'd write a review for this place, but now that I'm suffering from the PTSD…read morethe facility caused, here we are. I admitted myself after a phone conversation guaranteeing they had space and encouraging me to come in to treat very intense suicidal thoughts with intent to act. I was on my last leg, and my motivation was my boyfriend. The intake was great. They answered our questions and explained I would start on a 24-hour observation floor, then move to a room. They said I'd meet with a psychiatrist for medication options and encouraged honesty about suicidal thoughts, noting I was well masked and could lie to leave early, which I eventually did. On the observation floor, they sat me far from the TVs. I noticed they did that with everyone so staff could watch TV. Soon after, another patient was brought in. She threw food everywhere, threatened to kill staff, said she was sent to "kill all white people," then claimed she was white and God. It took far too long for security to respond. When she walked toward me making threats, they let her. I crawled out of my chair and was offered the bathroom for protection. I stayed there about an hour. Afterward, she continued wandering over to threaten me. When they tried to medicate her, she fought them, stripped, and was eventually allowed to lock herself in a room. They offered me hydroxyzine to sleep through it. I took it, but was too afraid to sleep. I stayed awake all night watching her. At one point, I dozed off and woke to her whispering, "I know you're pretending," after they allowed her to walk across the room to me while I slept. After 24 hours, they told me they wanted to send me elsewhere due to lack of space. After everything, I refused and said I'd leave instead. Suddenly, they had space. The voluntary floor had multiple empty rooms. During the six days I was there: no group therapy, no individual therapy (only med management), inconsistent rules about belongings, blankets, and visitors. A patient with lice was admitted and not disclosed, just given a hairnet that wasn't enforced. No outdoor time. Blinds stayed shut. No clear instructions for hygiene; I didn't have underwear for three days and wasn't given hand soap initially. It took four days to decide on medication, and psych visits were brief Telehealth check-ins asking the same questions. On my last night, a nurse I hadn't seen before threw away toiletries other nurses told us to keep, was rude, and treated us like children. I requested a pillow due to pain. She said no. I requested a blanket. I was told no. She took my eye mask and shined a light in my face every 15 minutes, loudly closing the door. Other staff had been careful not to wake us - she was not. She talked loudly at 1am. I couldn't sleep. I went to read, declined more medication, returned to bed, and the noise resumed. For the first time ever, I had homicidal thoughts due to sleep deprivation. I eventually cried myself to sleep, waking every 15 minutes. At shift change, a different nurse was able to do checks without waking me. I asked to leave. I acted fine, lied about my thoughts, and was discharged. While I appreciate the resources they offer to unhoused patients, the care stops there. I actively discourage people from going here. I'm writing this because I had a full-blown panic attack from flashbacks. I have nightmares that I'll be attacked if I sleep. This place is hell.

This place is a joke. My son went there today to get help because the night before he tried to kill…read morehimself. They released him within an hour and told him to come back if he tried again. If anything happens to him I am suing them for the poor care they provided!!
