I've had my lashes done by another company and have had absolutely no issues with burning. The glue they use at this place burns like hell; and the owner Jen insists that's normal. From my previous experience of having my lashes done for two years at another place: burning is NOT normal!! I had to take a break from getting my lashes done because of inflammation of my eyes when I've gotten them done here. I convinced myself this was "due to something else" and gave Mix Salon the BENEFIT of the doubt. Months later I come back and it burns again; with yet another visit to the doctors office. Be careful. Parking sucks- horribly; though that's not something the place controls. It's not their fault they're located at a place that'll nearly guarantee you're late if you drive. So leave like, an hour early from your appointment. Pricing is very shady: the appointment app they use will hook you with "special offer deal", and randomly change your appointment time. By the time it's too late to cancel the promotion suddenly disappears and your card is charged the normal price! Difference of nearly $100 counting the tip they automatically charge. The owner Jen has been doing lashes for years: but she moved away and left the place to her associate. She "manages" from afar; while still being able to text you in a manner that's unprofessional. But that's just me. In summary: 1. Every single time it burns!! 2. Appointment booking is really shady. 3. Prices are "cheap" but end up sky high with automatic charging and automatic tip regardless of whether you think it's botched or not. 4. Owner moved away leaving the place to a girl with less experience. 5. Parking sucks. Leave an hour in advance. Or uber/public trans it. That's if you're willing to take the risk with the burning, eye inflammation, and wallet assault. We can all do better. read more

To say I love minx salon is an understatement. I AM OBSESSED and addicted!!!!! I get my lashes and a spray tan at least once a month done by miss Jenny. She is AMAZING in every way. She has such a skill for making my lashes and spray tan look natural. Its perfect for my job as a personal trainer and a full-time nurse. People always compliment me on my lashes and say that I am glowing - its nice with my busy schedule to wake up in the morning and just feel beautiful without having to put any effort in. I usually tell people who compliment me that my tan and eyelashes are actually fake and they are shocked - they usually end up getting Jenny's contact information because she is just the best. The only thing to learn about fake eye lashes if it is your first time is to read about eyelash cycles. Be sure to take care of them - no oils on your face and you will be fine. Its the a way better investment than mascara. My last comment is on the ionic foot bath - i did it for the first time and didn't feel any different immediately after but the next day i slept 14 hours. no joke! if you know me you know that I never sleep - i am one of those 5 hours only OCD have to be doing something at all times type of people. the ionic foot bath left me feeling so rejuvenated the next day. so be sure that you are able to get some good rest the next day if you try it. cant wait to try it again and see if I see different results. xo read more

Amazing experience. Got a full set of lashes. She was quick and conscious of everything. She even coached me on how to identify bad eyelash jobs for the future and took care of the situation I had going on. When I left my eyelashes were on point and perfect for about 3 weeks! Amazing outcome. Even got a spray tan; she did it personally. Fast and even. Just how I like them. Clean and the other staff was friendly as well. I will be going back. read more

I have always been wondering what the rage in Minx lashes was, and finally got an opportunity to see for myself with a Groupon here. Jenifer is absolutely amazing. I believe she has been doing this for the past 5 years, and is very patient and knowledgeable about lashes and hair follicle cycles and so on. I was running a little late with the festival going on and creating a back flow of traffic where I basically walked as fast as the bus would go. Jenifer still put in the extra time to make sure that she was able to get as many lashes as she could attached. If you are going for a natural look then this is the best spot to get them at. I still like a more dramatic look so I will have to try that out the next time. Prices are comparable to other lash spots in the city. read more

I discovered Minx Salon on yelp and went there for eyelash extensions based on the reviews, so I feel compelled to add one myself... I've been going to Jenifer for almost a year now - hard to believe since I was only going to do them a few times through "wedding season" - but I became addicted and here I am... Jenifer does an amazing job; the quality of lashes she uses is topnotch, the lifespan completely exceeded my expectations (I typically go 4-5 weeks before a fill, although 3-4 is recommended), and it's incredible how real they look and feel (I apply and remove makeup/wash my face the same, totally forget I have them). I get compliments on my eyelashes, probably 2-3 times a week - which ordinarily would be a weird one to receive, but in this case I love it. It's so convenient not needing eyeliner or mascara on a daily basis but feel confident as if I was wearing both. But then for dressier occasions I can add both; they are just enhanced and look fantastic! Whether you just want them for a few weeks or it becomes a habit, I highly recommend Minx Salon for eyelash extensions! Got a full set of lashes done and they are absolutely beautiful. I've been going to Minx Salon for a few months now after moving to Chicago from LA and Jenifer always does the most incredible job. I get SO many compliments and it's like I wake up with the most beautiful make up on every day. The lashes are all individually applied and they definitely stay strong for a quite a few weeks. Jenifer is the best! I've been going here for spray tans for years. She uses an organic, quick drying solution that doesn't stain sheets and towels. It always gives me a natural looking tan. I got my eye lash extensions done by Jenifer at Pin Me Up Chicago, and I absolutely LOVE them. It took just under an hour at a great price, and she was so sweet! It went by super fast, and most importantly, my lashes look great! I had mine done a few years ago at Chicago Lashes, and I personally think she did a better job. I'm African-American with stretch marks that are light in color that I am very insecure about, but I have to say after leaving my appointment with jenifer I have never felt more confident. She spray tanned my sides and bottom making the skin appear very even toned! I will definitely be returning. She also sold me on receiving those beautiful Minx lash extensions at a later appointment which are absolutely FABULOUS! They are very light in weight and I experienced no irritation! Absolutely FABULOUS service!!!! I was in Chicago for work and decided to try the eyelash extensions that I have been contemplating for years. Jen was AMAZING! She was so fun to talk with and her work is impeccable. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The lashes look real and I don't even know I'm wearing them. The application process was quick and painless (and I have VERY sensitive eyes, think Rachel on Friends when she had to put drops in her eyes). It's 2.5 weeks since I had the service and they still look GREAT! While I'm four hours south of Chicago, I will definitely be back...and I'm bringing my friends!
