I've ordered from Ming kitchen for years and Now they are super disorganized, had to repeat my order multiple times they still got it wrong . Had no idea what they were saying on the phone , the woman accused my of never even ordering an item , when i said it multiple times , the order was picked up and was still wrong . First time here. Not bad. Keep in mind this is a small place oriented to take out and delivery. I see some reviews here aren't happy with the atmosphere etc. - Lets keep this in perspective, this is a takeout restaurant with 3 formica tables, hard plastic seats, vinyl tile flooring and seating for perhaps 6 or 8 patrons. Rating this poorly on atmosphere is kind of like saying that the air conditioning on your bicycle doesn't work well. The front was clean, the young girl who worked the counter was pleasant. What it is: Decent Chinese food takeout / delivery. I phoned my order in and it was ready for on time pickup, within 10 minutes of ordering. This is not a sit down restaurant. The egg rolls were decent. Not the best I've ever had but If I I had to place them on a one to 10 scale for eggrolls they were a solid 7. Not at all greasy, & decent flavor. We had Sesame Chicken and Pork Lo Mein. Both dishes were good. Not stellar, but but still very good and if this is their norm, then I'll be back when I want Chinese takeout in this area. We had dinner for 3 for $25 including 3 bottled water; ready for pickup in 10 minutes from my phone call. That's a bargain in my book. I meant to snap a photo of their menu and post it but I forgot. We found this Chinese joint when we first moved down here. AFTER a bunch of TRY & FAIL restaurants! It was the closest food to match NYC Chinese takeout! The standard order for me is wonton egg drop soup, egg roll, LG order of well-done ribs and fried rice. My wife usually makes the entrée selection. The restaurant includes a 2-liter bottle of soda with the order. The staff knows my wife by either her voice or the address! And before the order is taken there's a few minute conversation. The food, NYC critic here, is an A-. the food ALWAYS arrives piping hot. and the place is between my wife's work and home. We found it nearly 8 years ago and we haven't found any that was worth going back to. So Ming has been our GO-TO for our Chinese take home or delivery!!! read more

Round 2 of trying to find good Chinese because I will never go back to my former favorite. Do not like the crib and baby items located in the dining room, I will never, ever eat there, but at least they weren't in the kitchen. I think you can always tell good Chinese by the egg roll and the dumplings. Great egg roll, and the wonton egg drop soup was perfect. The dumplings and wontons were not too doughy. Shrimp with garlic sauce had decent sized shrimp, and the sauce had the right amount of garlic. The prices are higher than the last 2 places, with smaller sizes, but no "extras" (see my review of Great Wall http://www.yelp.com/biz/great-wall-newark?hrid=gBB-qYmgtT0LM9i796uWBQ). I will try a few other places in my mission to find the best Chinese, but Ming will do for now. read more

Ming kitchen has some of the best Chinese chicken wings that I have ever had. The shrimp fried rice is also good. I have an irregular appetite, and have difficulty finishing meals but was able to find comfort in the chicken wings and fried rice. Very consistent and always hot. read more

Be aware- there's a skimming trick a lot of restaurants (esp fast food or take out places do). Paying in cash they "forget" to give you exact change back or with a card they charge you a quarter more. A quarter is nothing, but at the end of the day when they do that to every customer, it adds up. I've ordered from here a number of times and the food is decent. Last night I went in and the guy charged me $8.00 when my food was 7.75. That's weird because Nothing on the menu is $8.00, nothing. As soon as I asked him his face changed, he knew he got caught and said oh let me give you a quarter. Of course the lady who works there starts defending him (she didn't even see what happened) because she does the same thing to her customers. Anyway, time to find a new Chinese place. read more

Upon writing this review I seen they already have a 2.5 star rating. They aren't that good. Let's start with appearances, they have a buffet setup that didn't have any food in the trays but school supplies and coloring books. Is this a daycare? No. I come to the register and a 12 yo boy takes my order. Asks me twice if I want anything else. I'm like no. Im polite and so is he. I order bbq spare rib tips with sfr. The ribs were full of bones and over cooked. I will not be back. read more

Love this spot! Although they are a bit under staffed and it takes a bit longer because of covid its a great place.

I had chance to eat over this place with my friends about two months ago. It is a small family who run the family and if I was right they also did deliver as well. The good was good. May be I am lucky that I catch them right before it canes from kitchen. I had chicken wings and general Tso's chicken. The taste is great. It's tough to rate accurately because the food is actually really good but their customer service is TERRIBLE. The person taking orders seems like she's agitated 24/7, delivery sometimes takes 15 minutes and sometimes it's over 1.5 hours. If I found another place that has similar flavors I would no longer order from this establishment. read more

The atmosphere sucks in this restaurant! After a long day at work, I stopped in to pick up dinner. The moment I walked in the door, I heard the ear splitting shrieking of out of control children. It turns out that they were the owners children. There were toys all over the floor. One of the children even broke some sort of plastic toy on the ground near the counter, where a customer could have slipped and fell on the pieces. The little boy was pushing some sort of toy truck or car on the ground, then pushed it all over the counter on the buffet. Disgusting and very unsanitary! The food isn't very good. I ordered the sesame chicken and wonton soup. Hands down, it was the worst wonton soup I have ever had. The wontons were very soggy and tasted terrible. The sesame chicken was marginally edible but a little too greasy. I ended up throwing most of the meal out. Not a good deal for $11. Left with both my dinner and the beginnings of a nasty headache. Typical fast food Chinese. Delivery is usually slow but the people are friendly so usually just go pick it up.

I love this establishment because despite the kids that they have out side they have the best Chinese food like since it's a family restaurant it's an awesome place to be when you walk in its a very home like feeling good job and the food is top notch read more
