After staying at this daycare for my sons first year we are leaving with a sigh of relief,…read moreespecially in light of recent studies confirming our concern for screen time. He was in the 6 weeks to 18 month room(yes, that's really the span) where he was placed in front of the TV for multiple episodes daily, despite our polite disagreement with this policy and request for him to be put elsewhere when it is on(which was only heeded for 1 week). They did not have any form of accountability for the amount of screen time they were exposing the infants to, and the director refused to do anything to hold her staff to their already unhealthy policy. Furthermore the baby room class did not go outside one time while he was enrolled... Unfortunately, these are just a few of my complaints which range from the back doors being wedged open to the very poor diet. I have heard really good things about their older children's programs, but I would be wary to enroll any child under 2 at this facility. They will not respect your suggestions. Note this is a stock photo for emphasis and is not from the facility.

This facility used to be great, very loving and child centered with great/patient teachers. Teachers seem to act one way toward parents and another way once the parents leave, being very stern to small children. Children are often expected to sit for periods of time that are not age appropriate and then punished for getting up out of their seats or talking (even at two years old). I do not believe their expectations are age appropriate and many teachers I witnessed did not have a kind and loving spirit when speaking to these small, impressionable children.

At the age of 1 she was diagnosed with a speech impediment. Me and my husband felt she had a learning disability. We were referred from a physician friend to Roanoke Valley Montessori for our daughter. This has been the Greatest gift for our daughter. We were assured by the Director that our daughter did not have a learning disability. The speech impediment is gone. Our daughter has been thriving since being at Roanoke Valley Montessori School. After seeing her pediatrician, she agrees our daughter has thrived being at this school. I cannot say enough about the cleanliness of this school either, it is absolutely immaculate in cleanliness, it is so clean you can smell the clean. Thank you to all of the teachers and the Director Ms Michele for allowing our daughter a place in your school. We are forever eternally grateful.

I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff at Roanoke Valley Children's Academy…read more They have been excellent communicator's and Are always attentive to my son and even me! It breaks my heart to see some of the negative reviews on here, because This simply has not been our experience. I think many of the concerns from others are simply a difference in one's beliefs and opinions. You have a choice where to send your child, and if you don't like the care that they are receiving, you can leave. I personally Would recommend this daycare/school to anyone who asked me. My son is thriving and so excited to see the people there!

I was very concerned about putting our near 1-year old only child in ANY daycare. But we both work full time and had no choice. I am SO happy to say this experience has been so much more than the "baby-sitting" I expected. Our son is constantly surprising us with the little things he has learned at Honeytree that I honestly have zero time to teach him myself. He is engaged in interesting activities on a daily basis, each week is uniquely themed to learn about new subjects and his teachers, without a doubt, are very high quality individuals that have a passion for what they do...which is take care of the most important thing in my life, my son. I am VERY happy to be a part of the Honeytree family!

I would give 0 stars if I could. YOU DEFINITELY NEED A BACK-UP CHILDCARE PLAN EVEN IF THEY PROMISE…read moreYOU HAVE A SPOT!!! We contacted Honeytree the day after I found out I was pregnant and told we had a spot in their infant room. My daughter ended up needing open heart surgery and would start daycare later than originally planned so we called and updated them and were told "this far out we can definitely accommodate you" and adjusted her start date to 1 April. I then got an email a few weeks ago saying they couldn't enroll her. The manager took 3 days to respond to my email asking if her email was to the wrong person given her previous assurances we had a spot. She only replied after I stopped in and she wouldn't see me. I tried asking local (Riverwalk) manager if my daughter was still on the waiting list and if there were spots at any of the other locations she could help coordinate as we'd been guaranteed a spot and had no back-up plan. When she didn't respond to that email I tried emailing corporate and it's now been 2 weeks with nobody answering. We've lost all faith and have found alternate child care, but this is no way to treat people.
