Good service and good sandwiches. I had the Completa and it was way too large for me to finish on my own ( so my husband finished the rest) The backyard area was cute. The staff was very accommodating despite our not so good Spanish read more

We ordered La Gorda, which comes with a sausage, and a hamburger. The hamburger came without any toppings, but honestly, it didn't need a single thing, it was phenomenal on its own, incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. The rest of the Gorda was packed with kraut, mayo, and salsa, all super flavorful and well-balanced. I do wish I had added the guacamole, but even without it, the sandwich was amazing. The cooks are a group of ladies who are warm, kind, and welcoming, giving the place a genuinely old-school charm. This is an authentic spot where you can feel the pride and experience behind every dish. Best of all? The value is unbeatable. Our two orders came to just $14 including tip. Where else are you going to find that kind of quality and flavor for the price? If you're in Santiago and want a true local favorite, Fuentes Alemana is an absolute must. Come hungry and enjoy a taste of authentic Chilean sandwich craftsmanship!

It was a rainy day and nothing sounded better than a nice hot cup of tea and a rich pastry. This cafe has an awesome selection of different pastries including one of Chiles specialties, Torta de Manjar. Aka a cake layered with dulce de leche, nuts and thin puff pastry bits. A real sweet bite, but perfect for those cold winter afternoons. I've also tried their chocolate ganache cake with raspberry sauce and really enjoyed the richness of it without it being too overwhelming. One of my fondest experiences from Rendebú was the variety of loose leaf tea they offered. When you sit down, servers bring you a tray full of different types of loose leaf teas in little jars for you to smell and decide between. I got the looseleaf Bombay Chai with steamed soy milk and reused the tea leaves a few times after, and to my surprise they held their flavor, even after the 3rd refill! Of course, the cafe wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable if it weren't for the adorable decor. A mix of 1950s memorabilia and paisley walls paper make it a charming and cozy setting to enjoy your afternoon tea! During my stay in Santiago I returned once more to Cafe Rendebú, and if I ever revisit the amazing country of Chile I will surely be back! -Parisa
