They sell your basic sewing goods and patterns, and as a design student I've made many a hasty trip here to grab some buttons or boning before they close. I'm surprised the company hasn't opened a bigger store, like the one in Lewisville, here in Denton. We have two universities in town that both have fashion design programs, so I can personally assure them that it would be worth their time. They don't sell much fabric outside of the quilter's cotton prints and polyester/rayon "silky" blends. Please, please do not waste your money on anything that claims to be "silk" or "wool" on the label. These are made with what looks, and feels, like the lowest grade material and can cost 4x as much an Armani silk or Calvin Klein wool at Golden D'Or in Dallas. No, it's not the fabrics that make me appreciate Jo-Ann's. It's the fact that it's right around the corner from me, and when I'm out of fusing or whatever (like I am now) I can make a quick trip and be back to my sewing machine in 15 minutes.

They refused to exchange because I had wrote my name in it when I first got it expecting that it was a perfectly good and new Bible. I believe they sell resused items and I am most of all disappointed in their customer service and lack of sympathy for the matter ( ie gift card , exchange, or refund). In the future I will stick with Amazon or, Michaels or TJ Maxx, and encourage anyone else who shops there to do the same .

They have an events building with free sewing on Tuesday's and Thursdays. 10:00am - 3:00pm. Also, Denton Sewing Center has an additional branch at BoxCar. There are also retreat centers where you can sleepover. The staff are all nice and very helpful when selecting fabric. They have a good selection of fabric, notions and patterns. There is a sale room that always has some fabric reduced and you can find some real gems. Their inventory is always changing. It's truly a fun shop. I do sew there every Thursday with my friends. The only drawback is it's a little bit far out there. But just enjoy the view, and listen to some music, it's worth the drive.

However, i found a gem in haystacks! I found Gilton furniture upholstery by Rafael. Rafael is very professional, friendly, and SUPER QUICK. He came to our house to carefully measure the bench. We want to reuse our bench foam and get a new fabric. So he provided me with measurements of the fabric and within a week he was able to complete the project. I am beyond amazed. When the bench was done and ready to go, I wasnt able to come to get the foam to him because life happened. Rafael was so flexible and easy to work with. I was able to come to him when I was my schedule was open. So i brought him the foam and he installed the material to the foam. It looked INCREDIBLE! So professional and so clean. It fit like a glove! Super happy with the end product. I definitely will work with him again to do all my upholstery for my other bench and outdoor furniture. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND GILTON 100%.
