It's my daughter's second year at MIDC and she loves it! She took ballet classes last year and is doing acro classes this year. She took hip hop classes over the summer. She wanted to add another dance class this year but her schedule is too busy. She has liked all the classes; she just changes her preferences and it's great there are the different class options for her to choose from. MIDC has camps and competition team, too! My daughter has done a few camps and really enjoyed going. I already signed her up for another one. If I ask her if she wants to go to a camp, she doesn't hesitate and immediately says yes. I cannot say enough about Mirror Image Dance Company! My son danced with MIDC for a few years when he was younger and I loved how welcoming, organized, and professional the studio is. Previously he had tried a few other dance classes elsewhere, but it was never the right fit. But he found his home at MIDC and is back as an 11 year old in the boys hip hop group. A few years back they added incredible adult dance and fitness classes which I could not more highly recommend. Hip hop with Jalen is the BEST, he is incredibly positive, motivating, the class is fun and engaging and as with all their classes, everyone is encouraging. Every staff member and instructor I have interacted either is positive and creates a welcoming and accessible environment for both beginners and advanced dancers. For many years, Mirror Image was the home away from home for my daughters. They both spent hours dancing, working, and hanging with their friends at the original home of MI when they were part of the dance team. Most of what I did related to MI involved dropping off, picking up, and various "dance mom" duties. Having two left feet, I always left the dancing to my daughters! But fast forward to today and I am now a freebird with both daughters in college. I made a list of the 55 things I want to do before I turn 55 (2.5 years or so away) and one of them was to take some dance classes. Now while MI is still at a similar address - the studio is totally transformed. There is room after room of dance floors, mirrors, dancer cubie holes, and a whole new section of adult dance and fitness opportunities. So far, I have taken cardio fitness, groove pointe, and strength and sculpt - all of which have moved me in new and fun ways! Mostly I keep coming because I love the music and fun company - and it is good to try new things. And then I won a month of free classes and now I am getting some moves! Next up, hip hop! read more

Our daughter joined MIDC in 2020 as a 3rd grader. After one year on the recreational team, she quickly realized this was the sport for her and committed to the competition team. My kinder loves going to dance lessons at MIDC. Not sure if he is actually learning any moves, but he keeps wanting to come back, which is great. I had a concern that the music was played too loudly during lessons and they took my concern seriously once I brought it up and kept the volume lower. I really appreciate being heard. My daughter just signed up for the mini ballet class on Mondays just a few months ago which she has been absolutely loving. The staff is incredibly sweet and keep the class attention up with all kinds of fun! This past weekend my daughter participated in the spring showcase and it was phenomenal to watch. All the students at various ages are incredibly talented and even my daughter who is 4 years old did amazing along with her peers, I know this was all because of the staff and their efforts. My little one has been doing recreational dancing at MIDC for a little over a year and also took part in their last annual showcase. I can honestly say that I've seen her growth as a dancer soar! It has also helped boost her confidence which is a plus. My daughter has grown to love dance so much more and her passion truly transpires when she practices. She was recognized by one of her teachers and was recommended to join the competition team. Although we chose not to do the competition team this time around, my daughter felt so honored and proud to find out that her skillset was highlighted which I have noticed MIDC will do often by choosing a "dancer of the month". I remember feeling a little skeptical at first when I signed up my daughter because without prior experience, I worried that the outcome would be like what is shown on television for other dance studios. On the contrary, MIDC has shown to be very strength-based and it is noticeable that they prioritize inclusivity. Also worth noting that the showcase costume was absolutely ADORABLE! Another thing I appreciate is that they have a wide range of different class times/days so it makes it easy to fit into our weekly routine. The owners are very communicative via email and have shown to be understanding/accommodating when any concerns are raised. MIDC has truly exceeded my expectations so much so that it drove me to decide to take some of their adult classes and have noticed my own improvement in a matter of 2 months! haha I love that they are expanding and adding more diversity to the genres and class types. It would be nice to see if the expansion will influence the diversity amongst the number of dancers/teachers deciding to join by drawing in more people of color, multi-lingual individuals, and families from various socioeconomic backgrounds/statuses as representation would be key.
