We originally contacted Miracle Method to fix a poor job done by a competitor to resurface our kitchen counter and bathroom vanity. When the estimator came in, he was really nice and seemed to know what he was talking about. There were 3 concerns that I brought to his attention, as well as the tech when he arrived. 1) There was a seam in the existing laminate that I was afraid would show through, 2) Another section where the existing laminate was lifting and again, I was concerned it would show through, and 3) I was concerned that the surface would not be smooth enough or durable enough to work with dough on the countertop. In all three instances, I was assured that it would not be a problem. They would use a substance to cover the seam and the section that was lifting, It would be sanded flat and unnoticeable (their word) once the resurfacing was complete. As you can see by the two photos, there is now a raised hump at the seam, which was flat before the process and you can still see the laminate lifting on the other photo. In addition, the surface was not as smooth as the samples they had showed me. It was gritty and bumpy. Furthermore, after waiting the required 48 hours before using, we noticed that the gritty bits were coming off in the areas that were being used. So now, although I was assured it would be smooth and durable enough to spread dough, I find it hard to believe that dough would spread properly, I fear it is not safe as particles would end up in the dough. So I called to report the issues. The person I spoke with asked me to send a picture of the bump where the seam was and a manager would get back to me. After 2 days with no response, I emailed again. A manager then responded saying they were going to review it internally that day, then get back to me. A week later, I still did not hear from them. So I called again. This time a manager came on the phone and told me, that it happens sometimes and there is nothing we can do. So, from where I was, it appears that they got paid and don't care. They don't care that they did a poor job. He offered no solution. I would just have to live with it. The thing that really upset me about this is that the 3 exact concerns I had came to be, despite being assured that each one of them would be addressed to my satisfaction. In short, they promised a result they apparently knew they could not deliver. So now I have to find someone else to hire and have these counters done for a third time. We have reached out to the national franchise headquarters to see if we have any recourse. But I am not holding my breath. read more

Miracle Method was professional from the first home visit done reviewing the kitchen tile we had them resurface. The technician, Manny, was polite and completely respected our home by blocking off the entire area that was refinished. We had to contact them to come back to recaulk due to a misunderstanding with the caulk color. Manny came back and corrected the mistake leaving our tile job flawless. We purchased a house this summer, and planned to do a bathroom remodel before moving in. Bathrooms can get pricey so one way we were looking to save some money was by refinishing the existing cast iron tub rather than having to demo and remove it. Unfortunately sometimes you do get what you pay for. The service isn't cheap, $575 + tax, but in comparison to having an old cast iron tub removed it is cheap. Two of my moms coworkers had used this service and both loved it. One had only had it done for a couple of months, but the other had had it in one home and lived there for 4 or 5 years and said it was still in good condition when they left, so they used the same service when they bought their new home and had been happy with that for about 3 years. Despite the bad reviews I had found, two recommendations from people we know made me decide to check it out for myself. Overall I had a really hard time deciding how many stars to give Miracle Method. Overall the customer service I received was good. I found all of the workers I spoke to on the phone and at my house nice, friendly, and professional. When my husband or I called to report problems, we were responded to promptly. The problem is we had to deal with so many workers, as it took 3 times to get it right, and it sometimes took a bit to get another look rescheduled. We got our initial appointment scheduled for mid August. It is a 2 day process, so my husband had to take off 2 days of work to accommodate, not a big deal as we were moving into our home so he was able to plan days off to unpack to coincide with the bathtub refinishing. The first day is the long day, they indicate it could take up to 6 hours for them to strip the tub and then refinish and buff. Our guy was friendly and efficient, it was only maybe 4 hours. Working too quickly? Or do they just tell you longer so you prepare for more time? Not sure. The chemicals stink, but they did leave a high intensity fan and had a hose out the window to try to help with that. The guy came back the next day to buff it, it only took an hour or so, and it still smelled a little but it looked great. You are supposed to not use the tub for 24-72 hours, and as we still had our apartment at the time we didn't use it for 5 days. It looked great, pure white and perfect. We were very happy with our newly refinished tub. However about 2 weeks later I went to clean the tub for the first time and when I was washing the bottom I noticed this almost texture at the bottom, hard to describe, not deep enough to even really feel with my finger, but as we all know dirt will find the slightest spot. I didn't think too much of it, but each time I cleaned the tub it was getting worse, it seemed like there was more texture, again not super deep but it was almost spreading all over the bottom and dirt kept getting in. I was a bit frustrated as this brand new tub shouldn't already have little spots that were hard to clean. So my husband called Miracle Method back and they said they would send someone out. Unfortunately they had a date in early November and then canceled it very last minute, in fact like 4 PM the evening before but luckily my husbands job is flexible and we got them rescheduled for the beginning of December. A new guy came and said what we noticed was called pitting and has been found to happen, especially with cast iron tubs like ours, so it took 2 more days but he redid the bottom area only. This was at no charge to us, however my husband again had to use 2 vacation days, now a bit frustrating as he doesn't get much vacation. We also dealt with the stink again, and didn't use our tub for another 4ish days which was harder this time without our apartment, and this time they did not leave us a fan, but we were just happy it was going to get fixed. Again this time we were initially happy with our tub again, but about 2 weeks after we started using our new tub, we noticed that it was peeling, big pieces of tub almost like skin were coming off. Again we called and someone was able to come out late January and this time they redid the whole thing. So again we dealt with stink, no fan, my husband wasting another 2 days of vacation, but again we didn't have to pay anything other then the vacation, and we were very hopeful at this time that it would be the last. I am happy to report that it's been like 2 months and it seems like the 3rd time might be the charm. Our tub does look great, and cleaning it is no different than cleaning another tub, haven't noticed any peeling or pitting at this point. Despite being happy that it did work out in the end though, I'd have a hard time really recommending this service. My husband had to take off 4 extra days of work besides the original 2, and there were quiet a few inconveniences with having to keep refinishing our tub. read more

This company calls me multiple times a day for no reason, for the past few months. It is very irritating. I do not live in Rochester. I do not own a home. I have never once requested information from them. This activity is highly spammy and irritating and if that's what they do to people who haven't signed up to hear from them I can't imagine what they do to people who have asked for information. read more

Do not use this company. We had a slip resistant surface installed in our bathtub. After 1 month and $275 spent it peeled off on one side due to poor installation. Also, it looks terrible because it makes the rest of the tub bottom look dirty. Feels uncomfortable also. If the slip resistant surface is removed and reinstalled, the tub bottom is sanded so we either have to have the same thing reinstalled properly or refinish the entire tub. We had our bathtub refinished by Miracle Method (Rochester) in October, 2017. Since then, we have had the installer out 3 additional times. First, they forgot we paid for corner shelving, they needed to install that. Second, the paint was peeling at the drain, they said we had a leak (WE DO NOT), Third because 6 weeks after that it was peeling again and they realized they didn't do the proper glazing initially. Now, it's July, and we have peeling AGAIN. We have called for 2 weeks, and no return call, even though work is guaranteed for a year. When continuously calling back to complain we're not getting a call back, we are told "We are busy with commercial clients". We currently have a peeling tub, with no call back, no sign of resolution and their focus is not on home business. DO NOT USE! read more

POOR customer service and they do nothing but LIE! They say a couple to three days to get the job done, how about over a month. The guy doing the work is great. Mark is the one that sets up the jobs. He doesn't return phone calls and is nothing but a liar and is very condescending. He sucks at his job and puts his mistakes on the customer to try and cover his own ass. I can see why they barely have 1-1/2 stars. If I could give them not even one star, I would. They don't deserve even 1! I would definitely never use this place again for anything! read more

We had our tub and kitchen counter refinished by Miracle Method. Both looked great when finished, and I was very pleased. It is a bit of a production - we got a mouse in our house because he had to leave the back door open - but it looked great and we got rid of the unwelcome visitor. Then we noticed that the bathtub surface was not smooth and was collecting dirt, so they came back to fix it for free (re-sanded it). We also referred two other households to them. After a year or so our kitchen counter started cracking (slightly) between the flat surface and the backsplash, as we have a 90 degree angle there and not a curve. It is not very noticeable. It also happened behind the faucet, but they had warned us that since it was so tight back there the water pooling might cause that in the future. Our son's tub at his house did not have as great an installer as ours. His is cracking and chipping around the drain because the installer (or should I say "applier") was not as skilled as ours in masking off the drain cover before spraying. Our son and his wife had no luck with getting a permanent repair. I think younger people don't get as good service in general because they get walked over (not just in this case, but with all contractors). The most recent situation is that I melted a spot on our kitchen counter. The instructions say not to place a hot pot on the surface, and I never have. However, I set a cup of hot chicken broth on it, and it melted a round disc about 3 inches in diameter. I would never have done that except that cups of coffee and tea are fine; the warnings only say "not hot pots". I guess it must have been the fat in the broth that got hotter than regular water. Anyhow, they wanted $350 to repair that one circle, so just be aware that they can't just repair a small area; they need to do the entire surface around that spot again - so in our case, the entire length of the wall. I couldn't afford that, so instead I purchased a large breadboard (20 " X 14") for $10 on Wayfair.com, and put some self-stick clear rubber feet on it. I'd prefer my plain counter, but this does the job. My takeaway from our experiences is that the quality of the job really depends on the experience of the installer. The owner comes out to sell the job, but you can never be sure how long the person applying your material has been working for him. Would I do it again? Yes; but I would be more careful in how I treated it, and I'd be sure to reiterate to anyone staying with us that it's more fragile than some countertops. read more
