Tried to find a campsite and was yelled at by the park ranger Mindy. She was abrupt and very rude.

He had an amazing knowledge of the caves and their history. We also enjoyed the gift shop and the restaurant after. We were starving from our cave exploration so the Bison burger hit just right!! Yum! We both expressed that we think our kids would also love the caves!! This is a gorgeous hour drive from Bozeman that I also thoroughly enjoyed.

I was absolutely blown away with this magnificent experience! We hiked about a mile up to the cavern entrance. It was a steady incline and almost all in the sun, so come prepared for that. Sunscreen and a water bottle would be wise. By the time you get to the top, you're pretty toasty warm-and then you can cool off in the cold, dark cave. The cave/cavern (what's the difference?) is truly remarkable. Nature can be awe inspiring and what you see inside this mountain is a perfect example of nature's masterpiece. Be respectful and don't touch anything you're not supposed to touch. This isn't a horribly physical excursion, although there's a good amount of stairs, narrow spaces and even one area where you slide down on your bum. People who have any mobility limitations might struggle with this one-although I did overhear that there's an alternate tour for folks who might need accommodations, so ask about that. This was likely my favorite part of the road trip-even more memorable than Yellowstone! (Sssshhhh, don't get me in trouble for saying that.)

Exercise your imagination. This state park, a historical site, allows it. Demands it, in fact…read more Near cliffs carved by the Madison River, this site was used by early Native Americans who used to drive the buffalo off the cliff. Waiting at the base of the cliff were the women and children ready to skin, clean, and prepare the buffalo meat and begin preparing the hides for clothing and blankets. It's difficult to imagine in today's era. It looks like any other tall hill and cliff until you read about its history. The park has a nice walking path amongst the remains of what has been identified as a Native American village and there are plenty of bones and other artifacts buried beneath the grasses. You aren't allowed to remove what you find, though. The unnerving part of the hike that follows the path of the runners and the buffalo herds is not the history, but the snakes. There are huge signs advising to be on the lookout for rattlesnakes. So much for the imagination needed to see, in your mind's eye, the thundering herds of buffalo when you have to keep one eye grounded in the reality of the here and now. It's a primitive park, not well traveled, but that makes it easier to picture the past. Just be mindful of the snakes. There's a minimal entry fee of a few dollars paid on the honor system.

I'm leaving this review because our experience at this upscale all inclusive resort was wildly inconsistent. The property is beautiful and the staff is kind, but the level of miscommunication and operational confusion was unlike anything I've experienced at this price point. A few of the major issues: * Serious health risk: The boxed lunches on our first days were unsafe for my diabetic brother and put him at risk of diabetic shock. These were the only meals available due to our scheduled activities. * Two different planners, both incorrect: * A "featured" restaurant they offered was actually closed. * We were booked for an activity that doesn't start for another two weeks. * The sky lift was presented as available but wasn't open. * Hot air balloon miscommunication: * The time we were given was wrong. * The balloon company had no record of our reservation. * We would have missed it entirely if I hadn't reconfirmed repeatedly. * Itinerary changes without notice: * Our schedule was altered multiple times without anyone informing us. * Another guest in the lobby was having the exact same issues. There were many more problems beyond these. They did tell us an employee had sabotaged their system, but it would be impossible for that one person to have caused everything we experienced. Bottom line: We had a good time, and the place itself is beautiful. But when you compare the price to the actual experience, I could not justify the stay.
