This oark is huge and would be even better, but the entrance in and out is so bad. There's lots of traffic and only one way in and out. It wasn't always like this, but dont let that bring you down. Its a large park good for children. Who are young and older. They also have a lot of soccer games for the youth. The picnic area is also nice. Ismts spacious and I thi k there were two pavilions. The best part are the trees. Most parks in reno dont have such luscious trees. So its nice in a hot day. The parj is well maintained, but beware of the goose droppings. Its everywhere. Its a must visit on a nice summer day or a cool fall. Winter might be fun, but I stay indoors. read more

I was here to do the short loop around the park. I came in the morning on a week day, so other than a few people on the walking path, there really wasn't anyone around. The park has alot of open space for kids to run around and has a pretty nice playground. There is also a Skate Park and parking lot on the opposite side of the park. The eastern side of the path goes along a creek and there were quite a few birds, ducks and squirrels in and around the creek. I did see graffiti on one of the park signs, so that made me wonder how safe it is. In general it's a nice park, but I would have to come back during busier times such as evening or weekends to see how it is. For now though I'm only feeling 3 stars. read more

Wow! This was the closest park that my partner and I could meet up for a midday walk with our baby. We parked and took a stroll with the stroller and discovered all the other little paths that go behind the neighborhood and into the openness. After all my years of running down every street and nook and cranny in Reno, I never really explored this park. Yes, I've run by 1000 times down McCarran and down Mary Loma, but I never ventured into the path and beyond the little stream of water. I love it! This will now be our little midday meet up location. read more

Cute park with lots of space, but such a bummer that the playgrounds themselves aren't shaded. The play structures were hot to the touch when we went, and this was on a day that was far from the hottest. read more

My dog and I love our little walk around this park. We used to walk from my house to the park, around to the backside and over the bridge to the end and back again. It was a little over 3 miles but now my girl is older and doesn't want to do the whole thing anymore so we walk from my house around the park and back home, 1.87 miles. We go in the morning and there are few if any people there. It's really peaceful and the wildlife by the water way are fun to watch. The thing I don't like about it is all the dandelions. There are tons! Their tennis courts need some work too. Lot's of parking and bathrooms at both ends of the park. There are 2 playgrounds, baseball field, a huge open field for soccer and football or whatever, 1/2 basketball court, handball court, RC car track and a skate park. There is also a covered area you can reserve for parties. Go have fun! read more

Good little over 1 mile asphalt paved walk around perimeter of park. It also has a canal filled with birds on the side. Lots of parking. Skate park. Radio controlled course. Tennis court flooring needs to be redone but has beautiful greenery growing along it. Lots of dogs! read more

I love this park, amazing spaces and trails, playground is decent but small, really great for open space but more for adults I would say.

We live close by, so I often head to Mira Loma for a jog (which isn't often enough). I also grew up in this neighborhood, and I remember when this park was first created. It's always been a family park, and it's always been THE SPOT for soccer. The park has seen some rough seasons, but it's flourishing with all the recent snowfall. It's a lush green, the little creek has water, the skate park is always full, and it's clean. I always feel safe and recognize many of the same people on the path. I can smell the lilacs when I run, and my greatest fear is getting chased by the geese(it has happened) or sprayed by the sprinklers. This park has bbq grills, a few sets of bathrooms, covered shade and tables, lots of trees, play grounds, a field, skate park, and tennis court. It doesn't get much better. I am giving it a 4 just because the trail is covered with goose poop all the time, and the tennis courts could use a little maintenance. But dont let that stop you from enjoying It! read more

Mira Loma Park offers wide spaces for little kids to teens to run around and get ride of excess energy. We often come to this park because it's convenient and there is a bunch of stores right next to this parks. So get the kids tired and go shopping, good plan. They have a walking/running trail that loops the whole park area and they have workout areas in different areas of the path. So you can do a pit stop and get in a workout routine in between your running or your walk. One little down fall of this park is that it does have a good size population of geese and other bird life that leaves bird around the park. I do see a lot of little league kids play football and soccer here. They do practice here and have their games here. So this park can get busy durning those times. Which isn't to bad but just something to be aware off. On the far end of the park there is a skate boarding arena and a dirt track for remote controlled cars. Just a different feature but pretty cool. The is in fair to play condition but is in need of some repairs. This is a good play ground for kids as well and all around a good park. Being the closest park to my house, this one gets frequented quite often when we want to take the dog on a walk that's different than the normal one we do. They have recently redone part of the pathway that was notorious for flooding, but is much better now. The walk is just over a mile, if you don't cut through the playground area or before you get to the skate park. The geese have decided to make this park their home as well. There is always a ton of them. And what comes with a ton of geese? A ton of droppings. Trust me, you're going to walk with eyes down and you might look like you're drunk as you dodge all the piles. They have two doggies stations for bags, but I've only ever seen them full once years ago, so please bring (and use) your own bags. Sometimes people will fill these up with grocery bags though, in case you forgot yours. Overall, coming from someone who only goes there to walk the dog, this is just your basic park, nothing super special, but enough for the dog to get excited about! read more

Mira Loma Park is a little rusty around the edges, but has a lot to offer you overall! They have two playgrounds, both of which are a little torn up and I hope to see in better shape in the future. They have a basketball court, several tennis courts, a long walking/running trail, a skate park and even an area for (for lack of better words..) motorized toy cars. Not to mention, there is a ton of grass fields. During soccer season, you can see lots of games being played and in the warmer seasons, many a days you will see a birthday party or some other event being thrown in the park's picnic area. Right now, they are working on putting in new sidewalks and hopefully, a few other improvements will follow. Regardless, this is a rather lovely park. My family and I love to walk the trail and often find ourselves playing tennis here, during the summer. It is pet-friendly, but forewarning there are always lots of geese around. I'm a big fan of this slightly rustic park and I hope to see more people taking advantage of their facilities in the future! read more
