The customer service here is the worst I've ever experienced. To get a lab request faxed, it…read morerequired 8 phone calls on my part, a portal message to my provider, and a website message. The portal and website messages were never returned. A voicemail left for the triage department was not returned for 2 1/2 days. Because of the lack of follow-through by this clinic, they made me reschedule my appointment with my provider, and my provider did not have any openings for over a month. When the rescheduled appointment finally came around, I sat in the virtual waiting room for 45 minutes. The provider, Ilana Farb, never showed up for my appointment. I was extremely upset, called the clinic to report my missing provider, and couldn't report it to anyone because no one answered the phone. The automated system left me on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up. I called again, chose the triage nurse option, and left a voicemail reporting the issue. I said I expected a call back that day. The call never came. The next day I repeatedly called to reach someone, anyone. I was finally connected with a person, who arranged for my provider to call me on her lunch hour. I explained to my provider, Ilana Farb, that it was difficult to trust her care when she doesn't respond to her messages and the clinic provides such poor customer service. She then argued with me and told me I didn't send her a portal message, said I needed to talk with the clinic manager about the customer service issues, and she just wanted to discuss medical issues. She didn't seem to understand that the quality of medical care is unable to be separated from the customer service issues and that the stress of this experience is likely having a massive effect on my hormones. She also did not apologize for not showing up to my appointment the day before. I terminated my medical care with her during this phone call. She ended the call by saying the clinic manager would still call me the next day. Unsurprisingly, the clinic manager did not call. I only wish I had read other reviews before I began with this clinic. Clearly I am not the only person who has received this treatment. Many other patients have reported these same problems and yet this clinic continues to put patients through this. This is very suprising and ironic treatment from a clinic whose mission is creating "a warm and welcoming environment, one in which we can provide the absolute best care available with a focus on your unique needs. We partner with you in your healthcare decisions by listening and responding to your individual concerns." The treatment I received was the exact opposite of this mission statement. I will be filing a complaint with the Minnesota Department of Health. This kind of patient treatment is unacceptable.

I'm a big one for calling out people who are a true credit to their profession and really go above and beyond for me as a patient. It's so eye opening to be on the other end of the health care side. The care giver side and not the analytical numbers side. This is my second appointment. This time I met with Patty who was absolutely fabulous! I hope for my sake and continuity of care I get to be with her all the time. She is one of the warmest, most educated, compassionate and helpful nurses I have ever met with. She explains everything so well and detailed that its easy to catch on and learn what you have to do. She's patient and just has a wonderful demeanor. Having to do what I have to do is not the best time nutrition wise, but its a small price to pay for the end result. I never thought I would have homework to do, but this stuff is an onslaught of info, charting etc. She explains it all very easily and not in a preachy way. I've learned so much from her. Things I have never really cared about that much, but have a better understanding of pre- and post baby. All the Yelp restaurants, food pics and temptations have to be put on the back burner for awhile, but an occasional indulgence here and there.... Now once baby gets here, I plan to get busy... Kidding (sort of )...No really; kidding. I don't want to have to do this again, but would if I got to go back to this clinic and have Patty work with me.

As a previous reviewer mentioned, Dr. Grande is close to retirement age. His calmness and knowledge is a direct result of his many years of experience. He has always provided me with the information I need; has always answered my questions thoroughly; and has always made me feel comfortable and well cared for. He delivered my middle daughter; then managed my pregnancy and delivery of my surrogate pregnancy for my sister; and then delivered my youngest child. Every time he was top notch. Even in emergent situations, he was able to remain calm and keep me calm as if he understood the severity but knew exactly what he was doing. That demeanor only comes with experience. I'm not sure if all of the MDs at Metro special their own patients or if it's just Dr. Grande. But there have been times I've needed to wait awhile as he tends to his other patients in need. The staff have always been helpful when I ask and I've even gone to grab coffee and they've called me to return when he was in his way back. Ive been the other person on the other side when he's left clinic to check in on me; so I've always been happy to wait for him. He's well worth it.

At one point, I was going to bed knowing I needed an appointment the next morning but had no idea whether I would be able to get one. During an IVF cycle, that uncertainty is incredibly stressful because missed monitoring can jeopardize the cycle and potentially thousands of dollars. After I left a negative review, the office manager stepped in to help make sure the final two appointments happened. I was willing to give the practice some grace because there had been a holiday and, ultimately, the appointments were completed. Then I started receiving bills that did not match what I had been told to pay upfront. The first bill was eventually explained to me as a front-desk coding error. I was told that several blood tests had not been included when the services were initially coded. I accepted that explanation as a possible administrative mistake. Then I received two more bills. This time, I was given no explanation for why I owed additional money and no itemized bill showing exactly what I was being charged for or how the amounts were calculated. I had already been required to prepay for the services as a CNY patient. I paid based on the amount I was quoted and the signed estimate, and I have receipts documenting those payments. There was also a misunderstanding regarding how the services would be billed. I specifically explained that my health insurance does not cover IVF and that I had an alternate employment benefit through which I would submit the services. I was told that it was the practice's policy to keep insurance information on file. I was not told that I would subsequently be billed amounts beyond what I had been required to prepay, and I am now receiving charges without a clear accounting of what they are for. At this point, I have requested an itemized bill showing each service performed, the amount charged, the payments I made, any insurance or benefit submissions, and the basis for each remaining balance. I have not received the documentation necessary to reconcile these bills. The most frustrating part is that all of this happened while I was going through IVF, which is already an extraordinarily stressful and vulnerable experience. Patients should not have to worry about whether they will be able to get time-sensitive monitoring scheduled, whether their cycle will be jeopardized by scheduling problems, or whether they will later receive unexplained bills after being required to prepay. I sincerely hope the practice addresses both the scheduling and billing issues. Patients going through fertility treatment deserve clear communication, consistent scheduling, and financial transparency.

First off, all of the providers are so kind and genuinely care about my well being and baby's well being. Our ultrasound tech was one of the warmest, sweetest, caring techs I've ever encountered. She explained everything in thorough detail and kept us aware of everything she was doing. I like that A Dr. comes in after to confirm all of the findings so I didn't have to wait to find out. She was great also. As was the provider explaining everything in great depth and detail of what the u/s would consist of before hand. You can never have too much information in my opinion when you are treating a patient. The delivery from a provider means a lot too. The location is great. If you have to drive, park in the red ramp. However, they don't validate. So parking is on your own. The front desk staff gets you in and out quickly. The waiting room is filled with plenty of magazines and a TV. I couldn't have asked for better providers or better care. Dr's and clinics need to know how they are doing a good job, too.

A few months ago I went to see Dr. McCarthy in Eagan. He works out of both Eagan and West St. Paul. I had a really bad toenail. After some discussion we decided to remove the nail. The process was much easier than I had anticipated and relatively painless. My toe feels much better. I recently went back to see Dr. McCarthy to discuss both of my big toes. He gave me a couple of treatment options. Again we were able to complete the procedure the same day. My wife has now also seen Dr. McCarthy for a foot issue. Busy clinic. They lost my bloodwork request fax…read more Didn't add either my appointment or test results to MyChart. When I rang "their" number it's the central Allina number in Coon Rapids, who couldn't get hold of them (no one picked up) and couldn't provide me with a direct number, as the Coon Rapids telephone factory operates internally with only extensions. There is no number for this clinic. Blood work elsewhere, eg. Allina United Family Clinic, is usually same day and appears on MyChart. Apparently the African American lab staff also have to deal with racism from patients who don't want their blood drawn by black people. Go anywhere else. Adding this: I found out a few days later that they hadn't billed the blood tests to my insurance, and consequently I got a bill for $$677.29. This necessitated me having to create an account with Quest Diagnostics and go and enter insurance information there. It's still pending. Results didn't take the usual day, they took a week to receive and only after I'd registered and entered insurance details with Quest Diagnostic. It was like Quest were holding them until they knew where payment was coming from. Results are not on my Allina's MyChart, meaning the feature where you can compare them to previous test results was defeated. I've been an Allina/United Hospital patient for years. My insurance details are already all in their system. There's just no excuse for this level of discombobulation just because i'd moved and thought I'd get my regular tests done at a nearer Allina clinic. I'll be taking the bus an hour each way to my former clinic rather than go through this again.
