I really want to try the half-chicken and chips, as it's supposed to be one of the best in Hamburg, however when I went the other week they'd already sold out! Went here first Germany visit back in January 2014; this visit in July 2014 went 3 times. On the first visit in July the owner recognized me from the January visit, wow 6 month who knows how many customers and he recognizes me :). From my 3 meals there all were good BUT the rotisserie chicken I had was probably the best I had since living in Germany 35 years, yes years ago! The skin was perfectly roasted NOT the least bit soggy; but the meat was so moist and tender. The cucumber salad with oil and vinegar dressing had great taste, wish my dressing be like that when I make it. :( According to the owner all the recipes are made by his wife, who I did not meet. None of the so called "German" restaurant foods I have eaten throughout the US even come anywhere close to this Imbiss place. Only have 2 complaints.... why can't this place be in New York?? :( and as everything is so GOOD the biggest challenge is what to order :) Can't wait to eat here again on next Germany visit! :) For all the lucky locals go enjoy this place!!! :)

The service was good but I not sure how much English they understood. We would have asked for the curry sauce on the side and very light ketchup and mayonnaise. They only had high tables for eating. It was messy to eat and no place to clean your hands. I would go back and try again but use a translator.
