The salesman yes I called him a salesman not a technician they are like a used car salesman pushy and aggressive. They try to sell you something that's not even necessary and They will lie and say the electrical panel is in very bad shape because it's started to get discolored, that's a joke some metals do change color due to the heat and location of the panel, I played stupid with them the whole sales pitch but I just didn't want to tell them the panel was replaced 6 years ago. But what topped it off was they came to give an estimate and left the electrical receptacle outside the wall with wires exposed in the bathroom. If my child would have touched it it would have been a serious problem and they left the main breaker panel cover off also. I have cameras inside and outside our house and it was a joke how they try to pressure you into having them do the work and for you to sign the estimate so they can get you scheduled. I was not informed of this and had agreed to a specific time. I do not do business with people who waste my time. Professionalism is vital and Mr. Sparky certainly did not demonstrate it. read more

I would give zero stars. They charge 3 times more than other electricians. They wanted $5400.00 to replace the outlets and switches in my house. They also charged almost $200 to replace one breaker that took about 3 minutes, after I was told it would be free because they had replaced the entire panel a few years ago at twice the price of others. read more

Scheduled an appointment on 8/13/25 for 8/15. received a phone call on 8/15 that the tech was stuck at an appointment. I asked to cancel and someone decided this appointment was happening wether I wanted it to or not. so on 8/21/25, much to my surpris, here comes MR sparky. The text says that they are on their way. I called up to find out why they were coming and the nasty and rude lady on the phone told me that I never canceled. so long story short, done with this one. I recently had the pleasure of hiring Joseph Smith for some electrical work, and I couldn't be happier with his service. He was incredibly thorough, explained everything, and left the place spotless, taking care of every bit of dust. I highly recommend him. If I could rate him alone, he is worth 5 stars and more. Alas, I am rating the business he works for, Mr. Sparky. First, their prices are outrageous: 4 hours of work plus the hardware (3 receptacles and the needed wiring) for $875 (*$775 after haggling). Second, those prices include a $75 discount: $50 for leaving a review on Yelp and another $25 for leaving a review on Google. I think this practice is wrong and the FTC should ban this practice, but with the current admin, that's not going to happen. I'm pretty sure, however, it is a violation of Yelp and Google Terms of Service. read more

I have used Mr. Sparky for several projects from as simple as replacing smoke detectors to some projects that were more complicated, for example, finding a short in the electrical wiring that caused a circuit breaker to keep on tripping. The most recent project was to convert two fluorescent fixtures in my garage to LED bulbs. Jamal was prompt and knowledgeable and gave me suggestions on how to best approach the conversion. I paid $475 and all they did was change my light bulb. I have a light fixture that isn't working. I wasn't able to be at the appointment, but my tenant was. They claim they would come back to fix the problem and they never came back -- it's been two months. They take advantage of the fact that they have different locations, so you don't whom you're dealing with. However, when you call, they say it is Mr. Sparky. read more

The Good: Customer service is very nice The Bad: Poor communication, inability or unwillingness to diagnose issues, no customer management or lack of leadership, lack of pride in work or understanding of their duties. Where to start? Work was scheduled for three days, got a notification on the fourth day, after work was 'completed', that they were sending another team out. There was no communication with me that more work needed to be done and I had left town when they were already on their way. This was the first sign that their communication was lacking. Had a Mister Sparky employee show up weeks after my work was 'done' asking if my final inspection had been performed. This was a task Mr Sparky had said they would schedule, but their own worker did not seem to be aware of the current status. I told this employee that it had not happened, they taped up the permits to my wall, then nothing happened. I had to call repeatedly to get them to schedule the appointment. The work did not pass inspection. I called to have them come back out to correct their work. They failed to make their initial two appointments and when they did send someone, he was unaware of what needed to be done and lacked the tools needed to do the corrections and left. They rescheduled again, showed up, then brought out another three trucks to correct the work well past sundown. When I asked what they were correcting, they hemmed and hawed trying to sell me that this was the city being a problem, when it seemed pretty blatantly that they had screwed up and were rapidly trying to cover. Meeting city code is their job. They were unable to complete the corrections on that day and said they'd be back later in the week with the parts. I again had to call after waiting ten days to schedule yet another appointment for them to fix their work. This is now three months after my initial install. Two more weeks after waiting for parts to arrive, during which time I had to repeatedly call them to get updates on what was happening with the delay without any input from them, they spent two more full days replacing outlets and breakers and rewiring my house. Between the latest two days, they left half of the outlets in my house dead without even realizing it because they had screwed up something between the GFCI outlet and the breaker so they would never not be tripping. After they 'corrected' this, a section of my house continues to trip to this day. Once everything was "done," the inspection failed again. Their work failed inspection a total of five times. I was present with the inspector when they contacted Mister Sparky about the failures, but they never reached out. I had to call them back to get them to correct their work and reschedule the inspection every time. The last three failures were due to labelling which the city inspector was extremely clear about, but Mister Sparky still failed to do properly. I asked that they have an employee present for all inspections and they only did it for two of the five. The original reason I called them out was to address a hot outlet and to install a closet light switch.They upsold me on reworking my panel and replacing my outlets, which I needed to do long term, so I agreed. That outlet is still miswired, I still have no switch in my closet, I now have a different switch that trips a breaker whenever used, and they failed to replace several outlets in the kitchen I reminded them of multiple times. All this at what I have since discovered is an insanely marked up price. This was originally a three day appointment that stretched to over six months for a job poorly done. So if that's the kind of experience you want, have fun. read more

Ironic that their ad promises "free repair" if they're late- which I'd say 2 days late would qualify. All I wanted was for an EV charger install quote and what I got was an EV charger quote plus a 8k+ quote for things that as I understood would cause my house to burn down if I did not consider them. Called Mr. Sparky today, Wednesday, December 16th to help with some wiring in our home. We were told someone would be able to come out same day for a free estimate. Someone did come out quickly, his name was Joseph. After assessing our home, Joseph told us that he couldn't fix our wiring because our breaker panel was "burned" and needed to be fixed immediately or "bad things can happen". He also told us we needed surge protection because come 2021 that all houses will need it legally and continued with his sales rant. He then proceeded to tell us that everything would cost $3,500 - $4,000 to replace!? Lol he was funny. We politely declined. He then told us that we could call someone else but it wasn't safe and our breaker panel could catch on fire. After all of this, Joseph said his "free estimate" was originally $298 but he would take $98. We mentioned the free estimate. He then said he has a coupon to bring it down to $38. We again mentioned the free estimate. He decided he wasn't getting anywhere with us and left. We called someone else same day and they told us our break panel was 100% fine and fixed the wiring that we originally wanted for $125. Moral of the story, Mister Sparky is a typical business that lies to people and over charges for problems that are not even there. read more

just a heads up on an electrician that was at our house yesterday.. he was to give me an estimate on installing a couple of surge protectors. I got the estimate and nearly had a heart attack!! $10,000!!! in the estimate, he claims that my circuit breakers in my main box are expiring and should be replaced! I was having several lights flickering inside our home so we contacted Mr. Sparky since they came recommended. Joseph came out and was very professional and appeared very knowledgeable. We were informed by Joseph that both our panels needed to be replaced and recommended that every outlet and light switch inside the home be replaced. The quote was over $15,000.00. I contacted another electrician for a second opinion, and he advised the panels were fine. The second opinion electrician found a bad light switch that was causing the entire problem. Once the $15.00 switch was replaced the lights stopped flickering and we have had no more issues. read more

After trying to upsell me using scare tactics on thousands of dollars of work I didn't need, the electrician put on a big show of calling his manager to "see what he could do" about the price. I spoke to the rep who arrived on or about 9 pm and expressed my problem with the process and how emergency calls can't get a guaranteed time frame instead it was referenced as a if you can fit it in and are not booked up. I understand time is money and you have to keep techs gainfully employed but your process should allow for emergencies calls. The reps who finally show up are professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Your call center personal are also professional and great listeners. The problem is the calls per tech, availability, and managing the customers expectations through to the end. That is where as far as I'm concerned you fell short. Your company was selected because of your reviews and I understand that sometimes things happen. So I placed this review to inform people that it happened and if it was a one time thing it will not mean anything. However if it's not a one time thing and it's not fixed this may help others. read more

I can not believe what I just experienced. We called Mr. Sparky and asked them how much it would cost to install a ceiling fan on a 9 foot ceiling on our patio. We paid $365. for the fan. Mr. Sparky told us they can't quote a price over the phone and that the technician would give us the price when he's here. The soonest appointment was three days away. The technician arrived and quoted us $565.00 to simply swap out the old ceiling fan with a new. We thought he was kidding. BUT HE WASN'T !!! We bought the fan at Dan's fan's in Delray Beach where they said it would cost $100. bucks to have it installed. We were even prepared to spend $200. to Mr. Sparky to install it. But $565 ????? What a total RIP OFF!!! They need to change their name to Mr. Pricey ! I'm leaving one star because they don't have the zero star option. read more

Yeah, they're a bit more expensive than some others but they know what they're doing and guarantee their work so if anything goes wrong it gets fixed for free, unlike some of the work I had done by handyman type companies. read more

I called to get my house service upgraded from 150 to 200 amps. They sent out a guy who hemmed and hawed over how unsafe my house is and quote me almost $14,000 to replace the outside main box, inside power distribution panel and run a new 200 amp service feeder. Sales pitch was more Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD) than substance. Told me the service feed alone was 4K because of supply shortages. I looked it up at Home Depot an a 500' spool of 4/0-4/0-4/0-2/0 is $6 a foot. I need 70 feet for a total of $420. Even buying all new breakers and and being very generous with materials markup, the quote breaks down to roughly $670/hr in labor for 16 hours of work. No branch lines are being moved and I have no issue removing the drywall around the panel to make execution easier. Called three local electricians that did not have 100 trucks on the road and got quotes around $5,700 to including whole house surge protection. Nope. Not calling them again. read more

READ REVIEWS...there is a pattern...check google! So I needed a plug install in my garage and have had 3 other quotes by other electricians all of which provided me the same/similar information. Jason, from Mr. Sparky, came out and was very nice and friendly (until he wasn't). He first inspected my panel and said due to the age of the house (built in 1996) there was concern that my panel box was burning out and it would be a manner of time before it would need replaced. Then said he would not be able to do any work until the panel box was replace and then said it would be around $5000!!! I told him I would think about it and would need to get further information and quotes...He continued to call me (over 6 times) within a few hours with sales pitches on what they could do to help me with the price and how important it was to prevent my electrical from burning out. I decide to have another company come who said all the information I got from Mr. Sparky was ridiculous and that there are several options other than "upgrading" they entire electrical. I call them back to tell them I was not interested in moving forward with them and Jason became very aggressive and said this was my one and only chance to protect my house and have the job done correctly...I had to block his phone!! I highly suggest getting multiple quotes and NOT trusting them without getting additional or other information. Thanks to Yelp! I read other reviews and learned this is a tactic of their business. I called Mr. Sparky to get a quote for replacement of my obsolete electrical panel. I also wanted an inspection of the wiring in the attic as there was evidence of rodent activity in the past. There were some other issues I was aware of based on DIY work being done around the house by the previous owner but none were critical. I'm an electrical engineer with a passing familiarity with the NEC, but as I usually do I played dumb while the rep was there. The rep (Jason) never bothered to look in the attic before telling me that an inspection of the wiring would cost nearly as much as a full rewire, that it was basically guaranteed that the wiring was trashed if there'd ever been rodents and in any case they wouldn't touch the panel without a full inspection or full rewire because the "liability" was too great. Long story short he told me my only real option was a $24,000 complete rewire and suggested my house would burn down soon if I didn't do it (not in a threatening way, but trying to get me to panic and jump on it). Since then I had a different electrician out who, after I paid a different company about $1,000 to remove all the insulation, inspected the attic wiring for free and found a single wire with a tiny nick in the outer insulation which probably wasn't even from rodents and a single circuit that'd need to be replaced because it wasn't run with the proper wire. He was also quite happy to give a quote on just the electrical panel and putting the other issues right, and the total project will be less than $5,000. I wasn't going to post a review about this but the more I've thought about it the more it's haunted me as I'm sure they're scaring a lot of people into rewiring their house unnecessarily. This company must be run by a bunch of crooks. I contacted Mister Sparkey for an estimate to install 2 ceiling fans. The electrician shows up and first wants to inspect my electrical panels. He claims the one outside has a surge protector in the box and it will blow in 10 years if I don't have them take it out. Basically he's using scare tactics to try and sell me things I don't need. Keep in mind my house was built in 2020. Now on to the estimate for the fans. He says this was a "complicated" job because my lights weren't meant for ceiling fans. Quoted me a price of $724! Needless to say I said no thanks and sent him on his way. Contacted a local electrician in my town and they charged me $200(includes warranty on any electrical issues). They told me this was an easy job and they constantly hear horror stories about Mister Sparkey. In my opinion the owners should be thrown in prison for trying to take advantage of people. My parents who are in their 90's called Mister Sparky for a small outlet issue. The guy then proceeded to inspect their entire electrical system and then told them that they had major issues and needed a new electrical panel and other work. The house was built in 1990 so it's not that old. Unfortunately he scared them with talk of a possible fire danger and they signed a $15,000 contract. By the time they called me it was too late to stop them because they were almost finished. Not only did my parents not need all this work, but it failed inspection big time and they refuse to come back to repair inspection failures. After talking to the inspector myself I found out his company is not only known for overselling, but specifically taking advantage of the elderly who are not knowledgable and very trusting of a sweet talking salesman. read more

Called MrSparky to replace the old ceiling fan and repair bathroom exhaust fan/light. MrSparky quoted $349 to diagnose and repair the bathroom exhaust fan. If he can't repair it, the diagnostic fee would be $99. After looking at the exhaust fan for about 5 mins, the technician said he can't repair it. That was $99! For the fan, once the fan was installed, I told the technician that the fan wasn't cool at all and the spinning was very slow even under the highest setting on the remote control. He said it was because the fan has only 3 blades and it will cost me the same amount to uninstall the fan if I want to return the fan for a better one. I didn't want to pay another $150 since I already wasted $99. My total invoice was about $250 to install the fan and checked the bathroom exhaust fan. When I asked to use "$77 for any repair" coupon, he said he can't apply the coupon since he already reduced the diagnostic fee from $349 to $99. He said that would be a double discount???? After he left, I checked the ceiling fan again and found that the fan was on the lowest setting and the tech guy had been pulling the light string instead of the fan string when he was using the remote control. I was so close to waste another $150 to uninstall the ceiling fan. Few days later, I got a new bathroom exhaust fan for $120 and had it installed by an electrician through Thumbtack for $80. Can't say that I had a good experience with MrSparky. No more MrSparky for me. read more

Mr Sparkys did a major rewire on our house for $20k. They did a completely terrible job. Most of the outlets are crooked. They left wires strewn haphazardly about our attic. The circuit breaker was completely mislabeled. And the kicker, one of their guys busted a hole in our ceiling, they said they would repair it, and now have refused to do that and are avoiding our attempts to contact them. I recently needed an electrical box outside a home we recently purchased, rewired and a new casing was required. Electric services were cut off until these repairs were completed. This meant the water sprinklers weren't working, the AC and all appliances were not functioning. I called several electrical companies who service the area ( near Oakland Park) and the ones who called back told me we were looking at at least a month to get the repair done, inspections completed and power up and running. I explained our needs to MISTER SPARKY. The service provider ( MARTIN)who came to the home was excellent and kept me informed every step of the way. The job was completed in a few days and they oversaw all that had to be done with FPL. Martin and Steve were amazing to work with... knowledgable, caring and excellent at their craft. This was a big job that they made look small. I am grateful to Martin and Steve for their work and helping us to get our power back on!! read more

Our house was built in 1970 and we have aluminum wiring so we had to have 125 outlets capped with cooper wiring and then we had to have wiring in the attic replaced to the outside meter that had come loose due to a tree limb and it wasn't waterproof anymore. It has been months since this happened and it's very hard to forget because I had to max out all my credit cards to pay them. They are a bunch of criminals in my opinion.
