Received email in the first week of April for final 50% as due for delivery within 4 weeks. I chased them at end of April for delivery date. Was told should be by end of May. Chased and chased throughout May, to be told was going to be June, due to delays. Sales staff aren't able to tell me what the delays are though. Then was told that would be July. When I asked to cancel my order as they have totally failed to deliver, was told that there was a 30% restocking fee- £1,436 for absolutely nothing. When I asked for the complaints procedure, I was told they don't have one, as they have never had a complaint. I asked for the directors contact details, which they wouldn't give, he rang off a withheld number, and didn't call me back when requested. they say that they are a small company, but actually have 20 showrooms. I have no faith at all in their 15 year frame guarantee or the stain cover- they can't even get the sofa made! If you are looking for good quality service STAY WELL CLEAR OF SOFAS AND STUFF.

I ended up ordering an armchair I didn't even know I wanted as it was so comfortable. We were really impressed with the value too. We waited just over six weeks for delivery, as advised. The delivery people were polite and efficient, even when they had to remove the doorframe to get our new armchair in. We absolutely adore our new furniture. Thanks Sofas and Stuff!

Fiona was introduced to me by a friend and I would love to pass on the favour to you!…read more Old Ginger has a magnificent showroom, full of beautiful reclaimed-teakwood furniture, each piece designed for modern living. You can get a feel at oldginger.co.uk. I would suggest that there's something for everyone here with a range of stain colours from dark to light according to your taste. The really cool point of difference here is Fiona herself, who will design from scratch or modify pieces especially for your living space. The bed I bought from her was designed to fit elegantly under a windowsill whislt retaining the MacIntosh tall headboard, while the contemporary side tables incorporate hidden drawers and echo the headboard design. Her fitters even delivered, carried in and assembled everthing with no fuss. This is Conran quality, with personal service at Habitat prices! If you're considering buying furniture in the near future, even if you live way out in the sticks like me, make a note to visit Old Ginger. Well worth the trip!

Fiona (the owner) also offers a bespoke service which is ideal for those tricky spaces, whilst remaining incredibly affordable (despite the connotations brought to mind by bespoke)! Also recently discovered Old Ginger stock the entire Barlow Tyrie range of garden furniture and at a discount! The service is efficient, friendly and whatever is unknown is quickly found out! Brilliant. The fact that I can speak / email the Old Ginger team and know I'll be helped is all the more reason to support small businesses like this one. I'm definitely going to continue adding to my Old Ginger furniture collection. Like Daavid said, Old Ginger is well worth the trip!

Free and interesting. The Serpentine Galleries are two small…read moregalleries located in Hyde Park, which are much closer together than I anticipated. They are easily both visited in the same stop in the park. On my visit, there was a contemporary landscape exhibit in one gallery, which unfortunately for me was also currently being visited by a large group of elementary aged school children (there was a lot of shouting, by the students and the teachers/minders trying to keep them in line). That encouraged me to...not linger long, though I liked the style of the art on display. In the other gallery was a large-scale digital work by David Hockney, along with paintings on display in the inner rooms. I happened to visit early in the day of the day he actually passed away. Just an interesting coincidence, and I assume it likely that the gallery may have been much busier in subsequent days following the news. Both galleries have gift shops, and one has a cafe and small garden. Certainly worth a stop in if you are in the park, and especially in the summer if you need a dose of climate control for a few minutes.

I can't quite say that I "got" it. Several four-foot wide rolls of what looks like cardboard packing materials unrolled and stood on end to make a maze, with a few interesting sculptures including a standing Buddha that is staring into a mirror. Huh?
