Snap Fitness is a gym that recently opened in the new shopping complex by New World in Mt Roskill…read more Being a new gym, it was still in the process of being able to offer a full range of equipment and services. But I popped in anyway just to check it out and spoke to a young trainer that works there. Apparently Snap Fitness is currently working on getting classes up and running, as well as perfecting the layout of their gym. At $14 a week, it's a reasonably priced gym, though all this being said I admit I have no huge desire to change to Snap Fitness. The gym itself is relatively small and currently only offers a few of each cardio machine (treadmill, cross-trainer and cycle machine), and all the equipment felt quite squished together and unappealing. But maybe that's just me. On the plus side there is no other gym in this area, so Snap Fitness was needed. It's an un-intimidating place that will cater well to the local community. Bonus: This gym is open to members 24 hours a day!

This gym is mainly targetted for general fitness goers or people who don't take fitness that…read moreseriously. From the staff who works there self quoted: 'this is a gym is mainly for general fitness'. This gym has most of all the basic gym equipment needs but if you actually want to train for results avoid ths gym as much as possible. 1. This gym does not tolerate grunters. In my opinion, generally people who get annoyed of grunters are the same lazy people who actually don't workout hard enough and hate on those who actually do out of jeolousy and moan to the management how the grunters are disrupting their silent reading of game of thrones while having an epic 5km/hr walk on the treadmill. Go to the library if you want to workout in silence with your stupid book. 2. Lack of heavy plates. If you want to deadlift and squat heavy, try another gym. They don't have enough heavy plates for one to progress effectively with their lifts. Also they don't like you let the weights to drop on their precious floor from heavy deadlifting. You dropped the weight after a heavy PR set?!, the snap fitness police on their high horse will be coming at you with sirens on giving you a good lecturer how you shouldn't need to lift so much weight and to let the weight down in a controlled manner lol. In conclusion. I would not call this place a gym as that would be misleading. It is a general fitness centre just one step up from the mcdonalds kids playground. It would be a big SNAP in the face to the true fitness community by reconising this place as a gym, it is not a real gym. If you are a soccer mum or someone who wants to workout at a gym instead of at your local school kids monkey bar playground then this gym is for you. Not recommended for serious gym goers bodybuilders or powerlifters who actually want to make good gains and see good progressive results! Don't believe me? Go join this 24hr adult play house for a month and come back put up an honest review like I have.
