I always feel bad walking into a business and telling them that my emergency is super important and they have to get it down NOW, but the folks at Buzzbizz were super helpful and said that they would get started on it right away. Layout / look / feel: 3 out of 5 The PRESS is a fairly simple and straightforward paper from a design perspective, something that I find very comforting. Weekly papers from other cities and states really push the boundaries of newspaper design / graphic design / layout and can be a pain the butt to read. The PRESS is easy on the eyes and on the mind, albeit a tad bit boring. But that's fine for layout. Advertising: 2 out of 5 There are an abundance of ads in the PRESS but the ads tend to be good and useful. I learn about most of the upcoming shows & events not from the Events Calendar in the paper, but from the ads I see in the paper. While I would want to see fewer ads, I understand that advertising is how these people make money so it's a good, delicate balance. Content: 4 out of 5 As I mentioned already, the Dr. Fermento reviews and Brendan Joel Kelly articles are not to be missed. Kristia DeGeorge and Scott Christensen do a good job with their editorials and reporting, and the feature articles are almost always a good read. The Blotter is entertaining as well. Comics & crossword: 3 out of 5 The comics are pretty average except for Perfect World which always gets me. I miss the Lee Post comics. Crosswords from the Press are about as difficult as the Tuesday or Wednesday NYT crossword puzzle, albeit a bit longer.

Does this reflect poor management or the fact that Anchorage lacks a vital entertainment scene? Hard to say. All I know is that I don't read it, and on occasions that I do grab a copy, I do so quickly and hope no one saw.

She told me she'd gotten so used to everything being coated in dust and fur that the whole house seems brighter. She seems brighter too! My family was not happy about having strangers come clean their home but I held firm and told them it was a medical and safety concern. Fortunately, my family did a complete 180 after meeting them and seeing the transformation. They decided to hire Michael and his team for regular housecleaning appointments. I am so happy I don't have to worry about this anymore...thank you so much Michael! As a side note on trust and integrity...one of the workers found a $100 bill that fell out of a book and promptly turned it over. We weren't even paying attention when it was found, honesty is everything!

Beware to not optimize service options in their online system, which is accessible to those who makes an account on the website to book services. The owner will blame you for customizing services for your needs which she calls "improperly booking services online", despite expensive itemized options are available for the lower cleaning service. Here is why I can't say the house was cleaned to my expectations: Each cleaner worked in her own area but as far as I could tell no one did a run-through at the end to make sure nothing was forgotten. Most of the cabinet faces were washed but not all. The front of the kitchen peninsula was neglected and that is a biggie as it faces the living areas. The window seals and ledges were still dusty. I went around and cleaned what they missed and wasn't even too sad about that. At this point I would've gladly given them 4 stars and maybe even 5. The part that was dumbfounding to us was they didn't clean the freezer section of the fridge. It's a combo fridge andin my other houses I've never had a deep cleaner *not* wipe down the freezer part. When I realized the freezer had been forgotten, I called to let them know and the response came back as texts. She told me we asked for the fridge to be cleaned but didn't mention the freezer. I could pick up the slack on the other things that got overlooked but due to a medical challenge I cannot clean a freezer. At the end she offered (again, via text) to send someone back (for an undisclosed price) but it's been 4 days and I've still heard nothing back. More than anything I'm disappointed because we paid a considerable amount of money and it seems no one from White Lilac cared enough to tie up loose ends. Again, I feel like the ladies did a fine job; the problem is with the way the service is run. Someone should walk through the property at the end to ensure no one forgot anything. And maybe next time someone asks to have their fridge cleaned, you can get the customer to specify about the freezer so you don't run into this problem again. By the way, just to make sure we weren't up in the night, I happened to be in a meeting the next day and all 14 ppl agreed that in their minds, cleaning a fridge that's a combo means cleaning the freezer too. I would recommend this service but with the caveats that the customer needs to be very specific about what they want cleaned and someone needs to be there to make sure everything was cleaned.
