My wife often has me massage her upper back and shoulders to relieve the knots she gets from work, and while I knew I was doing a decent job, I wanted to do a great job. Jamie taught me how to massage the area properly, but also gave me techniques to avoid straining my thumbs (which always got sore before). I liked that she asked us what areas we were interested in working on, then built the class around our needs. We were comfortable in her house, though I believe she lists on her website that she'll come out to your house as well. Definitely money well spent (and I'd argue she could ask for more than she's charging), and I'd recommend her to friends and family looking to take a class. The Karuna class utilizes nubby massage balls to help release tight and sore muscles and work into he fascia. It's all about listening to your body and having compassion for yourself and your yoga practice. She adjusted my poses to keep me balanced and also provided chairs to lean on when doing the crossover poses (I have balance issues and yoga was recommended to help improve my balance by my physiotherapist). The instructor of the class also demonstrated different poses to accommodate the needs of all the students. I was so impressed with the studio and the class that I immediately purchased an unlimited two week pass. Lisa provided me with a class schedule which had classes almost every day that I could attend. I would highly recommend Soul Fitness. Lisa and the instructors were very accommodating to my needs.
