The check in kiosk did not seem to be operating normally, but I was able to figure it out...The actual appointment could not have gone better. Zero wait time, issue was quickly diagnosed, treatment explained and completed in short order. Nurse Practitioner Sarah J. was pleasant and clearly explained what she was doing and the issue was cleared up immediately. I will definitely go back when it makes sense, as the 1-3 month wait offered by Northwestern Medicine was not acceptable. In my view Minute Clinic (at least this one) is the future of medicine... Online, I was told there was a wait time of 16 minutes, which is why I drove the extra distance even though the Mundelein Target location was more convenient. I arrived around 1:30, registered, and was informed there would be a 1 hour 21 minute wait - the sign on the door said there was a patient being seen, but the registration screen said they were on a lunch break. An hour and a half lunch break at 1:30 when their hours were advertised from opening until 2:00, with a half hour hiatus (lunch break, I assume) before reopening at 2:30? I also assume they don't care much about their patrons and their well-being. Even worse, the pharmacy staff could provide me no advice as they seemed to have no idea about how the clinic operates. Sadly, I have a regular physician as part of a practice with walk-in hours, but chose this option because they now have a horrible PA who I always get stuck with if I cannot wait a few months before being seen. Health care in this country sucks, in general. I ended up purchasing maximum strength Azo and going home to treat my UTI. Wish me luck! read more

I went to my PCP (an actual doctor and not a rude uneducated nurse) and was immediately diagnosed with a sinus infection. CVS minute clinic is an absolute waste of time and money. I went to the minute clinic last Thursday afternoon with a bad cough, burning chest and a low grade fever. I was examined, told my lungs were clear and then was told I have a cold (even though my nose wasn't even stuffy). By the next morning I felt even worse and went to my allergist. When he listened to my lungs I was so bad that I needed breathing treatments and was diagnosed with bronchitis. I left with lots of meds and an inhaler. I am so glad I followed up with my doctor the next day. Don't waste your time at the Minute Clinic. The doctor is condescending and apparently not very good at her job. read more

Can't really say how the clinic was, I couldn't see anyone. They say they close at 4:30 on Sunday and the website said approximate wait time was 6 min. I live about 3 min away and arrived at 3:44, only to be greeted by a sign that said not accepting any additional patients today?? Total waste of my time. read more

Absolutely unacceptable and they were definitely NOT TRANSPARENT in the timing of their results...do not go to CVS for testing...they are the only ones who cannot return results in a timely manner. All there is to say about this place is LOL.. you'll get called honey after anything she says. Had all the signs of the flu and I said am I getting any medicine and she said "honey do you know how we treat virus? Advil" Went somewhere else tested positive for flu and got everything. Extremely unprofessional nurse practitioner, I did not feel comfortable being seen by her...kept calling me 'girlfriend'. Despite being exposed to strep throat, pink eye, and the flu and having many of the symptoms, she did not test me for anything, told me to take some Advil and go home. Thankful there was another urgent care clinic nearby that I had to go to to get treated immediately afterwards, turns out I did have the flu. It would have been nice if she would have at least tested me for it instead of wasting my time. read more

I've never used the "Minute Clinic" - my comments relate to the pharmacy service. I've been a customer here for about 5 years and as a senior, I've got several medications needed. I never had a problem until this year. One of my prescriptions call for a quantity of 60 for a thirty day supply (2x daily). In January I saw a status of "in process" for this scrip for two days. It should've been filled by the 9th of the month and when I didn't hear anything I called to ask why it still showed "in process" as of the 11th. I was told they were out of stock and wouldn't be able to fill until the following week. Since I was already out I asked if there was a generic substitute available. My first question was why didn't anyone call me to let me know of the stock shortage and suggest the generic substitution?? It didn't seem right that I had to be the one to try and resolve their inventory control issues? They did have a partial quantity of a generic available so I asked that they give me what they had. I then had to get a new scrip from my Dr to fill the remaining balance of 20. So eventually, it worked out. Now, two months later the SAME problem. This time I didn't wait two days before asking what the "in process" status really meant. Went thru the same routine ~ they had just run out of the medication prescribed ~ I HAD TO ASK (again!) if they had a generic substitute which they did but again, only a partial quantity. I expect after filling this same scrip every month for several years, they would have a process in place to plan on having enough product available to meet upcoming needs. Once I get past this specific problem, I am done with CVS in Third Lake. read more

This place, the professionals, and policy in place is NOT medical care. I scheduled a 5:40p only to wait until 5:50p to be told I would need to have a covid test first. However, because it was so late in the day I would have to come back tomorrow because they are closing. I expressed my concern and was told, "you don't feel good." Correct that is why I made the appointment in the first place. Meanwhile they cleaned the office and got the trash together while not seeing me for my appointment. I am fully vaccinated and presented with ear pain. I was okay getting the covid rapid screening but to be told I would need to come back tomorrow and to be completely ignored should not be allowed. Bottom line she wanted to end her shift and clock out. No regard for the person asking for help. I did file a complaint with CVS at 1.888.389.2727. The individual that took my call was empathetic and apologized. CVS take a look at who is the frontline and face of your company. read more

Saw nurse practitioner Laurinia Hunter yesterday. I don't know if she was having a bad day but I have never had a health care professional behave the way that she did. I can't emphasize enough how horrible her bedside manner was.. She read the CVS assessment script from the computer with her back to us and when I tried to give her a response that was more than a one or two word answer she would cut me off. My favorite part was when she very literally jammed a tongue depressor into my mouth, hitting the back of my throat, and initiated an intense gag reflex (so at this point I just wanted to get the hell out of there and away from her). She stated that she would not prescribe anything because 'there are only two bacterial illnesses that cause a cough and they are pneumonia and whooping cough' (this is incorrect--bronchitis can be the result of a bacterial infection, especially if it follows an upper respiratory viral infection), that it is normal for a cough to last eight weeks and she ultimately diagnosed me with a common cold. Turns out what I actually have is acute bronchitis that developed from a cold. Basically, if you want an accurate diagnosis I recommend coming to the third lake minuteclinic when this particular NP is not on duty. read more
