This place has been open for many years, and after 17 years of living in Missoula I recently came here for the first time. Scheduling was easy. I was able to book online via their website. From there you can sort by the availability of each stylist or by the day. You are able to control who does your hair and there is a brief description of the stylist that you can read prior to scheduling. I booked my appointment on Sunday and made it for the next day. Kendra was my stylist and made sure my cut was exactly as I wanted it before leaving. She was pleasant and didn't rush. I was very happy with my results. I also ended up scheduling an appointment for my teenage daughter with a different stylist (Natalya). She cut my daughter's hair just as she asked and even put some waves in it. The salon is on the larger size with many stylists working at once. I know prices of haircuts have gone up, but they seem to charge the same as other salons in the area, if not less. I payed $60 each for our haircuts, and after looking around at other salons, some were charging $70-$80 for the exact same service. I would definitely recommend trying then out if you haven't already. I don't know why it has taken me so many years to try this salon for as many times as I have driven by over the years. read more

My whole family goes here and we love it! I went to Burton's when I first moved here at their recommendation and I was so satisfied. I've had a friend cut my hair for the last few years but finally decided to go back after my best friend recommended Daisy, who she followed from another salon to Burton's. I couldn't be happier! She gave me exactly what I asked for and was so friendly! We chatted, laughed and she made sure I loved my hair before finishing up the appointment. It's only been a few days and I've already gotten so many compliments! I highly recommend Daisy and Burton's in general. Love coming here to get my hair cut by Daisy- she is amazing! I've seen her for almost a year and she knows exactly how to cut my longish, wavy brown hair (which is harder than you would think!). I've been to this salon a hand full of times just for shear availability to get an appointment and not because of the service. After my last visit on August 7th of 2020 though I vowed to never return. My appointment was with Angel(the owner and high level stylist.) I went for a color and cut over a month ago and out of all the salons in Missoula/Polson/Kalispell area, I decided on Burton's after seeing good reviews and a lot of Instagram photos. This was a HUGE mistake. The ownership and management is very hostile and toxic, even after I expressed that in was unhappy with my results. I went into the salon for a color change that I knew could take up to a few sessions (dark brown to pink ombré). I had done my research and carefully picked my stylist and salon so that it would be done correctly. They lightened my hair as much as it would lighten in one session, apparently. It ended up coming out super orange and copper colored. They sold me a pink shampoo that I didn't need at all since my hair wasn't light enough to take it. They told me I would have to wait 6 weeks for my next session for my hair to heal, which I have never heard of before and sounds odd. I didn't want to hurt the stylists feelings and say that I didn't like it, because she was so nice. So I waited to call the next day to speak with the manager Krista. I tried explaining that it was too orange and I wanted it toned differently while I waited the 6 weeks, but before I could even get another sentence out she talked over me and basically said I knew what I was getting myself into and to come back for my next appointment. Oh and she mentioned that I could talk to the owner if I really wanted to. I thought the whole thing was weird, but I'm not a hair expert so I decided to trust what she told me. As my next appointment was approaching, I just didn't feel comfortable going back since my experience wasn't great the first time. I called the owner in hopes of finding some sort of solution to the $250 I spent there, but she was even worse than the manager. Angel wasn't trying to understand why I wasn't happy and offered no real solution. She talked over me the entire conversation, tried making personal attacks at me but stopped herself, and raised her voice at me over the phone. I have never had an experience like this at a professional salon. They agreed to give me a refund for the shampoo that was sold to me for no reason, but it wasn't until I mentioned that I filmed the first appointment for my YouTube channel and Instagram that she changed her tone. Then she offered the solution to come in for another appointment that she would oversee personally with a "small" discount of 100-150. I have never had such a horrible experience with management or the owner of a professional salon. I don't even feel comfortable returning the shampoo, based on how toxic my interactions were with them over the phone. read more

I was looking for a walk in salon, overall the salon was very clean and orderly- Gary was my stylist, he listened to what I wanted and my hair looked very god after he cut it but I was under the impression that I was paying $60 for a cut and style and all I got was a cut and blow dry. had haircut from Roy. Told him I wanted to keep length but have layered. I bought in pictures of the haircut I wanted. He told me I couldn't have the layered look of the picture, or it would look like a helmet on my head. He then proceeded to cut off 6" of my hair. worst haircut of my life and I'm 60. He said he knew what he was doing as he had been cutting hair for decades. After paying $75.00 for haircut, I left with my pictures of haircut I wanted and drove down the road to cost cutters. I showed my pictures, and the hair cut I got and left with was exactly what I wanted. This has been the best haircut I've ever gotten, and it was only $24.00. Since this happened, my hair has grown about 4 inches back, thankfully my hair grows very fast. I just got my 3rd hair cut from cost cutters, and they were able to give me all the layers without taking any more length off. I've gotten so may compliments form family and friends. Seriously save money and don't end up with worst haircut of your life by going to Burton's. I never write reviews but now it's been a few months and so decided to share my experience. read more

It can be hard to find a good place for a guy's haircut, and not a ton of options in Missoula. Angel at Burton's is great. She does a great job, listens to what I want and get the cut right every time, and is generally a super person. Highly recommend her. Great to be able to schedule appointments online, and Angel is even willing to come in after hours when needed, which is great when I have to work late and find it difficult to come in during banker's hours. read more

Found this while searching for hair salon in the area . Lots of staff so was able to schedule pretty easy online . They all seemed to know how to do color / balayage well from the photos online and parking wasn't a pain like downtown . Prices are pretty par for color at least but their haircut prices are definitely higher then some in the area . With that being said for color at least I'll definitely be back read more

I received a phone call from the owner Angel, after she read my review. She offered another haircut to be sure I got exactly what I wanted, or any other services done to make up for my first experience. I think that shows great customer service-- especially the owner calling over something that to me wasn't a huge deal. She wanted to make it right and that's amazing! If I wasn't moving on the 2nd I'd probably come in and try the nail salon cause it looked nice and fancy:) This phone call just goes to show you that even the smallest thing means a huge deal to her and that she takes great care of her customers to make them lifelong. I got a full set of acrylics and they were sloppily done and poorly shaped. I even brought a reference picture (see attached photos) and my own color and showed it to the manicurist several times. When I tried to have her fix the shaping she said "the photo you showed me is for more natural nails," even though the nails ended up being as short as the nails in the picture. Manicure $30 Pedicure $45. Total of $75 (+20%tip) =$90 for a less than deluxe product. This was a very basic service with a deluxe package price tag. I don't mind paying significantly for a full service product, but this really was a just a simple nail trim and polish job (with a very brief pumice on the pedicure and having lotion put on my hands -not massaged). There were no extra services like a massage or hot towel offered. The polish seemed old in the bottle also. I will say that both ladies doing the pedicure and manicure were very nice and engaging. They did a very good job with the nails and did quality work with the polish. I was simply surprised at the price tag, considering the service itself was very basic. read more

Taylor did a fabulous job of creating a short cut that makes me feel better about my situation. More important than the cut was her compassion. I feel sad about writing this review. So sad, in fact, that I almost didn't. I don't like to admit that I had a bad experience. I just moved back to Missoula and found out that my beloved stylist of many years is no longer cutting hair. I was well overdue for a cut because I had been hoping to see her. I took a chance with Burton's since it is so highly rated and booked an appointment. It went poorly. I was not treated like family when I arrived, as some reviewers state. In fact, I was barely spoken to. That part didn't bother me too much, but it's not what I expected. I met my stylist and talked to her about some of my struggles. She seemed to have a good plan, so I was feeling okay at this point. We made some small talk, but when I tried to tell her things about my hair or products I had tried it was like she thought I was arguing with her. She told me a lot of good info about the products she was using, though. So I stopped talking and just listened. She washed my hair and she gave it a very, very quick cut, stating she would finish it off dry. She dried my (now quite short) hair with a small round brush. It was poofy and curled under. She trimmed at it for a few more minutes and the front desk let her know the next appointment was here. Wait. That was fast. The appointment was apparently only a 30 minute appointment. I had gotten pretty used to having haircuts that take 60-75 minutes, so I was totally shocked that she was "done". She didn't do the normal "take the mirror and look at the back" thing. She was just done. I knew that I didn't care for the style, but thought the cut might be okay. So, I bought a whole bunch of recommended product and left. When I got home I realized that things were bad. Super bad. The haircut was uneven and ugly. I look not only juvenile, but super frumpy. The first time I style it myself, I see just how terrible it is. I'm gutted. At this point I'm not sure what to do. I was too embarrassed to go back. I caved in and trimmed my hair myself, so at least the uneven chunks are not as noticeable. I'm pretty sad about it. read more

Angel gave my husband a terrific beard trim and cut as a walk in late this evening. It turns out that she is the owner, which makes her more hands on than most I've met. Was having a rough day this week so I decided to treat myself to a haircut. I called Burtons last minute and was scheduled with Mallory. I spontaneously decided to chop all my hair off and Mallory did a wonderful job. She double checked that I was okay with how short I wanted it and I appreciated that, considering my previous experiences where the hairdresser snipped way too much off and didn't care.
