Very nice outdoor type restaurant and bar in the Rochina neighborhood. I was told it was a favela neighboorhood, but i dont know.
Once you enter the Rochina neighboorhood, there is a big mural, you drive up the narrow hill. The restaurant sits way up top of the hill, overlookong lush, green trees. Dtunning view.
They are known for their steaks. We ordered a beef steak that came with a side of black beans (feijão), white rice, a few pieces of potatoes. I asked for a huge plate of as many steamed vegetables they could think of. The waiter seemed sort of confused. The chef came out to ask what I wanted. I explained i wanted some vegetables with the meal, like a plate full. Veggies are so challenging to get in restaurants in Brazil. I really do not quite understand why. Theyook at you like you're an alien or something!!! Lol
Anyway, we had nice, ice cold beers. Great pagode / samba playing. Not crowded. Only a small group of three people a few times away. And another large group in a completely different area.
Everyone wore masks. Very polite, welcoming. I can tell this is a great bar and place to hang out in the evenings too.
My friends enjoyed the steak. They ate some, asked them to put it back on the grill for more well done. They brought it back out and we enjoyed ourselves. The chef also came out to see how we liked everything and walked us out. I took a picture with him too.
This place has personality. They make you feel at home!! read more
