I have been…read morepurchasing my hearing aids from Family Hearing for my entire adult life as I have a congenital hearing loss. The staff are excellent and very proactive for you. Last year my current set of hearing aids, Oticon More, needed new lithium batteries a month or so out of warranty and the staff went to bat for me to get the batteries without cost. The staff follow up with me and today I am going for an annual hearing test with the staff audiologist and check up of my hearing aids. Because Hearing Life is a chain they do have offices in other states, including Florida and your information follows you. When my hearing aids would no longer hold a charge I was able to go to another Hearing Life in Florida, snowbird here, and get them switched out. Very happy with Hearing Life overall.

What a wonderful experience we have had! My mom was treated with respect and kindness, every step of the way, and was expertly fitted with a hearing aid that was just right for her. My mom's life has very much changed as a result of this hearing aid because she is now able to talk so much more and take part in all conversations. Sarah, the audiologist was just amazing, as she tested my mother's hearing, and explained what her deficiencies were. Sarah also explained all of the hearing aid options to my mother and I very clearly and honestly, so we were able to make the perfect choice for my mother. Excellent Experience Husband had bought hearing aids years…read moreago at Ear Care. For 4 months, because of radiation for jaw cancer, he could not hear without people literally shouting at him. Went back to Ear Care and was assured they would do their best to help him using the hearing aids we had gotten from them. They were kind, considerate, understanding, helpful and successful. Dan didn't give up until my husband was able to hear without anyone shouting at him. Now he is happy and hopeful again. I am also very happy since I no longer have to shout or deal with a sore and hoarse throat. The concern, the assurance, the kindness, patience and success were like a miracle for us. That was about 10 years ago. Ernie and his lovely wife Christine have been nothing short of exceptional in terms of delivering service for the products they sell. I have been meeting people who would buy this or the other brand of hearing aids. I tell them that the key to hearing well is not as much the hearing aids you wear but the person behind all the adjustments that need to be made to get an exceptional experience. I tried silicone ones from the drugstore, but wasn't happy with the fit. So when I read that Kingston Audiology was under new management, I made an appointment to get some custom-fitted earplugs. I've had friends warn me about going to an independent audiology shop, since they've had bad experiences with high-pressure sales tactics. But that wasn't what I experienced at Kingston. I made an appointment with the audiologist, and was delighted with the care I got. Not only did Dr. Tilley fit me for the earplugs, she gave me some tips for ear health that my regular doctor has never mentioned. I generally like to get my health care from someone who's up to date on their field, and that appears to be true for ears, too. I'm very happy with my earplugs, and haven't had any more problems with water in my ear since I've been wearing them. I think I'm going to go back and have some custom earplugs for hearing protection made, too. I'm going to work harder to make sure I stave off as much hearing loss as I can, and I'm confident I've found a local partner to help me in that quest.

Then I was seen immediately, by the owner Byron Robertson: Board certified-HIS. After some preliminary questions were asked. He proceeded to do a physical exam of the external ear canal; then into the "box" where bilateral earbuds were used to test the range and decibel levels were checked. Afterward a bone conductivity test was administered. It all went very smoothly and professionally. There's no high pressure sales; to get a hearing aid if you don't need it or feel it's time. This was the only place I ever went to but dealing with the receptionist today was just too much and I canceled my appointment and am going elsewhere. First, I made the appointment a few weeks ago and asked for a specific therapist, who I always had for every visit from evaluation to completion. Upon signing on to my portal today, all of documents mentioned someone else. Mind you, I called and said I only wanted this person, I visited to give the script and insurance and confirmed this person and today not the person. Second, I have 2 insurances, primary and secondary, gave them in that order. Online I only saw I insurance, secondary only which states a co-pay, with Medicare as primary and a secondary I don't have a copay. I called today, the day of the appointment to confirm and the receptionist insisted that my secondary states copay, I told her with Medicare as primary they pay and pass it to secondary. She kept insisting I had to call my insurance and work this out ----- I have had Medicare for numerous years and used it at this office, it's not how this works. It's her job to call, not mine. She kept talking over me and was rude, I canceled my appointment as stated, I'm in pain but not that much to deal with this. Don't go there.
