Four Chinese lion statues guarding the entrance.

Come to appreciate the art: everyone should stop by at least once to see the beautiful sculptures and astounding architecture in this lovely plaza. I made it my mission to take pictures of the many sculptures that were scattered throughout the place. The attention to detail and the sheer artistry was just amazing, especially since this was just a mall and there's no admission fee. To make the most of your trip make sure to check out their website and read the background info on each of the significant architectural features in the centre, you will be able to appreciate it even more. I would recommend going early to beat the crowds and the heat plus the high noon sun makes it hard to take good pictures. Oh and when you're done you can get some grocery shopping done at Al Premium. Thanks to Lambert P. and Jennifer K. for recommending this place and also for all the useful info with great pics.

Billed as one of North America's most remarkable architectural destinations, you get a fascinating look at the history my parent's motherland, ancient China. Many replicas adorn this centre within a vibrant city skyline. See the Main Entrance Gateway built of timber and without a single nail, to the Soo Chow Garden, from the Corner Tower to the Fortress at the Great Wall. Besides the stone sculptures, my favorite here is the Nine Dragon Wall. It is said that only the Emperor may have nine dragons on their garden wall but we have the only one located outside of Asia! Discover the rich Chinese heritage by visiting restaurants, shops and stores located on this ten acre historical site.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Total tourist trap. Horrible parking/driving situations. Overpriced retailers. I still love this place very much. No matter what happens, the Mississauga Chinese Centre will always retain that visual "cool" factor. You can't drive by that massive wall and not want to go in. A friend of mine saw this place and immediately did a U-turn to go in and visit some of the shops. While the quality and consistency of the businesses is certainly debatable, the design of the centre itself has always remained a jewel in the city. It harkens back to another time in Mississauga's history - remember, when this place opened in 1987, there were very few (if any) cultural landmarks in the city. It may not have aged the best, but it was still something that was ahead of its time. There are a lot of weird and wacky things you can find (some imported from China) if you're willing to root, although it is true that there is some markup because the locals know that this place is a prime destination for travelers and bus groups. Lots of businesses have come and gone over the years. Even recently, I was a bit surprised to see an L.A. Boil location pop up here (I don't think that's Chinese?). Yet, there are still some stalwarts that remain, like the godly Tung Hing Bakery (which I'll cover in a separate review) and most of the vendors in the food court. It always makes for an interesting experience whenever I visit. Despite its age and a few problems associated with it, I still enjoy visiting the Chinese Centre. A true landmark in Mississauga. Really, if they ever freshened the decor up a little, this would easily be a five-star centre. Nevertheless, it's well worth a visit if you're in the city.

This place has had so many different businesses in the many years it has been here. From aquariums, restaurants, Al Premium grocery, electronics, house wares, boots, etc. There's a little bit of everything here along with a nice parkette in the middle of the parking lot. Parking on weekends here can be hard to find. The gate entrance being the main entrance is a bit of a bottleneck in that if you're turning left or waiting for others to turn remember that Dundas can be a very busy street. With no street lights here the entrance/exit can be packed. There is additional side parking on the east side and the rear of the lot too. There are quick bites to be had here like Tung Hing or a couple Bahn Mi places at the south side of the mall. The pseudo food court has a BBQ place at the very back while there's also a couple sit down restaurants at the very back and corner. Nice decor for such a small little cul-de-sac type mall. Yes, the address is 888 Dundas Street W as luck would have it.

    Newly renovated food court.

This is the unofficial Chinatown of Mississauga with pretty much all the businesses catering to the asian community. The entrance of the complex has a beautiful entrance structure that looks like it is straight from China. The main parking lot gets pretty crowded at times but there is plenty of extra parking in the rear of the complex. There is a newly renovated supermarket and food court here and my go to dim sum restaurant Blue Lagoon which I have reviewed separately. What I like is in the summer, one can take nice pictures in the small pond area they have in the middle with the various statues they have around.

Didn't get to eat anything there but the ambience was nice. Felt like a different country. The structures were beautiful.

I frankly didn't know that the Asian mall by my workplace is called Dixie Park Centre. I only know…read moreit as the Asian food court that offers yummy cheap eats. My manager introduced me to this place. Our team drops by now and again to enjoy good meals at affordable prices. The food stall that I frequent the most is Arigato Box. When you are staring at all the food stalls, Arigato Box is the one on the right. This stall has a huge menu that's on a board. It's got pictures and prices. I tend to get the bento box because it has a bit of everything that I love and there is more than one type of bento box. I love yeung chow fried rice. Both Honey Pepper and Dynasty BBQ make this dish exceptionally well. They both don't skip on huge shrimp and veggies. It's delicious. Sea Star has Hong Kong-style items. I remember getting a seafood dish with two sauces with my manager. We loved the tomato sauce, but the white sauce had no flavour at all. We still loved the comforting food. There used to be a Vietnamese food stall called Pho Tai Loi. I loved the pho and vermicelli dishes. I was sad when it closed for good. I believe that a Filipino stall has taken over. I haven't tried it. I will admit that I rarely shop at other stores in this mall. It does have a second floor. The only reason why I was up there was because I needed to use the washroom. Washrooms are upstairs. The food court is downstairs. There is a snack shop called MyDelish on the first floor that has decent Filipino baked goods and more. I ended up getting pork rinds that had palm vinegar. They were fabulous. I remember getting bubble tea at Phoenix Bubble Tea eons ago, which is roughly across from the food court. I don't recall if I loved or hated it, so I need to get another one to sort that out. There was a clothing store next door from which my manager bought a purple hoodie. He is more of a mall shopper than I am. He was extremely happy with his purchase. I do know that there's Gino's Pizza. It's like the beacon of light at this mall. It has always been there since I found out about this mall. I like it here. It's a good place to stop by when you're on a budget, but want good food. I should visit more businesses in this mall when I'm back. (103)

I would say its relatively fairly priced. They also have other shops as well that sell clothing and cool goodies which is cool. I love strolling around while waiting for my food as there's always something I could look at. I would say though that the place is sometimes messy and the food court does get crowded sometimes. Service is also pretty quick.

I can't believe that I have never reviewed Heartland Town Centre. I've been visiting for years…read more Weird! Heartland Town Centre is your Mississauga mecca for shopping at box stores. Because it covers such a vast area, it's best to figure out which stores you'd like to visit and drive over to them. The stores range from outlets to regular retail. You also have eateries and professional services mixed in for good measure. My go-to stores tend to be Winners, Kitchen Stuff Plus, Gap Outlet, and Krispy Kreme. The first two are next door from each other, so it's a two-for-one shopping extravaganza for me. I have found some nice merchandise at good prices at both stores. I love this Gap Outlet, as I have scored some nice discounts on jackets and clothing. I don't consume donuts often, but I love Krispy Kreme to the point where I've been known to do a donut run before heading back to the office. It takes me fifteen minutes to get here from my workplace. It's deadly and cool. Besides the stores that I have just mentioned, here's a running list of stores at Heartland that I have visited so far: - Bath & Body Works - Best Buy - Loblaws - Marshalls - Old Navy - Roots - Seafood City Supermarket Here are eateries that I have stuffed my face at: - Grill City - Heart Sushi - Jollibee - Tandoori Flame There are so many stores and eateries. I haven't visited them all yet. It'll take a while! Here are some stores and eateries that I'd like to visit: - Beanwise - Bergham - California Sandwiches - Copper Branch - Crocs - Mr Puffs - The Chopped Leaf I've never had any issues parking. I've dropped by on countless Saturdays and Sundays. It can get crazy, but I always find parking. It's cool shopping here. I feel the need to get some retail therapy now! (212)
